1. A processing device comprising:
a processing core having circuitry for generating addresses to access a main memory;
an n-way cache comprising:
n separately addressable data memories each having a plurality of entries for storing information from said main memory; and
control circuitry for:
selectively operating one or more of the n data memories as either:
a set associative cache; or
a cache of information filled only with information associated with addresses of a specified, like-sized contiguous block of main memory addresses, where said contiguous block of main memory addresses has a 1:1 mapping with the cache of information; and
retrieving data from said data memories in response to an address from said processing core based on said cache association.
2. The processing device of claim 1 wherein said n-way cache further includes:
one or more tag memories having a respective entry for each entry of a corresponding data memory, where each entry of a tag memory stores a portion of a main memory address providing an association between the data memory entry and a main memory entry; and
one or more tag registers associated with respective data memories, each tag register storing a portion of a main memory address providing an association between the data memory and a block of main memory addresses.
3. The processing device of claim 2 and further comprising a global valid bit associated with each of said tag registers.
4. The processing device of claim 3 and further comprising a valid entry array comprising a valid entry bit corresponding to each entry of a corresponding data memory.
5. The processing device of claim 1 wherein said control circuitry comprises configuration bits for defining the cache association.
6. The processing device of claim 1 and further comprising logic to determine the occurrence of a cache hit in said cache.
7. An n-way cache system comprising:
n separately addressable data memories each having a plurality of entries for storing information from a main memory; and
control circuitry for:
selectively operating one or more of the n data memories as either:
a set associative cache; or
a cache of information filled only with information associated with addresses of a specified, like-sized contiguous block of main memory addresses, where said contiguous block of main memory addresses has a 1:1 mapping with the cache of information; and
retrieving data from said data memories in response to an address from said processing core based on said cache association.
8. The cache system of claim 7, wherein said n-way cache further includes:
one or more tag memories having a respective entry for each entry of a corresponding data memory, where each entry of a tag memory stores a portion of a main memory address providing an association between the data memory entry and a main memory entry; and
one or more tag registers associated with respective data memories, each tag register storing a portion of a main memory address providing an association between the data memory and a block of main memory addresses.
9. The cache system of claim 8 and further comprising a global valid bit associated with each of said tag registers.
10. The cache system of claim 9 and further comprising a valid entry array comprising a valid entry bit corresponding to each entry of a corresponding data memory.
11. The cache system of claim 7 wherein said control circuitry comprises configuration bits for defining the cache association.

1. This invention has the ability to function as a normal Kung Fu Martial Arts fighting fan. But has the added features of being able to store and deliver an electrical Taser shock to a chosen target when the fan is open. The electrical charge is stored in a black battery mounted in the center of the fan. There are wires running up the length of the two outside fan blades or in other words the two perimeter fan blades that connect with the two ends of the copper conduction wire. The Kung Fu Fan Taser weapon also has the added ability to charge itself via solar rays from the sun because the fans fabric material is actually a solar panel. The fan is also an improvement on the previous kung fu martial arts fan because it has a spring wire across the top perimeter of the fan that helps retract the fan into a closed position and a blue lock button that prevents the coil from retracting the fan closed when it is in an open position. When the fan is in an open locked position, the user is able to press a red button next to the blue button and discharge an electrical charge to the target with the fan open. The fan is also able to close back into a stick like instrument when the blue locking button is pressed again and the fan is able to spring shut via the coil wire. The coil wire also serves to conduct the electrical shock along the fans perimeter when it is open. The wire is laced through a series of metal ball bearings at the tip of each of the fans blades, or at the head of each of the fans support blades. The solar panel is backed by a thin rubber matt that is on the reverse side of the fan also. The fan blades are made of a thick durable plastic and the fans handle is thickened with plastic to help with the grip and adds support to the weapon design during martial arts practice.
