1. A transdermal therapeutic system comprising a self-adhesive matrix layer containing the free base (\u2212)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-6-propyl-12-(2-thienyl)ethylamino-1-naphthalenol in an amount effective for the treatment of the symptoms of Parkinson’s syndrome, wherein the matrix is based on a an acrylate-based or silicone-based polymer adhesive system having a solubility of \u22675% (ww) for the free base (\u2212)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-6-propyl-2-(2-thienyl)ethyl-amino-1-naphthalenol, all of said free base being present in the matrix in the absence of water; a backing layer inert to the components of the matrix layer; and a protective foil or sheet covering the matrix layer to be removed prior to use.
2. The transdermal therapeutic system of claim 1 further comprising <0.5% (ww) inorganic silicate particulates in the matrix layer.
3. The transdermal therapeutic system of claim 1 further comprising <0.05% (ww) inorganic silicate particulates in the matrix layer.
4. The transdermal therapeutic system of claim 1 wherein the acrylate-based polymer adhesive in the matrix layer contains at least two monomers selected from the group of acrylic acid, acrylamide, hexylacrylate, 2-ethylhexylacrylate, hydroxyethylacrylate, octylacrylate, butylacrylate, methylacrylate, glycidylacrylate, methacrylic acid, methacrylamide, hexylmethacrylate, 2-ethyhexylmethacrylate, octylmethacrylate, methylmethacrylate, glycidylmethacrylate, vinylacetate and vinylpyrrolidone.
5. The transdermal therapeutic system of claim 1 wherein the silicone-based polymer adhesive in the matrix layer further comprises additives to enhance the solubility of (\u2212)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-6-propyl-2-(2-thienyl)ethylamino-1-naphthalenol in the form of hydrophilic polymers or glycerol or glycerol derivatives.
6. The transdermal therapeutic system of claim 4 wherein the acrylate-based polymer contains between 10 to 40% (ww) (\u2212)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-6-propyl-2-(2-thienyl)ethyl-amino-1-naphthalenol.
7. The transdermal therapeutic system of claim 5 wherein the silicone-based polymer adhesive contains between 5 to 25% (ww) (\u2212)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydropropyl-2-(2-thienyl)ethyl-amino-1-naphthalenol.
8. The transdermal therapeutic system of claim 6 further comprising substances which enhance the permeation of (\u2212)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-6-propyl-2-(2-thienyl)ethylamino-1-naphthalenol into the human skin.
9. The transdermal therapeutic system of claim 7 further comprising substances which enhance the permeation of (\u2212)-5,6,7, 8-tetrahydro-6-propyl-2-(2a thienyl)ethylamino-1-naphthalenol into the human skin.
10. The transdermal therapeutic system of claim 8 wherein the permeation-enhancing substance is selected from the group of fatty alcohols, fatty acids, fatty acid esters, fatty acid amides, glycerol or its derivatives, N-methyl-pyrrolidone, terpenes, and terpene derivatives.
11. The transdermal therapeutic system of claim 9 wherein the permeation-enhancing substance is selected from the group of fatty alcohols, fatty acids, fatty acid esters, fatty acid amides, glycerol or its derivatives, N-methyl-pyrrolidone, terpenes, and terpene derivatives.
12. The transdermal therapeutic system of claim 10 wherein the permeation-enhancing substance is oleic acid or oleyl alcohol.
13. The transdermal therapeutic system of claim 11 wherein the permeation-enhancing substance is oleic acid or oleyl alcohol.
14. The transdermal therapeutic system of claim 5, wherein the hydrophilic polymer is selected from the group of polyvinylpyrrolidone, a copolymer of vinylpyrrolidone and vinylacetate, polyethyleneglycol, polypropylene glycol, and a copolymer of ethylene and vinylacetate.
15. The transdermal therapeutic system of claim 14 wherein the hydrophilic polymer is soluble polyvinylpyrrolidone, and wherein the soluble polyvinylpyrrolidone is present in the active substance-containing matrix layer at a concentration of between 1.5 and 5% (ww).
16. The transdermal system of claim 1 wherein the matrix further comprises inert fillers to improve cohesion.

1. A method implemented by a computing system in response to execution of program code by a processor of the computing system, the method comprising:
receiving a first query from a client device at a first database node of a database instance comprising two or more database nodes;
determining routing information associated with the first query;
compiling the first query at the first database node to generate first compiled code;
transmitting the first compiled code and the routing information to the client device;
receiving the compiled code from the client device at a second one of the two or more database nodes;
determining, at the second one of the two or more database nodes, that data associated with the compiled query is associated with a third one of the two or more database nodes;
transmitting the compiled code from the second one of the two or more database nodes to the third one of the two or more database nodes;
receiving query results at the second one of the two or more database nodes from the third one of the two or more database nodes; and
transmitting the query results and an indication to update the routing information from the second one of the two or more database nodes to the client device.
2. A method according to claim 1, wherein determining the routing information comprises determining that the second database node is associated with the first query, and wherein the routing information comprises an identifier of the second database node.
3. A method according to claim 2, wherein the indication comprises a second identifier of the third database node.
4. A method according to claim 2, further comprising:
receiving a second query from the client device;
determining second routing information associated with the second query;
compiling the second query to generate second compiled code;
transmitting the second compiled code and the second routing information to the client device;
receiving the second compiled code from the client device at the third one of the two or more database nodes;
determining, at the third one of the two or more database nodes, that data associated with the second compiled query is associated with the second one of the two or more database nodes;
transmitting the second compiled code from the third one of the two or more database nodes to the second one of the two or more database nodes;
receiving second query results at the third one of the two or more database nodes from the second one of the two or more database nodes; and
transmitting the second query results and an indication to update the second routing information from the third one of the two or more database nodes to the client device.
5. A method according to claim 4, wherein the second routing information comprises partitioning metadata of a first database table associated with the second query, the first partitioning metadata usable to identify one of the two or more database nodes based on table key values.
6. A method according to claim 1, wherein the second routing information comprises partitioning metadata of a first database table associated with the query, the first partitioning metadata usable to identify one of the two or more database nodes based on table key values.
7. A method according to claim 6, wherein the partitioning metadata comprises:
a partitioning criteria function having input parameters associated with table keys; and
for each partition of the first database table, an associated identifier of a database node storing the partition.
8. A non-transitory medium storing computer-executable program code, the program code executable by a computing device to:
receive a first query from a client device at a first database node of a database instance comprising two or more database nodes;
determine routing information associated with the first query;
compile the first query at the first database node to generate first compiled code;
transmit the first compiled code and the routing information to the client device;
receive the compiled code from the client device at a second one of the two or more database nodes;
determine, at the second one of the two or more database nodes, that data associated with the compiled query is associated with a third one of the two or more database nodes;
transmit the compiled code from the second one of the two or more database nodes to the third one of the two or more database nodes;
receive query results at the second one of the two or more database nodes from the third one of the two or more database nodes; and
transmit the query results and an indication to update the routing information from the second one of the two or more database nodes to the client device.
9. A medium according to claim 8, wherein the program code executable by a computing device to determine the routing information comprises program code executable by a computing device to determine that the second database node is associated with the first query, and wherein the routing information comprises an identifier of the second database node.
10. A medium according to claim 9, wherein the indication comprises a second identifier of the third database node.
11. A medium according to claim 9, the program code further executable by a computing device to:
receive a second query from the client device;
determine second routing information associated with the second query;
compile the second query to generate second compiled code;
transmit the second compiled code and the second routing information to the client device;
receive the second compiled code from the client device at the third one of the two or more database nodes;
determine, at the third one of the two or more database nodes, that data associated with the second compiled query is associated with the second one of the two or more database nodes;
transmit the second compiled code from the third one of the two or more database nodes to the second one of the two or more database nodes;
receive second query results at the third one of the two or more database nodes from the second one of the two or more database nodes; and
transmit the second query results and an indication to update the second routing information from the third one of the two or more database nodes to the client device.
12. A medium according to claim 11, wherein the second routing information comprises partitioning metadata of a first database table associated with the second query, the first partitioning metadata usable to identify one of the two or more database nodes based on table key values.

a client device comprising a processor and a memory;

a second database node comprising a second processor and a second memory, the second database node to:
receive a first query from the client device;
determine routing information associated with the first query;
compile the first query to generate first compiled code; and
transmit the first compiled code and the routing information to the client device,

wherein the first database node is to:
receive the compiled code from the client device;
determine that data associated with the compiled query is associated with a third database node;
transmit the compiled code to the third database node;
receive query results from the third database node; and
transmit the query results and an indication to update the routing information to the client device.
16. A system according to claim 15, wherein determination of the routing information comprises determination that the first database node is associated with the first query,
wherein the routing information comprises an identifier of the first database node, and
wherein the indication comprises a second identifier of the third database node.
17. A system according to claim 15, wherein the routing information comprises partitioning metadata of a first database table associated with the query, the first partitioning metadata usable to identify one of the two or more database nodes based on table key values.
18. A system according to claim 17, wherein the partitioning metadata comprises:
a partitioning criteria function having input parameters associated with table keys; and
for each partition of the first database table, an associated identifier of a database node storing the partition.
