A packaging article, comprising a peel seal film comprising a substantially biodegradable substrate and a coating comprising at least one copolymer of lactic acid and caprolactone, the peel seal film being sealed to itself andor to a secondary substrate in a peelable manner to enclose a packaged product, wherein the coating of the peel seal film additionally comprises nitrocellulose.
2. The packaging article according to claim 1, wherein nitrocellulose is present in an amount of less than 40% ww of the dry weight of the coating composition.
3. A packaging article according to claim 1, wherein the secondary substrate comprises part of the packaging article formed from PLA or from a composition comprising PLA.
4. A packaging article according to claim 1, wherein the packaging article is a container having at least one opening, and the peel seal film is sealed over said opening to close the container in an openable manner.
5. A packaging article according to claim 4, wherein the container is a rigid tray.
6. A packaging article according to claim 1, wherein the coating of the peel seal film comprises at least one wax.
7. A packaging article according to claim 6, wherein the wax is present in an amount of less than 10% the dry weight of the coating composition.
8. A packaging article according to claim 1, wherein the coating of the peel seal film comprises an antiblock additive.
9. A packaging article according to claim 8, wherein the antiblock additive is present in an amount of less than about 5% ww of the dry weight of the coating composition.
10. The packaging article according to claim 1, wherein the at least one copolymer has a Tg in the range of from about \u221210\xb0 C. to about 50\xb0 C.
11. The packaging article according to claim 1, wherein the at least one copolymer has a molecular weight in the range of from about 20,000 to about 50,000.
12. The packaging article according to claim 1, wherein the at least one copolymer has a hydroxyl group value in the range of from about 2 KOH mgg to about 15 KOH mgg.
13. The packaging article according to claim 1, wherein the peel seal film is transparent with wide angle haze of less than about 10%.
14. A packaging article, comprising a peel seal film comprising a substantially biodegradable substrate and a coating comprising at least one copolymer of lactic acid and caprolactone, the peel seal film being sealed to itself andor to a secondary substrate in a peelable manner to enclose a packaged product, wherein the coating of the peel seal film comprises a styrenic copolymer.
15. The packaging article according to claim 14, wherein the styrenic copolymer is present in an amount of less than about 3% ww of the dry weight of the coating composition.
16. The packaging article according to claim 14, wherein the at least one copolymer has a Tg in the range of from about \u221210\xb0 C. to about 50\xb0 C.
17. The packaging article according to claim 14, wherein the at least one copolymer has a molecular weight in the range of from about 20,000 to about 50,000.
18. The packaging article according to claim 14, wherein the at least one copolymer has a hydroxyl group value in the range of from about 2 KOH mgg to about 15 KOH mgg.
19. The packaging article according to claim 14, wherein the peel seal film is transparent with wide angle haze of less than about 10%.

We claim:

1. A method for detecting the open condition of a displaceable gate of a crib and detecting the sounds of an infant in the crib, said method comprising the steps of:
coupling a first member comprising a transmitter and a microphone to the crib, said transmitter transmitting a wireless signal to a remote device representative of the sounds of the infant in the crib and said remote device providing an audible version of the sounds of the infant;
coupling a second member to the displaceable gate;
said first member and said second member interacting with each other to modify said wireless signal to include a component representative of the open gate condition whenever the crib gate is opened; and
providing an indication at said remote device whenever said component is present in said wireless signal.
2. A method for detecting the movement of a displaceable gate of a crib, said method comprising the steps of:
(a) coupling a first member to the crib;
(b) coupling a second member to the displaceable gate;
(c) said first and second members interfacing to detect the presence of the other without using wires exposed to the crib.
3. A gate sensor for use with a baby crib having a displaceable gate that can be moved into an open or a closed position, said gate sensor detecting the open condition of the displaceable gate, said gate sensor comprising:
a first portion containing an emitterdetector coupled to the crib for emitting a first signal and detecting a second signal;
a second portion coupled to the displaceable gate, said second portion receiving said first signal and reflecting said second signal towards said first portion when the displaceable gate is closed;
said first and second portions having no electrical conductors exposed to the baby crib.
4. A gate sensor for use with a baby crib having a displaceable gate that can be moved into an open or a closed position, said gate sensor detecting the open condition of the displaceable gate, said gate sensor comprising:
a first portion containing an emitter coupled to the crib for emitting a first signal;
a second portion coupled to the displaceable gate, said second portion comprising a detector for detecting said said first signal;
said first and second portions having no electrical conductors exposed to the baby crib.
5. A gate sensor for use with a baby crib having a displaceable gate that can be moved into an open or a closed position, said gate sensor detecting the open condition of the displaceable gate, said gate sensor comprising:
a first portion containing an emitterdetector coupled to the displaceable gate for emitting a first signal and detecting a second signal;
a second portion coupled to the crib, said second portion receiving said first signal and reflecting said second signal towards said first portion when the displaceable gate is closed;
said first and second portions having no electrical conductors exposed to the baby crib.
6. A gate sensor for use with a baby crib having a displaceable gate that can be moved into an open or a closed position, said gate sensor detecting the open condition of the displaceable gate, said gate sensor comprising:
a first portion containing an emitter coupled to the displaceable gate for emitting a first signal;
a second portion coupled to the crib, said second portion comprising a detector for detecting said said first signal;
said first and second portions having no electrical conductors exposed to the baby crib.

1. A media logging system for indexing media, comprising:
a timer object that provides a time reference upon request in connection with the media; and
a logger object that logs predefined events that occur in the media by associating the events with respective time reference from the timer object.
2. The logging system of claim 1, wherein the logger object includes a graphical user interface having a plurality of interface objects that can be selected by a user of the logging system in order to log events that occur in the media.
3. The logging system of claim 2, wherein the interface objects include labels thereon corresponding to predetermined events that may typically occur in the particular media being logged.
4. The logging system of claim 2, wherein the logging system is adapted for use in logging a sporting event and the interface objects correspond to events that occur during the sporting event
5. The logging system of claim 1, wherein the graphical user interface is customizable to correspond to types of events that occur in the particular media being logged.
6. The logging system of claim 1, wherein the system includes an arrangement that automatically logs predefined events in the media being logged based on video analysis.
7. The logging system of claim 1, wherein the system includes an arrangement that automatically logs predefined events based on text analysis.
8. The logging system of claim 1, wherein the system includes an arrangement that automatically logs predefined events based on audio analysis.
9. The logging system of claim 1, wherein the system includes a video server that captures logged events and digitally stored the captured events as media segments.
10. The logging system of claim 9, wherein the user interface includes a feature that enables the media segments to be selectively retrieved and viewed.
11. The logging system of claim 10, wherein the feature includes a search engine that enables logged events to be searched using various search parameters.
12. A media asset management system for managing media assets, comprising:
a logging application that creates indexes of events that occur in the media;
a video server that captures and digitally stores events logged by the logging application as media segments; and
a search and retrieval engine that enables the media segments to be located and retrieved based on the indexes.
13. The media asset management system of claim 12, wherein the logging application includes a graphical user interface that enables a user to select predefined events that occur in the media to be indexed.
14. The media asset management system of claim 13, wherein the graphical user interface includes interface objects having labels thereon corresponding to predefined events that typically occur in the particular media being logged by the logging application.
15. The media asset management system of claim 14, wherein the logging application is adapted for use in logging a sporting event and the interface objects correspond to events that occur during the sporting event.
16. The media asset management system of claim 12, wherein the video server includes an arrangement that automatically logs predefined events based on video analysis.
17. The media asset management system of claim 12, herein the video server includes an arrangement that automatically logs predefined events based on text analysis.
18. The media asset management system of claim 12, wherein the video server includes an arrangement that automatically logs predefined events based on audio analysis;
19. The media asset management system of claim 13, wherein the user interface includes a feature that enables the media segments to be viewed.
20. A customizable media asset management system for managing media assets, comprising:
a logging application that creates indexes of events that occur in the media;
a video server that captures and digitally stores events logged by the logging application as media segments; and
a graphical user interface generator that creates customized user interfaces for the logging application based on information entered in a database.
21. The customizable media asset management system of claim 20, wherein the graphical user interface generator generates user interface objects for a logging screen for use by a user when using the logging application.
22. The customizable media asset management system of claim 20, wherein the creation of the customized user interface is database driven.
23. The customizable media asset management system of claim 20, wherein the user interface generator is further operable to dynamically generate a logging database for use by said logging application.

1. A flavored liquid beverage concentrate having a low water content, the concentrate comprising:
about 5 to about 50 percent acidulant;
about 0.5 to about 40 percent flavoring;
0 to about 30 percent water; and
non-aqueous liquid in an amount effective to provide a total non-aqueous liquid content of about 20 to about 94.5 by weight of the concentrate,
the amount of acidulant and flavoring included at a ratio of at least about 0.1:1, and for concentrates containing water, the acidulant and water are included in a ratio of at least about 0.25:1, and the flavored liquid beverage concentrate containing less dissociated acid and retaining more flavor than an otherwise identical concentrate including water instead of non-aqueous liquid after storage in a closed container at room temperature for at least about three months.
2. The flavored liquid beverage concentrate according to claim 1, wherein the non-aqueous liquid is selected from the group consisting of propylene glycol, glycerol, ethanol, triacetin, ethyl acetate, benzyl alcohol, vegetable oil, isopropanol, 1,3-propanediol, and combinations thereof.
3. The flavored liquid beverage concentrate according to claim 1, wherein the acidulant is an selected from the group consisting of citric acid, malic acid, succinic acid, acetic acid, hydrochloric acid, adipic acid, tartaric acid, fumaric acid, phosphoric acid, lactic acid, salts thereof, and combinations thereof.
4. The flavored liquid beverage concentrate according to claim 1, wherein the acidulant and water are included in a ratio of at least about 0.5:1.
5. The flavored liquid beverage concentrate according to claim 1, wherein the acidulant and water are included in a ratio of at least about 1:1.
6. The flavored liquid beverage concentrate according to claim 1, wherein the acidulant and water are included in a ratio of at least about 2:1.
7. The flavored liquid beverage concentrate according to claim 1, wherein the concentrate is in the form of a suspension.
8. The flavored liquid beverage concentrate according to claim 1, wherein the concentrate is in the form of a solution and the acidulant is dissolved in the non-aqueous liquid.
9. The flavored liquid beverage concentrate according to claim 1, wherein the flavoring includes a flavor key, and the acidulant and flavor key are provided in a ratio of about 1:2 to about 10,000:1.
10. The flavored liquid beverage concentrate according to claim 9, wherein the acidulant and flavor key are provided in a ratio of about 1:1 to about 4000:1.
11. The flavored liquid beverage concentrate of claim 1, wherein the concentrate has a water activity of less than about 0.6.
12. The flavored liquid beverage concentrate of claim 1, wherein the concentrate includes less than about 20 percent water.
13. The flavored liquid beverage concentrate of claim 1, wherein the concentrate includes less than about 15 percent water.
14. The flavored liquid beverage concentrate of claim 1, wherein the concentrate includes less than about 10 percent water.
15. The flavored liquid beverage concentrate of claim 1, wherein the concentrate includes between about 15 to about 30 percent water and further comprises about 0.5 to about 10.0 percent buffer.
16. The flavored liquid beverage concentrate of claim 1, wherein the concentrate has a concentration such that when diluted with a potable liquid at a ratio of about 1:75 to about 1:160 to provide a beverage, the concentrate delivers about 0.01 to 0.8 percent acid by weight of the beverage.
17. A flavored liquid beverage concentrate having a low water content, the concentrate comprising:
about 5 to about 50 percent acidulant;
about 0.5 to about 40 percent flavoring;
less than about 5 percent water; and
non-aqueous liquid in an amount effective to provide a total non-aqueous liquid content of about 20 to about 94.5 by weight of the concentrate,
the amount of acidulant and flavoring included at a ratio of at least about 0.1:1, and for concentrates containing water, the acidulant and water are included in a ratio of at least about 0.25:1, and the flavored liquid beverage concentrate containing less dissociated acid and retaining more flavor than an otherwise identical concentrate including water instead of non-aqueous liquid after storage in a closed container at room temperature for at least about three months
18. The flavored liquid beverage concentrate of claim 17, wherein the concentrate includes a total content of non-aqueous liquid of about 35 to about 80 percent by weight of the concentrate.
19. The flavored liquid beverage concentrate of claim 1, wherein the concentrate includes less than 1 percent water.
20. The flavored liquid beverage concentrate of claim 17, wherein the concentrate includes less than 0.5 percent water.
21. The flavored liquid beverage concentrate according to claim 17, wherein the flavoring includes a flavor key, and the acidulant and flavor key are provided in a ratio of about 1:2 to about 10,000:1.
22. The flavored liquid beverage concentrate according to claim 21, wherein the acidulant and flavor key are provided in a ratio of about 1:1 to about 4000:1.
