1. A Mineral wool capable of comprising fibers whose constituents are mentioned below, in the following percentages by weight:
SiO2 35-60%,
Al2O3 12-27%,
CaO 0-35%,
MgO 0-30%,
Na2O 0-17%,
K2O 0-17%,
R2O (Na2O+K2O) 10-17%,
P2O5 0-5%,
Fe2O3 0-20%,
B2O3 0-8%,
TiO2 0-3%,
and at least one phosphorus compound capable of reacting at a temperature below 1000\xb0 C. with said fibers in order to form a coating on the surface of said fibers, wherein said phosphorus compound comprises, expressed by weight of phosphorus atoms, from 0.0005% to 1%, of the total mass of the fibers, and the phosphorus compound being a molecule in which the phosphorus atom(s) is (are) linked to at least one carbon atom, directly or via an oxygen atom.
2. The mineral wool as claimed in claim 1, comprising at least one phosphorus compound selected from the group consisting of:
a) a molecule containing a single phosphorus atom linked to at least one carbon atom, strictly by means of an oxygen atom; and
b) a molecule containing a single phosphorus atom linked directly to at least one carbon atom.
3. The mineral wool as claimed in claim 2, comprising at least one phosphorus compound (a) selected from the group consisting of: a mono-, di- or tri-phosphoric ester, or an unsubstituted phosphonic or phosphinic ester, the carbon-based groups of these esters being alkyl, aryl, acyl or hydroxyalkyl compounds, which may possibly be of oligomeric or polymeric nature andor contain one or more heteroatoms chosen from N, O or S.
4. The mineral wool as claimed in claim 2, comprising at least one phosphorus compound (b) selected from the group consisting of: an at least partially substituted phosphonic or a mono-, di- or tri-phosphinic ester or acid, the various carbon-based groups of these compounds being alkyl, aryl, acyl or hydroxyalkyl compounds, which may possibly be of oligomeric or polymeric nature andor contain one or more heteroatoms chosen from N, O or S.
5. The mineral wool as claimed in claim 1, comprising at least one phosphorus compound that is a molecule made up of several compounds of type (a) or (b) as claimed in claims 2 to 4, that are identical or different, linked together by covalent bonds.
6. The mineral wool as claimed in claim 5, comprising at least one phosphorus compound that is an oligomer or polymer molecule, of which the number of constituent units is between 2 and 100.
7. The mineral wool as claimed in claim 5, comprising at least one phosphorus compound that contains predominantly phosphorus atoms linked together via a carbon-based entity.
8. The mineral wool as claimed in claim 7, comprising at least one phosphorus compound represented by the general formula (1):
wherein:
n is between 1 and 100; and
the substituents R1 to R4 are identical or different and are predominantly carbon-based entities of branched alkyl, aryl, acyl or hydroxyalkyl type.
9. The mineral wool as claimed in claim 8, comprising at least one phosphorus compound that is a phosphonic polyester-type oligomer or polymer of general formula (2):
wherein:
the chain length n is between 1 and 100; and
the substituents R2 and R5 to R7 are identical or different and are predominantly carbon-based entities, of branched alkyl, aryl, acyl or hydroxyalkyl type.
10. The mineral wool as claimed in claim 8, comprising at least one phosphorus compound that is a phosphoric polyacid or polyester-type oligomer or polymer of general formula (3).
wherein:
the chain length n is between 1 and 100; and
the substituents R5 to R8 are identical or different and are predominantly carbon-based entities of branched alkyl, aryl, acyl or hydroxyalkyl type.
11. The mineral wool as claimed in claim 4, comprising at least one phosphorus compound that is obtained by an esterification or transesterification reaction between acids or esters, that are phosphonic and phosphoric respectively, and polyols (in particular diols), polyacids (in particular diacids) or epoxy compounds.
12. The mineral wool as claimed in claim 11, comprising at least one phosphorus compound that is obtained by reaction between molasses and the phosphoric or phosphonic acids or esters.
13. A mineral wool as claimed in claim 1, comprising fibers who constituents are mentioned below, the following percentages by weight:
SiO2 39-55%,
Al2O3 16-27%,
CaO 3-35%,
MgO 0-15%,
Na2O 0-15%,
K2O 0-15%,
R2O (Na2O+K2O) 10-17%,
P2O5 0-5%
Fe2O3 0-15%,
B2O3 0-8%,
TiO2 0-3%,
wherein MgO is between 0 and 5% when R2O\u226613.0%.
14. The mineral wool as claimed in claim 1, comprising fibers whose constituents are mentioned below, in the following percentages by weight:
SiO2 39-55%,
Al2O3 16-27%,
CaO 6-20%,
MgO 1-5%,
Na2O 0-15%,
K2O 0-15%,
R2O (Na2O+K2O) 10-14.7%,
P2O5 0-3%,
Fe2O3 (Total Iron) 1.5-15%,
B2O3 0-2%,
TiO2 0-2%,
15. The mineral wool as claimed in claim 1, wherein the CaO content is 9.5 to 20%.
16. The mineral wool as claimed in claim 1, comprising 20 to 25% alumina.
17. A mineral wool as claimed in claim 1, containing at least 2% MgO when the alumina is present in an amount of less than 22%, and containing 1 to 4%, MgO when the alumina is present in an amount of at least 22% by weight.
18. The mineral wool as claimed in claim 1, wherein the alkaline metal content is less than or equal to 13.0%.
19. The mineral wool as claimed in claim 1, wherein the R2OAl2O3 molar ratio is less than 0.9.
20. The mineral wool as claimed in claim 1, comprising 2 to 6% iron oxide.
21. The mineral wool as claimed in claim 1, comprising 1% titanium oxide or less.
22. The mineral wool as claimed in claim 1, wherein the fibers have a rate of dissolution of at least 30 ngcm2 per hour measured at pH 4.5.
23. The mineral wool as claimed in claim 1, wherein the glass of the fibers may be fiberized by the internal centrifugal process.
24. The mineral wool as claimed in claim 1, wherein the coating that can be formed on the surface of the fibers essentially consists of an alkaline-earth metal phosphate.
25. The mineral wool as claimed in claim 24, wherein the alkaline-earth metal phosphate is a lime phosphate.
26. A process for obtaining mineral wool as claimed in claim 1, comprising a step of fiber-forming followed by a step of supplying at least one phosphorus compound onto the surface of said fibers.
27. A fire-resistant structural system wherein the mineral wool as claimed in claim 1 is used.
28. A thermal andor acoustic insulation product comprising at least one mineral wool as claimed in claim 1.

A compound or a salt, ester of prodrug thereof according to claim 1 wherein R1 is hydrogen, halo or \u2014OR11 and R11 is hydrogen or a group selected from C1-6alkyl, heterocyclyl and heterocyclylC1-4alkyl, which group is optionally substituted by a substituent selected from hydroxy, C1-4alkoxy, hydroxyC1-4alkyl, hydroxyC1-4alkylcarbonyl, aminoC1-4alkylcarbonyl, C1-4alkylaminoC1-4alkylcarbonyl and bis(C1-4alkyl)aminoC1-4alkylcarbonyl.

A compound or a salt, ester of prodrug thereof according to claim 6 wherein R7 and R8 are independently selected from hydrogen, heterocyclyl, heterocyclylC1-4alkyl, C1-4alkylheterocyclylC1-4alkyl, C1-6alkyl, hydroxyC1-6alkyl, C1-4alkoxyC1-4alkyl, C3-6cycloalkyl, C3-6cycloalkylC1-4alkyl, hydroxyC3-6cycloalkyl, hydroxyC1-4alkylC3-6cycloalkyl, haloC1-6alkyl, C2-4alkenyl, C2-4alkynyl, cyanoC1-4alkyl, aminoC1-4alkyl, C1-4alkylaminoC1-4alkyl, bis(C1-4alkyl)aminoC1-4alkyl, hydroxyC1-4alkoxyC1-4alkyl and hydroxyC1-4alkylcarbonyl; or R7 and R8 together with the nitrogen to which they are attached form a heterocyclic ring selected from azetidine, pyrrolidine, piperidine, morpholine, piperazine, diazepane, 1,4-diazepane and azabicyclo3.1.0hexane which ring is optionally substituted on carbon or nitrogen by 1 or 2 substituents independently selected from C1-4alkyl, hydroxy, hydroxyC1-4alkyl, C1-4alkoxyC1-4alkyl, hydroxyC1-4alkoxyC1-4alkyl, C1-4alkylcarbonyl and hydroxyC1-4alkylcarbonyl, and where a ring \u2014CH2\u2014 is optionally replaced with \u2014C(O)\u2014.

A compound or a salt or ester thereof according to claim 2 wherein R1\u2032 is hydrogen, halo or \u2014OR11\u2032 and R11\u2032 is hydrogen, phosphonooxy or a group selected from C1-6alkyl, heterocyclyl and heterocyclylC1-4alkyl, which group is optionally substituted by a substituent selected from hydroxy, phosphonooxy, C1-4alkoxy, hydroxyC1-4alkyl, phosphonooxyC1-4alkyl, hydroxyC1 4alkylcarbonyl, phosphonooxyC1-4alkylcarbonyl, aminoC1-4alkylcarbonyl, C1-4alkylaminoC1-4alkylcarbonyl and bis(C1-4alkyl)aminoC1-4alkylcarbonyl.

A compound or a salt or ester thereof according to claim 2 wherein R2\u2032 is hydrogen, halo, \u2014OR12\u2032 or \u2014OC(O)R12\u2032 and R12\u2032 is hydrogen, phosphonooxy or a group selected from C1-4alkyl, aryl, heterocyclyl and heterocyclylC1-4alkyl which group is optionally substituted by a substituent selected from C1-4alkyl and C1-4alkoxy.

A compound or a salt or ester thereof according to claim 2 wherein R3\u2032 is hydrogen, phosphonooxy or \u2014X3R13\u2032 and R13\u2032 is hydrogen or a group selected from C1-6alkyl, aryl, arylC1-4alkyl, heterocyclyl and heterocyclylC1-4alkyl, which group is optionally substituted by 1 or 2 substituents independently selected from \u2014NR7\u2032R8\u2032, \u2014C(O)NR7\u2032R8\u2032, halo, hydroxy, phosphonooxy, C1-4alkyl, C1-4alkoxy, hydroxyC1-4alkyl, phosphonooxyC1-4alkyl, hydroxyC1-4alkylcarbonyl, phosphonooxyC1-4alkylcarbonyl and C1-4alkylcarbonyl.

23. A method of treating a human suffering from a hyperproliferative disease, comprising the steps of administering to a person in need of such treatment a therapeutic amount of a compound or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, ester or prodrug thereof according to claim 1.
24. A process for the preparation of a compound according to claim 1 or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, ester or prodrug thereof, which process comprises reacting a compound of formula (II)
where L is a suitable leaving group and R1, R2, R3, R4 are as defined in claim 1 with a compound of formula (III)
wherein R5 and R19 are as defined in claim 1
in the presence of hydrochloric acid in dioxane under an inert atmosphere, and thereafter if necessary:
i) converting a compound of the formula (I) into another compound of the formula (I); andor
ii) removing any protecting groups; andor
iii) forming a salt, ester or prodrug thereof.
25. A process for the preparation of a compound according to claim 2 or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, which process comprises phosphorylation of a compound according to claim 1, followed by deprotection of the phosphate group to yield a compound according to claim 2.

A method of treating a human suffering from colorectal, breast, lung, prostate, bladder, renal or pancreatic cancer or leukaemia or lymphoma, comprising the steps of administering to a person in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of a compound according to claim 1 or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, ester or prodrug thereof.
