1. A vehicle lamp comprising:
a semiconductor light emitting device;
a heatsink configured to dissipate heat generated by the semiconductor light emitting device, wherein the heatsink comprises a base and a plurality of heat dissipating members arranged to protrude from the base;
a fan which moves air;
a guide portion configured to diffuse the air from the fan and to guide the air toward the heatsink; and
a housing in which the semiconductor light emitting device, the heatsink, the fan and the guide portion are accommodated.
2. The vehicle lamp according to claim 1, wherein the fan is configured and arranged to move the air in a first direction which is different from a second direction in which the plurality of heat dissipating members extend longitudinally along the base, and
the guide portion comprises a wall surface which is disposed in front of the fan in the first direction such that the air colliding with the wall surface is diffused and is guided toward the heatsink.
3. The vehicle lamp according to claim 1, wherein the heat dissipating members form a plurality of gaps therebetween, and the guide portion is arranged below the heatsink to upwardly guide the air into the respective gaps.
4. The vehicle lamp according to claim 3, wherein the guide portion comprises:
a rear wall formed with an opening through which the air is introduced in the guide portion from the fan;
a front wall facing the rear wall;
two side walls; and
a bottom wall from which the rear wall, the front wall and the side walls upwardly extend,
wherein an upper opening is formed above the bottom wall to send the air toward the heatsink.
5. The vehicle lamp according to claim 4, wherein the fan is arranged to face the opening in the rear wall of the guide portion.
6. The vehicle lamp according to claim 4, wherein the base comprises a rear surface from which the plurality of heat dissipating members rearwardly protrude, and an inner wall surface of the front wall of the guide portion is flush with the rear surface of the base.
7. The vehicle lamp according to claim 1, wherein the plurality of heat dissipating members comprises a plurality of plate fins which rearwardly protrude from the base at intervals.
8. The vehicle lamp according to claim 1, wherein the plurality of heat dissipating members comprises a plurality of pin fins which rearwardly protrude from the base at intervals.
9. The vehicle lamp according to claim 1, wherein the plurality of heat dissipating members comprises two plate fins that are arranged to rearwardly protrude from respective sides of the base.
10. The vehicle lamp according to claim 1, wherein the base is rectangular, and a diameter of the fan is smaller than a short side of the base.
11. The vehicle lamp according to claim 1, wherein the housing is hermetically sealed.
12. The vehicle lamp according to claim 1, wherein the heatsink and the guide portion are integrally formed together in a one-piece structure.
13. A vehicle lamp comprising:
a hermetically sealed housing;
a semiconductor light emitting device;
a heatsink comprising a base to which the semiconductor light emitting device is thermally connected, and a plurality of heat dissipating members thermally connected to the base, arranged to protrude from the base, and distributed at intervals along the base so as to form a plurality of gaps between the heat dissipating members;
a fan which moves air; and
a means for uniformly distributing the air from the fan into the plurality of gaps to dissipate the heat from the heatsink
wherein the semiconductor light emitting device, the heatsink, the fan and said means are accommodated inside the hermetically sealed housing.

22. An apparatus, comprising:
a timing belt or chain cartridge apparatus for an engine having a crankshaft with a crankshaft sprocket attached thereto and a camshaft with a camshaft sprocket attached thereto, the timing belt cartridge apparatus comprising:
a continuous force transmitting member comprising a timing belt or chain;
a base having first and second pulleys and configured to be attached to the engine to urge the force transmitting member against the crankshaft sprocket so as to be driven thereby, and
wherein the timing belt cartridge apparatus is removable from the engine with the crankshaft sprocket remaining attached to the engine.
23. The apparatus according to claim 22, wherein the base is configured to locate the first and second pulleys such that the crankshaft sprocket is located between the first and second pulleys along a path of the continuous force transmitting member.
24. The apparatus according to claim 22, wherein the base further comprises water or oil pumps.
25. The apparatus according to claim 24, wherein the base further comprises at least one other pulley which is urged contact with the continuous force transmitting member and which drives the water or oil pumps.
26. The apparatus according to claim 22, wherein the base further comprises:
at least one other pulley which is urged into contact with the continuous force transmitting member; and
a controllable adjusting mechanism which adjusts a position of the at least one other pulley.
27. The apparatus according to claim 26, wherein the adjusting mechanism is controllable to adjust timing of the camshaft sprocket relative to the crankshaft sprocket.
28. The apparatus according to claim 22, wherein the a timing belt cartridge apparatus can be installed or removed without removing an accessory drive belt of the engine which is installed on a crankshaft pulley.
29. The apparatus according to claim 22, wherein the base further includes one or more of a coolant passage for passage of coolant of the engine and an oil passage for passage of oil of the engine.
30. An apparatus, comprising:
a timing belt or chain cartridge apparatus for an engine having a driving sprocket and a driven sprocket, the timing belt cartridge apparatus comprising:
a continuous force transmitting member comprising a timing belt or chain;
a base having first and second pulleys and configured to be attached to the engine to urge the force transmitting member against the driving sprocket so as to be driven thereby, and
wherein the timing belt cartridge apparatus is removable from the engine with the driven sprocket remaining attached to the engine.
31. The apparatus according to claim 30, wherein the base is configured to locate the first and second pulleys such that the driving sprocket is located between the first and second pulleys along a path of the continuous force transmitting member.
32. The apparatus according to claim 30, wherein the base further comprises water or oil pumps.
33. The apparatus according to claim 32, wherein the base further comprises at least one other pulley which is urged into contact with the continuous force transmitting member and which drives the water or oil pumps.
34. The apparatus according to claim 30, wherein the base further comprises:
at least one other pulley which is urged into contact with the continuous force transmitting member; and
a controllable adjusting mechanism which adjusts a position of the at least one other pulley.
35. The apparatus according to claim 34, wherein the adjusting mechanism is controllable to adjust timing of the camshaft sprocket relative to the crankshaft sprocket.
36. The apparatus according to claim 30, wherein the a timing belt cartridge apparatus can be installed or removed without removing accessory belts which are installed on an accessory drive pulley attached to a crankshaft of the engine.
37. The apparatus according to claim 30, wherein the base further includes one or more of a coolant passage for passage of coolant of the engine and an oil passage for passage of oil of the engine.
38. An engine drive configuration for an engine having a crankshaft sprocket driven by a crankshaft of the engine and at least one camshaft sprocket for driving a camshaft of the engine, the engine drive configuration comprising:
a continuous force transmitting member comprising a timing chain or belt and defining an enclosed area; and
first and second pulleys situated within the enclosed area so as to engage the continuous force transmitting member and force the continuous force transmitting member against the crankshaft sprocket, the first and second pulleys being located such that the crankshaft sprocket is situated immediately between the first and second pulleys along a path of the continuous force transmitting member and outside of the enclosed area, and wherein one of the first and second pulleys is located between the crankshaft and camshaft sprockets along a path of the continuous force transmitting member on a tension side and the other of the first and second pulleys is located between the crankshaft and the camshaft along a path of the continuous force transmitting member on the slack side.
39. The drive configuration according to claim 38, further comprising a base configured to locate one or more of the first and second pulleys.
40. The drive configuration according to claim 39, wherein the base further comprises water or oil pumps.
41. The drive configuration according to claim 38, wherein the base further comprises:
at least one other pulley; and
a controllable adjusting mechanism which adjusts valve timing of the camshaft sprocket relative to the crankshaft sprocket.
