1. An apparatus comprising:
a frame;
an interior chamber formed in the frame adapted to receive an item of merchandise;
a first security feature for preventing removal of the item of merchandise from the frame;
a second security feature comprising a solid item-engaging member in the interior chamber for damaging the item of merchandise upon defeat of the first security feature;
a lid mounted on the frame and movable between open and closed positions;
a lock slide of the first security feature which is slidable between an unlocked position and a locked position to selectively lock the lid to the frame in the closed position to prevent removal of the item of merchandise from the frame;
an opening formed through the lid;
a finger tab which is an integral part of the lock slide and moves therewith, and which is manually engageable via the opening when the lid is in the closed position; and
a locking member movable between a first position which allows the lock slide with its finger tab to slide between the unlocked and locked positions and a second position which secures the lock slide with its finger tab in the locked position;
a first lock tab rigidly mounted on the frame;
a second lock tab movably mounted on the frame adjacent and aligned with the first lock tab;
a third lock tab on the lock slide; and
wherein the third lock tab engages the first lock tab in the locked position to lock the lid to the frame in the closed position and is disengaged from the first lock tab in the unlocked position to allow the lid to move from the closed position to the open position;

and
upon fracture of the first lock tab, the third lock tab engages the second lock tab to prevent the lid from moving to the open position.
2. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the frame comprises a sidewall bounding the interior chamber; the solid item-engaging member is mounted on the sidewall and movable upon defeat of the first security feature from an inactivated position adapted to be out of contact with the item of merchandise in a direction away from the sidewall to an activated position adapted to engage the item of merchandise to damage it.
3. The apparatus of claim 1 in combination with the item of merchandise; and wherein the solid item-engaging member engages the item of merchandise to damage it upon defeat of the first security feature.
4. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the item-engaging member is movable between from an inactivated position adapted to be out of contact with the item of merchandise and an activated position adapted to engage the item of merchandise to damage it.
5. An apparatus comprising:
a frame;
an interior chamber formed in the frame adapted to receive an item of merchandise;
a first security feature for preventing removal of the item of merchandise from the frame;
a second security feature comprising a solid item-engaging member in the interior chamber for damaging the item of merchandise upon defeat of the first security feature; and
a sharp tip on the solid item-engaging member adapted to tear into the item of merchandise.
6. The apparatus of claim 5 further comprising a sidewall on the frame bounding the interior chamber; and
a plurality of ribs on the frame which are secured to the sidewall and extend inwardly therefrom into the interior chamber, which are fixed relative to the sidewall, and which are adapted to force the item of merchandise against the item-engaging member; and
wherein the first security feature comprises a lid which is mounted on the frame and movable relative to the frame and ribs between a closed position for preventing removal of the item of merchandise from the frame and an open position for allowing removal of the item of merchandise from the frame.
7. The apparatus of claim 5 further comprising a lid mounted on the frame and movable between open and closed positions; a lock slide of the first security feature which is slidable between an unlocked position and a locked position to selectively lock the lid to the frame in the closed position to prevent removal of the item of merchandise from the frame; an opening formed through the lid; and a finger tab which is an integral part of the lock slide and moves therewith, and which is manually engageable via the opening when the lid is in the closed position; and a locking member movable between a first position which allows the lock slide with its finger tab to slide between the unlocked and locked positions and a second position which secures the lock slide with its finger tab in the locked position.
8. The apparatus of claim 6 in combination with the item of merchandise; and wherein the ribs engage the item of merchandise when the lid is in the open position.
9. An apparatus comprising:
a frame;
an interior chamber formed in the frame adapted to receive an item of merchandise;
a first security feature for preventing removal of the item of merchandise from the frame;
a second security feature comprising a solid item-engaging member in the interior chamber for damaging the item of merchandise upon defeat of the first security feature; and
wherein the item-engaging member comprises a cantilevered first prong which in the activated position is adapted to engage the item of merchandise to damage it.
10. The apparatus of claim 9 further comprising a cantilevered second prong which in the activated position is adapted to engage the item of merchandise to damage it; a free end on the first prong extending in a first direction; and a free end on the second prong extending in a second direction generally opposite the first direction.
11. An apparatus comprising:
a frame;
an interior chamber formed in the frame adapted to receive an item of merchandise;
a first security feature for preventing removal of the item of merchandise from the frame;
a second security feature comprising a solid item-engaging member in the interior chamber for damaging the item of merchandise upon defeat of the first security feature; wherein the item-engaging member is movable between from an inactivated position adapted to be out of contact with the item of merchandise and an activated position adapted to engage the item of merchandise to damage it; and
a cover member in the interior chamber movable between an inactivated position in which the cover member blocks the item-engaging member from moving to its activated position and an activated position in which the cover member allows the item-engaging member to move to its activated position.
12. The apparatus of claim 11 further comprising an opening formed through the cover member; and wherein the item-engaging member moves through the opening between its activated and inactivated positions.
13. The apparatus of claim 11 further comprising a stop mounted on one of the frame and cover member for engaging the other of the frame and cover member to prevent the cover member from moving from its activated position to its inactivated position.
14. The apparatus of claim 11 wherein the cover member moves to its activated position only when a portion of the first security feature is fractured.
15. The apparatus of claim 11 further comprising a lid mounted on the frame and movable between a closed position and an open position; and wherein the cover member is linked to the lid to prevent the lid from moving to the open position upon defeat of the first security feature.
16. The apparatus of claim 15 further comprising a first locking member of the first security feature carried by the frame; and a second locking member of the first security feature carried by the lid and selectively lockably engageable with the first locking member to selectively lock the lid in the closed position; and wherein the cover member engages the second locking member to prevent the lid from moving to the open position upon defeat of the first security feature.
17. The apparatus of claim 16 further comprising a plurality of first lock tabs on the cover member; and a plurality of second lock tabs on the second locking member for respectively engaging the first lock tabs to prevent the lid from moving to the open position upon defeat of the first security feature.
18. The apparatus of claim 17 further comprising a plurality of third lock tabs on the first locking member for respectively engaging the second lock tabs to lock the lid in the closed position.
19. The apparatus of claim 11 wherein the cover member is a substantially flat plate.
20. The apparatus of claim 19 wherein the frame comprises a substantially flat sidewall bounding the interior chamber; and the plate is mounted on and parallel to the sidewall.
21. An apparatus comprising:
a frame;
an interior chamber formed in the frame adapted to receive an item of merchandise;
a first security feature for preventing removal of the item of merchandise from the frame;
a second security feature comprising a solid item-engaging member in the interior chamber for damaging the item of merchandise upon defeat of the first security feature; wherein the item-engaging member is movable between from an inactivated position adapted to be out of contact with the item of merchandise and an activated position adapted to engage the item of merchandise to damage it; and
a cover member in the interior chamber movable between an inactivated position and an activated position in which the cover member engages the item-engaging member to force the item-engaging member toward its activated position.
22. An apparatus comprising:
a frame adapted to receive and display an item of merchandise;
an interior chamber formed in the frame;
a lid mounted on the frame and movable between open and closed positions; the lid having inner and outer surfaces; the inner surface defining an internal cavity;
a first security feature comprising a lock slide which is slidable between an unlocked position and a locked position to selectively lock the lid to the frame in the closed position to prevent removal of the item of merchandise from the interior chamber; wherein the lock slide is disposed within the internal cavity in the unlocked and locked positions;
a second security feature for damaging or preventing removal of the item of merchandise from the interior chamber upon defeat of the first security feature;
an opening formed through the lid from the inner surface to the outer surface and communicating with the internal cavity;
a finger tab which is an integral part of the lock slide and moves therewith, and which is manually engageable via the opening when the lid is in the closed position;
a locking member movable between a first position which allows the lock slide with its finger tab to slide between the unlocked and locked positions and a second position which secures the lock slide with its finger tab in the locked position;
a first lock tab rigidly mounted on the frame;
a second lock tab movably mounted on the frame adjacent and aligned with the first lock tab;
a third lock tab on the lock slide;
wherein the third lock tab engages the first lock tab in the locked position to lock the lid to the frame in the closed position and is disengaged from the first lock tab in the unlocked position to allow the lid to move from the closed position to the open position:

and
upon fracture of the first lock tab, the third lock tab engages the second lock tab to prevent the lid from moving to the open position.
23. The apparatus of claim 22 wherein the opening in the lid is externally visible in the unlocked and locked positions.
24. An apparatus comprising:
a frame;
an interior chamber formed in the frame adapted to receive an item of merchandise;
a first security feature for preventing removal of the item of merchandise from the frame;
a second security feature comprising a solid item-engaging member in the interior chamber for damaging the item of merchandise upon defeat of the first security feature;
a lid mounted on the frame and movable between a closed position and a fully open position;
a linked portion of the second security feature which is movably mounted on the frame and which is linked to the lid to move therewith in a first direction upon defeat of the first security feature and movement of the lid from the closed position to a partially open position; wherein the linked portion secures the lid to the frame in the partially open position to prevent the lid from moving from the partially open position to the fully open position; and
a stop mounted on one of the frame and the second security feature which moves from an inactivated position to an activated position in response to movement of the linked portion in the first direction; and wherein the stop in the activated position engages the other of the frame and second security feature to provide a physical interference which physically blocks movement of the linked portion in a second direction opposite the first direction.
25. The apparatus of claim 24 wherein the other of the frame and second security feature comprises a first ledge; and the stop is engageable with the first ledge in the activated position to provide the physical interference which physically blocks movement of the linked portion in the second direction.
26. The apparatus of claim 25 wherein the other of the frame and second security feature comprises a second ledge parallel to and offset from the first ledge; and the stop is engageable with the second ledge in the activated position to provide the physical interference which physically blocks movement of the linked portion in the second direction.
27. The apparatus of claim 24 wherein the first security feature comprises a lock slide which is slidably mounted on the lid to slide between a locked position to lock the lid to the frame in the closed position and an unlocked position to allow the lid to move from the closed position to the fully open position; and the linked portion engages the lock slide in the partially open position to prevent the lid from moving from the partially open position to the fully open position.
28. An apparatus comprising:
a frame adapted to receive and display an item of merchandise;
an interior chamber formed in the frame;
a lid mounted on the frame and movable between open and closed positions;
a first security feature comprising a lock slide which is slidable between an unlocked position and a locked position to selectively lock the lid to the frame in the closed position to prevent removal of the item of merchandise from the interior chamber;
a second security feature for damaging or preventing removal of the item of merchandise from the interior chamber upon defeat of the first security feature;
an opening formed through the lid;
a finger tab which is an integral part of the lock slide and moves therewith, and which is manually engageable via the opening when the lid is in the closed position;
a locking member movable between a first position which allows the lock slide with its finger tab to slide between the unlocked and locked positions and a second position which secures the lock slide with its finger tab in the locked position;
a security member on the second security feature mounted on the frame within the interior chamber and movable relative to the frame;
a plurality of first lock tabs on the lock slide; and
a plurality of second lock tabs on the security member which respectively lockably engage the first lock tabs when the lock slide is in the locked position and respectively release the first lock tabs when the lock slide is in the unlocked position.
29. An apparatus comprising:
a frame;
an interior chamber formed in the frame adapted to receive an item of merchandise;
a first security feature for preventing removal of the item of merchandise from the frame;
a second security feature comprising a solid item-engaging member in the interior chamber for damaging the item of merchandise upon defeat of the first security feature;
a lid mounted on the frame and movable between a closed position and an open position;
a linked portion of the second security feature which is linked to the lid to move therewith in a first direction upon defeat of the first security feature and movement of the lid from the closed position to a partially open position; and
a stop mounted on one of the frame and the second security feature which moves from an inactivated position to an activated position in response to movement of the linked portion in the first direction; and wherein the stop in the activated position engages the other of the frame and second security feature to provide a physical interference which physically blocks movement of the linked portion in a second direction opposite the first direction; and
wherein a cantilevered prong serves as the stop.
30. The apparatus of claim 29 further comprising a prong plate mounted in the interior chamber; and wherein the prong is cantilevered from the prong plate.
31. The apparatus of claim 29 wherein the other of the frame and second security feature comprises a first ledge; and the prong is engageable with the first ledge in the activated position to provide the physical interference which physically blocks movement of the linked portion in the second direction.
32. The apparatus of claim 31 wherein the other of the frame and second security feature comprises a second ledge parallel to and offset from the first ledge; and the prong is engageable with the second ledge in the activated position to provide the physical interference which physically blocks movement of the linked portion in the second direction.

What is claimed is:

1. A hydraulic shovel, comprising a main boom rising and descending on a revolving frame, a stick boom linked to the distal end of the main boom and swinging in a vertical direction, and a bucket attached to the distal end of the stick boom and swinging similarly in a vertical direction, wherein the main boom, the stick boom and the bucket are respectively operated independently by operation cylinders, and stick boom rotation prevention means for preventing the stick boom from free fall by maintaining a bottom side hold pressure is provided on a bottom side of the cylinder for the stick boom.
2. A hydraulic shovel according to claim 1, wherein bucket rotation prevention means for preventing the bucket from free fall by maintaining the bottom side hold pressure when a bucket cylinder is extended is provided at least on the bottom side of the bucket cylinder.
3. A hydraulic shovel according to claim 1 or 2, wherein bucket rotation prevention means for preventing the bucket from free fall by maintaining the head side hold pressure when the bucket cylinder is retracted is provided at least on the head side of the bucket cylinder.
4. A hydraulic shovel according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein a hoisting hook is rotatably supported between a pair of right and left bucket landcells protruding from the rear wall section of the bucket outwardly.
5. A hydraulic shovel according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein a hoisting hook is hung from a stick boom top pin for attaching the bucket to a distal end section of the stick boom.
6. A hydraulic shovel according to claim 5, wherein:
a distal end face opposite to the back face of the stick boom comprises a hoisting hook receiving section having an opening and being capable of housing the hoisting hook;
a reinforcement member disposed around a peripheral section of the opening; and
an engagement member for engaging a hook section of the hoisting hook by hanging; wherein the stick boom top pin is rotatably supported at a distal end of the stick boom; and
a base end of the hoisting hook is supported by the stick boom top pin.
7. A hydraulic shovel according to claim 6, wherein the hoisting hook is linked to a hook rotation driving mechanism for rotating about the stick boom top pin.

1. An apparatus for sanitizing a point-of-contact surface, comprising:
a housing configured to be affixed about at least a portion of said point-of-contact surface, having an interior in or through which said point-of-contact surface may be accessed and an anterior opening for access to said interior; and
one or more sources of a sanitizing agent configured to direct said sanitizing agent toward a location where at least a portion of said point-of-contact surface may be disposed.
2. The apparatus of claim 1, said housing further comprising an inner surface configured to reflect said sanitizing agent toward a location where at least a portion of said point-of-contact surface may be disposed.
3. The apparatus of claim 2, wherein said inner surface is substantially cylindrical.
4. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising a protective screen configured to separate at least one of said sources of a sanitizing agent from a central portion of said interior in or through which said point-of-contact surface may be accessed.
5. The apparatus of claim 4, wherein said protective screen is substantially cylindrical.
6. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising:
a posterior opening through which at least a portion of said point-of-contact surface may extend into said interior; and
a posterior surface configured to reflect said sanitizing agent toward a location where at least a portion of said point-of-contact surface may be disposed.
7. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising an anterior dome configured to reflect said sanitizing agent toward a location where at least a portion of said point-of-contact surface may be disposed.
8. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising one or more attachment structures for affixing said housing about at least a portion of said point-of-contact surface.
9. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein at least one of said one or more sources of a sanitizing agent is a source of germicidal ultraviolet (UV) light.
10. A system for sanitizing a point-of-contact surface, comprising:
an apparatus configured to be affixed about at least a portion of said point-of-contact surface, comprising one or more sources of a sanitizing agent and having at least a first operating state in which said apparatus directs a first amount of said sanitizing agent toward said surface and a second operating state in which said apparatus directs a second amount of said sanitizing agent toward said surface; and
a switch configured to change the operating state of said apparatus.
11. The system of claim 10, wherein said switch comprises a motion sensor.
12. The system of claim 10, wherein said switch comprises a manual switch.
13. The system of claim 10, wherein said switch comprises a remote activation system comprising:
a remote control; and
a receiver coupled with said apparatus and responsive to said remote control.
14. The system of claim 10, wherein said switch comprises a timer.
15. The system of claim 10, wherein at least one of said one or more sources of a sanitizing agent is a source of germicidal ultraviolet (UV) light.
16. A system for sanitizing a point-of-contact surface, comprising:
an apparatus comprising:
a housing configured to be affixed about at least a portion of said point-of-contact surface, having an interior in or through which said point-of-contact surface may be accessed and an anterior opening for access to said interior; and
one or more sources of a sanitizing agent;

wherein said apparatus has at least a first operating state in which said apparatus directs a first amount of said sanitizing agent toward a location where at least a portion of said point-of-contact surface may be disposed and a second operating state in which said apparatus directs a second amount of said sanitizing agent toward said location; and
a switch configured to change the operating state of said apparatus.
17. The system of claim 16, wherein said switch comprises a motion sensor.
18. The system of claim 17, wherein said switch further comprises a timer.
19. The system of claim 18, wherein at least one of said one or more sources of a sanitizing agent is a source of germicidal ultraviolet (UV) light.
20. The system of claim 19, wherein said apparatus further comprises a protective screen configured to divide said interior into a first compartment in which at least one of said one or more sources of a sanitizing agent is disposed, and a second compartment in or through which said opening device may be accessed.

1. An applicator for applying a cosmetic composition comprising:
an applicator element comprising a first portion having an outer surface and a second portion having an outer surface, wherein the outer surfaces of said first and second portions are separatable from one another and capable of moving independently from one another.
2. The applicator according to claim I, wherein said applicator element is elongated along a longitudinal axis.
3. The applicator according to claim 1, wherein said first portion is capable of moving independently from said second portion along said longitudinal axis.
4. The applicator according to claim 1, wherein said applicator element has a substantially cylindrical, rectangular, obloid, conical, spherical, prismatic, or lemniscoid shape.
5. The applicator according to claim I, wherein said first andor second portions of said applicator element comprise a textured surface for holding a charge of cosmetic composition and transferring it to an integument on contact therewith.
6. The applicator according to claim 5, wherein said textured surface is independently selected from the group consisting of bristles, projections, indentations, fins, tines, velcro, teeth, grooves, sponges, foam, flocked surfaces, and smooth surfaces.
7. The applicator according to claim 6, wherein said first portion of said applicator element comprises a textured surface composed of a plurality of bristles from the surface of said applicator element.
8. The applicator according to claim 1, further comprising:
a handle fixed to said first portion of said applicator element, such that said first portion cannot move in a longitudinal direction with respect to said handle.
9. The applicator according to claim I, further comprising:
a handle fixed to said second portion of said applicator element, such that said second portion cannot move in a longitudinal direction with respect to said handle.
10. The applicator according to claim 8, wherein said handle portion comprises a cap capable of being reversibly secured to a container of cosmetic composition and further comprises a rod secured to said cap at one end thereof and secured to said first portion of said applicator element at the other end thereof.
11. The applicator according to claim 10, wherein said cap comprises a trip mechanism that actuates said second portion when said cap is engaged with said container.
12. The applicator according to claim 8, further comprising:
an actuating mechanism disposed on or in said handle portion for moving said second portion along said longitudinal axis.
13. The applicator according to claim 9, wherein said handle portion comprises a cap capable of being reversibly secured to a container of cosmetic composition and further comprises a rod secured to said cap at one end thereof and secured to said second portion of said applicator element at the other end thereof.
14. The applicator according to claim 13, wherein said cap comprises a trip mechanism that actuates said first portion when said cap is engaged with said container.
15. The applicator according to claim 9, further comprising:
an actuating mechanism disposed on or in said handle portion for moving said first portion along said longitudinal axis.
16. The applicator according to claim 1, wherein said second portion of said applicator element comprises at least a portion of the terminal end of said applicator element.
17. The applicator according to claim 1, wherein said second portion of said applicator element comprises the terminal end of said applicator element.
18. The applicator according to claim 1, wherein said first portion of said applicator element comprises a cut-away therein suitably shaped to receive said second portion of said applicator element.
19. The applicator according to claim 18, wherein said first and second portions together form a substantially uniform cross-sectional profile of said applicator element.
20. The applicator according to claim 1, wherein said second portion of said applicator element is coaxial with said first portion of said applicator element.
21. A cosmetic product comprising the applicator according to claim 8 and a container charged with a cosmetic composition to which said cap is capable of being reversibly secured, said container being configured to receive said applicator element when inserted into said container, and a wiper attached to said container for removing excess cosmetic composition from said first portion andor said second portion of said applicator element upon removal of the applicator from the reservoir.
22. A cosmetic product comprising the applicator according to claim 9 and a container charged with a cosmetic composition to which said cap is capable of being reversibly secured, said container being configured to receive said applicator element when inserted into said container, and a wiper attached to said container for removing excess cosmetic composition from said first portion andor said second portion of said applicator element upon removal of the applicator from the reservoir.
23. The cosmetic product according to claim 21, wherein said cosmetic composition is an eyelash composition, lip composition or eyelid composition.
24. The cosmetic product according to claim 21, wherein said wiper comprises an annular constriction in the opening of said container.
25. The cosmetic product according to claim 21, wherein said wiper is dimensioned to remove said cosmetic composition from said first and second applicator element portions when said applicator is removed from the container.
26. An applicator for applying a cosmetic composition comprising:
a first applicator element elongated along a longitudinal axis, said first applicator element having an outer surface, and
a second applicator element disposed within and coaxial to said first applicator element, said second applicator element having an outer surface,
wherein the outer surfaces of said first and second applicator elements are separatable from one another and capable of moving independently from one another along said longitudinal axis.
27. The applicator according to claim 25, wherein said second applicator element comprises a cosmetic pencil or a brush, which is in contact with at least one outer surface of said first applicator element when said second application element is in a fully retracted position.
