1. A shipping management tool, the tool comprising:
a system that allows for information to be loaded therein;
means for compiling at least one of shipment and material information into the system;
means for rating information representative of the material to be shipped;
means for compiling information concerning one or more carriers for the material to be shipped;
means for evaluating the carriers based on one or more of existing and proposed contracts, contractual terms and desired contractual obligations; and
means for determining an appropriate carrier based on the means for compiling at least one of shipment and material information, and means for rating, and means for compiling information concerning one or more carriers, and means for evaluating the carriers.
2. A tool according to claim 1, wherein the means for determining an appropriate carrier comprises means for searching for carriers that align with the compiled information.
3. A tool according to claim 1, wherein the means for determining an appropriate carrier comprises means for eliminating carriers based on carrier weight capability.
4. A tool according to claim 1, wherein the means for determining an appropriate carrier comprises means for eliminating carriers based on carrier location.
5. A tool according to claim 1, wherein the means for determining an appropriate carrier comprises means for eliminating carriers based on carrier equipment.
6. A tool according to claim 1, wherein the means for determining an appropriate carrier comprises means for eliminating carriers based on carrier scheduling capability.
7. A tool according to claim 1, wherein the system comprises a computer that accomplishes the means for determining an appropriate carrier based on the steps of means for compiling at least one of shipment and material information, and means for rating, and means for compiling information concerning one or more carriers, and means for evaluating the carriers.
8. A tool according to claim 1, wherein the tool further comprises notification capability to inform at least one of a shipper, receiver, and carrier of a material shipment.
9. A tool according to claim 8, where the notification capability comprises at least one of: regular mail, e-mail, telephone call, pagers, facsimile, Internet messages.
10. A shipping management process, the process comprising:
compiling at least one of shipment and material information into a system;
rating information representative of the material to be shipped;
compiling information concerning one or more carriers for the material to be shipped;
evaluating the carriers based on one or more of existing and proposed contracts, contractual terms and desired contractual obligations; and
determining an appropriate carrier based on the steps of compiling at least one of shipment and material information, and rating, and compiling information concerning one or more carriers, and evaluating the carriers.

storing information, wherein the information consists of information about one or more venues and information about one or more viewable events, determining a probability that a venue will display an event, distributing the probability to one or more users.
2. The method of claim 1, wherein the information about one or more venues further comprises the name of the venue.
3. The method of claim 1, wherein the information about one or more viewable events further comprises the type of the viewable event.
4. The method of claim 1, wherein the users access the probability by using a computing device.
5. The method of claim 4, wherein the computing device contains an application that allows the users to access the probability.
6. The method of claim 1, wherein the information about one or more venues is entered into a prediction engine by the venue or by the users.
7. The method of claim 1, wherein the information about one or more viewable events is entered into a prediction engine by the venue or by the users.
8. The method of claim 1, wherein the probability allows users to find a venue that is likely to display a viewable event.
9. A system for predicting viewable events comprising:
a prediction engine that generates a probability, one or more databases configured to store information about a plurality of venues and a plurality of viewable events, and an application that allows a user to retrieve the probability from the prediction engine to determine the likelihood a venue will display a viewable event.
10. The system of claim 9, wherein the information about a plurality of viewable events includes information about the type of viewable events.
11. The system of claim 9, wherein the information about a plurality of venues includes the name of the venue.
12. The system of claim 9, wherein the application is executed on a computing device.
13. The system of claim 9, wherein the application further comprises a check-in function.
14. The system of claim 9, wherein the information in the one or more databases is populated by one or more users or venues.
15. A method for predicting viewable events comprising:
receiving viewable event information, receiving venue information, generating a prediction that a venue will display a viewable event, transmitting the prediction to a user.
16. The method of claim 15, wherein the viewable event information includes the type of the event.
17. The method of claim 15, wherein the venue information includes the name of the venue.
18. The method of claim 15, wherein the prediction is a probability of whether a venue will display a viewable event.
19. The method of claim 15, wherein the viewable event information and the venue information is stored in one or more databases.
20. The method of claim 15, wherein the user uses a computer application to receive the prediction.

1. A deformable system comprising a part generally in the shape of a rectangular block coupled to an actuator enabling the part to be deformed by generating curvature in its long direction, wherein said part presents a main portion to be deformed, the main portion carrying projections at its ends, each projection extending in a direction transverse to said long direction between an end of said part and a free end of said projection such that, in longitudinal section, the part presents an elongate U-shape, and wherein the actuator presents levers, each lever presenting two bearing points that are spaced apart along the transverse direction of a projection, namely a first outside bearing point and a second bearing point disposed on an inside portion of said projection, so that each lever acts on said projections in order to transmit a lever force thereto in such a manner as to deform the part.
2. A system according to claim 1, wherein each lever presents at least one said bearing point constituted by at least one rigid plane part, said plane part co-operating with at least one ball for transmitting the force that is to be applied.
3. A system according to claim 2, wherein at least one ball is centered by spring blades distributed around its periphery.
4. A system according to claim 1, wherein said second bearing point is spaced apart from the first bearing point towards a free end of said projection.
5. A system according to claim 4, wherein the first bearing point is adjacent to the face of the main portion of the part that is opposite from said projections.
6. A system according to claim 2, wherein the first andor second bearing point comprises two of said rigid plane parts.

said first control unit, in response to an instruction to said display apparatus to enter a standby state from a power-on state, after sending predetermined information that should be displayed on said second display unit to said second control unit, powers itself off, and
said second control unit stores the predetermined information that should be displayed on said second display unit, which it received from said first control unit, in a storage unit, and
said second control unit, in response to an instruction to said display apparatus to enter the power-on state from the standby state, outputs a power-on request to said first control unit, reads out the predetermined information that should be displayed on said second display unit from said storage unit, and causes the predetermined information to be displayed on said second display unit, and
wherein the predetermined information to be displayed on said second display unit is at least one of information regarding a source of the video image being displayed on said first display unit when the instruction to enter the standby state is received and information regarding a volume level when the instruction to enter the standby state is received.
2. The display apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising:
a first memory unit accessible from said first control unit; and
a second memory unit accessible from said second control unit, and
wherein a start-up time of said second control unit is shorter than that of said first control unit.
3. A display apparatus having a first display unit, a second display unit, a first control unit which controls first display unit, and a second control unit which controls said second display unit, wherein:
said first control unit, in response to an instruction to said display apparatus to enter a standby state from a power-on state, after storing predetermined information that should be displayed on said second display unit to a storage unit, powers itself off;
said second control unit, in response to an instruction to said display apparatus to enter the power-on state from the standby state, sends a power-on request to said first control unit;
in response to the power-on request, said first control unit, before executing start-up processing, reads out the predetermined information that should be displayed on said second display unit from said storage unit, and sends it to said second control unit; and
said second control unit causes the predetermined information that should be displayed on said second display unit, which was received from said first control unit, to be displayed on said second display unit, and
wherein the predetermined information to be displayed on said second display unit is at least one of information regarding a source of the video image being displayed on said first display unit when the instruction to enter the standby state is received and information regarding a volume level when the instruction to enter the standby state is received.
4. The display apparatus according to claim 3, further comprising:
a first memory unit accessible from said first control unit; and
a second memory unit accessible from said second control unit, and
wherein a start-up time of said second control unit is shorter than that of said first control unit.
5. A display apparatus having a first display unit, a second display unit, a first control unit which controls said first display unit, and a second control unit which controls said second display unit, wherein:
in a standby state in which said first control unit is in a power-off state and said second control unit is in a power-on state, when said second control unit receives a reservation information confirmation request, said second control unit, without starting up said first control unit, reads out reservation information stored in advance in a storage unit, which is accessible from said second control unit in the standby state, and causes the reservation information to be displayed on said second display unit.
6. The display apparatus according to claim 5, wherein said storage unit, which is accessible from said second control unit in the standby state, is a shared memory accessible from both said first control unit and said second control unit, and the reservation information is written to said shared memory by said first control unit.
7. A control method of a display apparatus having a first display unit, a second display unit, a first control unit which controls said first display unit, a second control unit which controls said second display unit, the method comprising:
a step in which said first control unit, in response to an instruction to said display apparatus to enter a standby state from a power-on state, sending predetermined information that should be displayed on said second display unit to a second control unit, and then powering itself off;
a step in which said second control unit saving the predetermined information that should be displayed on said second display unit, which was received from said first control unit, to a storage unit; and
a step in which in response to an instruction to enter the power-on state from the standby state, said second control unit sending a power-on request to said first control unit, reading out the predetermined information that should be displayed on said second display unit, and causing the predetermined information to be displayed on said second display unit, and
wherein the predetermined information to be displayed on said second display unit is at least one of information regarding a source of the video image being displayed on said first display unit when the instruction to enter the standby state is received and information regarding a volume level when the instruction to enter the standby state is received.
8. The control method according to claim 7, wherein said display apparatus further comprises:
a first memory unit accessible from said first control unit; and
a second memory unit accessible from said second control unit, and
wherein a start-up time of said second control unit is shorter than that of said first control unit.
9. A control method of a display apparatus having a first display unit, a second display unit, a first control unit which controls said first display unit, a second control unit which controls said second display unit, the method comprising:
a step in which said first control unit, in response to an instruction to said display apparatus to enter a standby state from a power-on state, saving predetermined information that should be displayed on said second display unit in a storage unit, then powering itself off;
a step in which said second control unit, in response to an instruction to said display apparatus to enter the power-on state from the standby state, sending a power-on request to said first control unit;
a step in which said first control unit, in response to the power-on request, before start-up processing, reading out the predetermined information that should be displayed on said second display unit from said storage unit and sending the predetermined information to said second control unit; and
a step in which said second control unit receiving from said first control unit the predetermined information that should be displayed on said second display unit and causing the predetermined information to be displayed on said second display unit, and
wherein the predetermined information to be displayed on said second display unit is at least one of information regarding a source of the video image being displayed on said first display unit when the instruction to enter the standby state is received and information regarding a volume level when the instruction to enter the standby state is received.
10. The control method according to claim 9, wherein said display apparatus further comprises:
a first memory unit accessible from said first control unit; and
a second memory unit accessible from said second control unit, and
wherein a start-up time of said second control unit is shorter than that of said first control unit.
11. A control method of a display apparatus having a first display unit, a second display unit, a first control unit which controls said first display unit, a second control unit which controls said second display unit, the method comprising:
a step in which in a standby state in which said first control unit is in power-off state and said second control unit is in power-on state, when said second control unit receives a reservation information confirmation request, said second control unit, without starting up said first control unit, reading out reservation information stored in advance in a storage unit accessible by said second control unit in the standby state; and
a step in which said second control unit causing the reservation information to be displayed on said second display unit.
12. The control method according to claim 11, wherein said storage unit, which is accessible from said second control unit in the standby state, is a shared memory accessible from both said first control unit and said second control unit, and the reservation information is written to said shared memory by said first control unit.
