1. A centrifugal blower comprising:
a centrifugal multi-blade fan having multiple blades about a rotational shaft, wherein said centrifugal fan takes in air along an axial direction of said rotational shaft and blows said air outward in a radial direction with respect to said rotational shaft; and
a scroll casing for storing said centrifugal multi-blade fan, said scroll casing defining a scroll-shaped airflow passage for directing said air blown out from said centrifugal multi-blade fan, said scroll casing having an intake opening at a first end of said rotational shaft and an outlet opening at a scroll end at an airflow downstream portion; wherein
a first expanded part and a second expanded part are expanded in a direction parallel with said rotational shaft and are provided in said airflow passage such that a flow passage cross-sectional area on the airflow downstream side is larger than that on an airflow upstream side;
a ratio of a blade length of said blades to a diameter of the centrifugal multi-blade fan is equal to or over 0.12;
an outer peripheral radius of said scroll casing expands as a logarithmic spiral, and its expansion angle is from 3.3\xb0 to 4.8\xb0;
a dimension of said winding-end portion in a direction parallel with said rotational shaft is from 1.1 times to 2.3 times a dimension of a nose in said scroll casing in a direction parallel with said rotational shaft.
2. The centrifugal blower according to claim 1, wherein a dimension of said winding-end portion in a direction parallel with said rotational shaft is from 1.3 times to 2.1 times of a dimension of a nose in said scroll casing in a direction parallel with said rotational shaft.
3. A centrifugal blower comprising:
a centrifugal multi-blade fan provided with multiple blades about a rotational shaft for drawing in air along said rotational shaft and blowing said air outward in a radial direction, perpendicular to said rotational shaft; and
a scroll casing for storing said centrifugal multi-blade fan, said scroll casing defining a scroll-shaped airflow passage for directing said air blown out from said centrifugal multi-blade fan, and said scroll casing defines an intake opening on a first end in the axial direction of said rotational shaft, and an outlet opening at an airflow downstream side of a scroll end; wherein
a plurality of expanded parts extending in a direction parallel to said rotational shaft are provided in said airflow passage such that a flow passage cross-sectional area on the airflow downstream side is larger than that on an airflow upstream side;
a ratio of a blade length (L) of said blades to a diameter of the centrifugal multi-blade fan is equal to or over 0.12;
an outer peripheral radius of said scroll casing extends as a logarithmic spiral, wherein its expansion angle is from 3.5\xb0 to 4.5\xb0; and
a dimension of said winding-end portion in a direction parallel with said rotational shaft is from 1.1 times to 2.3 times a dimension of a nose in said scroll casing in a direction parallel with said rotational shaft.
4. The centrifugal blower according to claim 3, wherein a dimension of said winding-end portion in a direction parallel with said rotational shaft is from 1.3 times to 2.1 times of a dimension of a nose in said scroll casing in a direction parallel with said rotational shaft.
5. A centrifugal blower comprising:
a centrifugal multi-blade fan having multiple blades about a rotational shaft, wherein said centrifugal fan takes in air along an axial direction of said rotational shaft and blows said air outward in a radial direction with respect to said rotational shaft; and
a scroll casing for storing said centrifugal multi-blade fan, said scroll casing defining a scroll-shaped airflow passage for directing said air blown out from said centrifugal multi-blade fan, said scroll casing having an intake opening at a first end of said rotational shaft and an outlet opening at a scroll end at an airflow downstream portion; wherein
a first expanded part and a second expanded part are expanded in a direction parallel with said rotational shaft and are provided in said airflow passage such that a flow passage cross-sectional area on the airflow downstream side is larger than that on an airflow upstream side;
a ratio of a blade length of said blades to a diameter of the centrifugal multi-blade fan is equal to or over 0.12;
an outer peripheral radius of said scroll casing expands as a logarithmic spiral, and its expansion angle is from 3.3\xb0 to 4.8\xb0;
said airflow passage has an approximately rectangular cross-section with rounded interior passage corners.
6. A centrifugal blower comprising:
a centrifugal multi-blade fan having multiple blades about a rotational shaft, wherein said centrifugal fan takes in air along an axial direction of said rotational shaft and blows said air outward in a radial direction with respect to said rotational shaft; and
a scroll casing for storing said centrifugal multi-blade fan, said scroll casing defining a scroll-shaped airflow passage for directing said air blown out from said centrifugal multi-blade fan, said scroll casing having an intake opening at a first end of said rotational shaft and an outlet opening at a scroll end at an airflow downstream portion; wherein
a first expanded part and a second expanded part are expanded in a direction parallel with said rotational shaft and are provided in said airflow passage such that a flow passage cross-sectional area on the airflow downstream side is larger than that on an airflow upstream side;
a ratio of a blade length of said blades to a diameter of the centrifugal multi-blade fan is equal to or over 0.12;
an outer peripheral radius of said scroll casing expands as a logarithmic spiral, and its expansion angle is from 3.3\xb0 to 4.8\xb0;
a protrusion protruding toward said centrifugal multi-blade fan is provided on an inner wall on an outer peripheral side of said scroll casing, and has an approximately triangular shape protruding toward said centrifugal multi-blade fan when viewed from a primary flow direction of the air flowing through said airflow passage.

1. A composition for the treatment and prophylaxis of medical conditions andor for use in cosmetic treatments of a human or other animal, comprising an aqueous alcoholic extract from a plant of the genus Centipeda and an acceptable carrier andor diluent
2. A composition according to claim 1, wherein the plant is Centipeda cunninghamii.
3. A composition according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the aqueous alcoholic extract is an extract in 10% ethanol90% water to 95% ethanol5% water
4. A composition according to claim 3, wherein the aqueous alcoholic extract is an extract in 30% ethanol70% water.
5. A composition according to any one of claims 1-4, wherein the extract is prepared from part or all of the plant.
6. A composition according to any one of claims 1-5, wherein the extract is prepared by maceration, percolation, infusion, decoction, oil infusion or alcoholethanol extraction.
7. A composition according to any one of claims 1-5, wherein the extract is prepared from dried plant material.
8. A composition according to claim 1, wherein the carrier andor diluent is an orally or topically acceptable carrier andor diluent.
9. A composition according to claim 8, wherein the carrier andor diluent comprises one or more of:
emulsifiers, skin protectants, skin conditioners, humectants, preservatives, solvents, herbal actives, essential oils, suspension agents, anionic emulsifying agents, astringents, antiseptics, healing agents, germicides, anti-inflammatories, skin fresheners, wetting agents, antioxidants, skin lubricants, emollients, absorbing agents, preservatives, skinhair conditioners, abrasives, detergents, binders andor deodorizing agents, solvents, dispersion media, fillers, solid carriers, aqueous solutions, coatings, antibacterial and antifungal agents, isotonic or absorption delaying agents.
10. A composition according to any one of the preceding claims, in the form of an ingestible tablet, buccal tablet, capsule, lozenge, cachet, wafer, a suspension in an aqueous liquid, a syrup, an elixir, or an emulsion.
11. A composition according to any one of claims 1 to 9, in the form of a mouth lotion mouth gel or gargle solution.
12. A composition according to any one of claims 1 to 9, in the form of a liquid or semi-liquid preparation, a cream, a homogeneous viscous or sem-solid emulsion, a gel, a liniment, a lotion, an ointment, a paint, a paste, a solution, a spray, a stick or a suspension.
13. A composition according to any one of claims 1 to 12, for use in therapeutic or prophylactic treatment or cosmetic treatment of a human.
14. A composition according claim 13, wherein the treatment is topical or oral treatment.
15. A composition according to claim 13 or 14, for use in the treatment of acne, pimples, herpes, bed sores, skin irritations, cuts, psoriasis, skin sun damage, eczema, or dermatitis.
16. A composition according to claim 13 or 14, for use in the treatment of nasal irritations.
17. A composition according to claim 13 or 14, for use in diuretic treatment.
18. A composition according to claim 13 or 14, for use in the treatment of rashes, allergic reactions, inflammations, bacterial infections or gastrointestinal disorders.
19. A composition according to claim 13 or 14, for use in skin proliferation or skin disease treatment.
20. A composition according to claim 13 or 14, in the form of a deodorant, facial scrub, shaving cream or gel, eyeface cream or gel, make-up remover, toner, cleanser, shampoo, conditioner or breath freshener.
21. A method of treatment or prophylaxis of medical conditions andor a method of cosmetic treatment of a human or other animal comprising administration of a composition comprising an aqueous alcoholic extract from a plant of the genus Centipeda combined with an acceptable carrier andor diluent.
22. A method of treatment according to claim 21, comprising administration of a composition according to any one of claims 2 to 12.
23. A method of treatment according to claim 21, wherein the treatment is treatment of acne, pimples, herpes, bed sores, skin irritations, cuts, psoriasis, skin sun damage, eczema or dermatitis.
24. A method of treatment according to claim 21, wherein the treatment is treatment of nasal irritations.
25. A method of treatment according to claim 21, wherein the treatment is diuretic treatment.
26. A method of treatment according to claim 21, wherein the treatment is treatment of rashes, allergic reactions, inflammations, bacterial infections or gastrointestinal disorders.
27. A method of treatment according to claim 21, wherein the treatment is treatment of skin proliferation or skin disease.
28. A method of treatment according to any one of claims 21 to 27, wherein the composition is administered to a human.
29. A method of treatment according to claim 21, comprising oral administration of an aqueous alcoholic extract from a plant of the genus Centipeda, combined with an orally suitable carrier.
30. A method of treatment according to claim 21, comprising topical administration of an aqueous alcoholic extract from a plant of the genus Centipeda, combined with a topically suitable carrier.
31. Use of a composition according to any one of claims 1-20 in the preparation of a medicament for therapeutic or prophylactic treatment of a medical condition andor for cosmetic treatment of a human or other animal.
