1. An inclinometer comprising:
an inclination sensing unit;
a base;
an actuator configured to impart relative motion between said sensing unit and said base.
2. The sensor according to claim 1 wherein an inclination measurement is obtained after said relative motion has ceased.
3. The sensor according to claim 1 wherein an inclination measurement is obtained during a time period said controlled motion occurs.
4. The sensor according to claim 1 wherein said sensing unit comprises a liquid.
5. The sensor according to claim 4 wherein said liquid is conductive.
6. The sensor according to claim 4 wherein said liquid is nonconductive.
7. The sensor according to claim 4 wherein the capacitance between said liquid and at least a portion of the vessel wall containing the liquid is measured.
8. The sensor according to claim 4 wherein the electrical resistance between two points in said liquid is measured.
9. A method of measuring inclination of a surface comprising:
providing an inclination sensing unit configured with a base;
placing said base against said surface, wherein the surface has a measure of inclination;
inducing relative motion between said sensing unit and said base wherein the relative motion is constrained;
obtaining a measurement of the inclination of the surface from said sensing unit.
10. The method of claim 9 wherein said sensing unit comprises a liquid.
11. The method of claim 10 wherein said sensing unit comprises a conductive liquid.
12. The method of claim 11 wherein said liquid is an electrolyte.
13. The method of claim 10 further comprising agitating said liquid.
14. The method of claim 13 wherein said liquid is agitated using an agitator that is in direct contact with said liquid.
15. The sensor according to claim 1 wherein the inclination sensing unit comprises a vessel at least partially filled with a liquid.
16. The sensor according to claim 15 wherein at least a portion of a surface of the vessel in contact with the liquid is selected from the group consisting of a hydrophobic surface, a super-hydrophobic surface, and a hydrophilic surface.
17. The sensor according to claim 15 wherein the liquid contacts at least a portion of the vessel wall wherein the contact angle is greater than 100 degrees.
18. The sensor according to claim 15 wherein the liquid contacts at least a portion of the vessel wall wherein the contact angle is greater than 150 degrees.
19. The sensor according to claim 15 wherein the liquid contacts at least a portion of the vessel wall wherein the contact angle is greater than 170 degrees.
20. A displacement sensor comprising:
a displacement sensing unit comprising a vessel at least partially filled with a liquid;
a base;
wherein at least a portion of a surface of the vessel in contact with the liquid is selected from the group consisting of a hydrophobic surface, a super-hydrophobic surface, and a hydrophilic surface.
21. The sensor according to claim 20 further comprising an actuator wherein the actuator is configured to impart relative motion between said sensing unit and said base.

1. A computer-implemented method comprising:
identifying, by a computer system, a set of candidate entities associated with a user;
identifying a set of photos associated with the set of candidate entities;
performing a facial recognition process on the set of photos to identify in the set of photos a subset of photos in which the user is recognized by the facial recognition process;
generating for the subset of photos a set of suggested photo tags associated with the user, wherein each suggested photo tag in the set of suggested photo tags identifies the user in a respective photo in the subset of photos as identified by the facial recognition process; and
receiving a set of user responses with respect to the set of suggested photo tags.
2. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the set of candidate entities comprises one or more entities having an associated profile on a social networking system.
3. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the set of candidate entities comprises at least one of members of a social networking system, member groups of the social networking system, organizations on the social networking system, places posted on the social networking system, or events posted on the social networking system.
4. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the set of candidate entities are obtained from social graph data that supports a social networking system.
5. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the computer-implemented method is performed based on authorization by the user.
6. The computer-implemented method of claim 5, wherein the authorization by the user is provided by a set of user privacy settings associated with the user.
7. The computer-implemented method of claim 6, further comprising identifying the set of user privacy settings associated with the user.
8. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, further comprising presenting the subset of photos and set of suggested photo tags to the user through a graphical user interface.
9. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the set of user responses comprises the user confirming or declining one or more tags in the set of suggested photo tags.
10. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the set of user responses comprises the user selecting to take no action with respect to one or more tags in the set of suggested photo tags.
11. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the facial recognition process is based on a face recognition template associated with the user.
12. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the subset of photos comprises one or more photos in which the user was recognized by the facial recognition process at a confidence level that meets or exceeds a minimum threshold of confidence.
13. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, further comprising alerting the user regarding the set of suggested photo tags.
14. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the set of photos comprises one or more photos each having an associated date that is on or after a predetermined date.
15. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the set of photos comprises one or more photos each having an associated time that is on or after a predetermined time.
16. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, further comprising saving one or more tags in the set of suggested photo tags based on the set of user responses.
17. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, further comprising preventing another user of the social networking system from tagging the user in one or more photos in the subset of photos.
18. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the computer-implemented method is performed periodically or based on an event associated with the user.
19. A system comprising:
at least one processor; and
a memory storing instructions configured to instruct the at least one processor to perform:
identifying a set of candidate entities associated with a user;
identifying a set of photos associated with the set of candidate entities;
performing a facial recognition process on the set of photos to identify in the set of photos a subset of photos in which the user is recognized by the facial recognition process;
generating for the subset of photos a set of suggested photo tags that are associated with the user and that tag the user in the subset of photos as identified by the facial recognition process; and
receiving user input with respect to the set of suggested photo tags.
20. A non-transitory computer storage medium storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed, cause a computer system to perform a computer-implemented method comprising:
identifying a set of candidate entities associated with a user;
identifying a set of photos associated with the set of candidate entities;
performing a facial recognition process on the set of photos to identify in the set of photos a subset of photos in which the user is recognized by the facial recognition process;
generating for the subset of photos a set of suggested photo tags that are associated with the user and that tag the user in the subset of photos as identified by the facial recognition process; and
receiving user input with respect to the set of suggested photo tags.
