What is claimed is:

1. A map information changing device for changing positions of landmarks and areas included in map information, said device comprising:
map information storage means for storing said map information at least related to roads, the landmarks, and the areas;
overlap determination means for determining whether the landmark and the area included in said map information overlap with the road included in said map information and displayed with a road width;
position change means for changing positional information of the landmark and the area determined by said overlap determination means as overlapping with one or more roads by moving each of the landmark and the area to a position at which each of the landmark and the area does not overlap with said one or more roads displayed with the road width, while keeping a location side of each of the landmark and the area with respect to a center line of each road; and
changed map information storage means for storing said map information and the positional information of the landmark and the area changed by said position change means.
2. The map information changing device according to claim 1, wherein
said position change means moves the landmark away from the center line of each of said one or more roads.
3. The map information changing device according to claim 1, wherein
said position change means moves each vertex of the area away from the center line of each of said one or more roads.
4. The map information changing device according to claim 3, wherein
said position change means deforms the area in a direction away from the center line of each of said one or more roads.
5. The map information changing device according to claim 3, wherein
said position change means translates the area away from the center line of each of said one or more roads.
6. The map information changing device according to claim 1, further comprising
map information display means for displaying, on a screen, the changed map information stored in said changed map information storage means with the road width.
7. The map information changing device according to claim 6, wherein
said overlap determination means and said position change means switch the road width to another road width based on an input from a user.
8. A navigation device comprising the map information changing device of claim 6.
9. A method for changing positions of landmarks and areas included in map information, said method comprising the steps of:
storing said map information at least related to roads, the landmarks, and the areas;
determining whether the landmark and the area included in said map information overlap with the road included in said map information and displayed with a road width;
changing positional information of the landmark and the area determined in said overlap determining step as overlapping with one or more roads by moving each of the landmark and the area to a position at which each of the landmark and the area does not overlap with said one or more roads displayed with the road width, while keeping a location side of each of the landmark and the area with respect to a center line of each road; and
storing said map information and the positional information of the landmark and the area changed in said positional information changing step.
10. The map information changing method according to claim 9, wherein
in said positional information changing step, the landmark is moved away from the center line of each of said one or more roads.
11. The map information changing method according to claim 9, wherein
in said positional information changing step, each vertex of the area is moved away from the center line of each of said one or more roads.
12. The map information changing method according to claim 12, wherein
in said positional information changing step, the area is deformed in a direction away from the center line of each of said one or more roads.
13. The map information changing method according to claim 11, wherein
in said positional information changing step, the area is translated away from the center line of each of said one or more roads.
14. A map information changing device for changing positions of roads included in map information, said device comprising:
map information storage means for storing said map information at least related to the roads, landmarks, and areas;
overlap determination means for determining whether the road included in said map information and displayed with a road width overlaps with the landmark and the area included in said map information;
position change means for changing positional information of the road determined by said overlap determination means as overlapping with one or more landmarks and areas by moving the road displayed with the road width to a position at which the road does not overlap with said one or more landmarks and areas, while keeping a location side of each of the landmarks and the areas with respect to a center line of the road; and
changed map information storage means for storing said map information and the positional information of the road changed by said position change means.
15. The map information changing device according to claim 14, wherein
said position change means moves each endpoint of a segment composing the road away from said one or more landmarks and areas.
16. The map information changing device according to claim 15, wherein
said position change means translates the road away from said one or more landmarks and areas.
17. The map information changing device according to claim 15, wherein
said position change means moves one endpoint of the segment composing the road away from said one or more landmarks and areas.
18. The map information changing device according to claim 14, further comprising
map information display means for displaying, on a screen, the changed map information stored in said changed map information storage means with the road width.
19. The map information changing device according to claim 18, wherein
said overlap determination means and said position change means switch the road width to another road width based on an input from a user.
20. A navigation device comprising the map information changing device of claim 18.
21. A method for changing positions of roads included in map information, said method comprising the steps of:
storing said map information at least related to the roads, landmarks, and areas;
determining whether the road included in said map information and displayed with a road width overlaps with the landmark and the area included in said map information;
changing positional information of the road determined in said overlap determining step as overlapping with one or more landmarks and areas by moving the road displayed with the road width to a position at which the road does not overlap with said one or more landmarks and areas, while keeping a location side of each of the landmarks and the areas with respect to a center line of the road; and
storing said map information and the positional information of the road changed in said positional information changing step.
22. The map information changing method according to claim 21, wherein
in said positional information changing step, each endpoint of a segment composing the road is moved away from said one or more landmarks and areas.
23. The map information changing method according to claim 22, wherein
in said positional information changing step, the road is translated away from said one or more landmarks and areas.
24. The map information changing method according to claim 22, wherein
in said positional information changing step, one endpoint of the segment composing the road is moved away from said one or more landmarks and areas.

A device for emanating an active agent to the atmosphere comprising a first container holding a first liquid, a second container holding a second liquid, a collector, and an active agent, wherein an outlet from each container deposits the first liquid and the second liquid onto the collector whereby the liquids mix and react to generate heat and thereby volatilise the active agent.
2. A device according to claim 1 wherein the first liquid andor the second liquid comprises the active agent.
3. A device according to claim 1 wherein the collector is in thermal contact with the active agent.
4. A device according to claim 1, wherein the collector is a porous plate.
5. A device according to claim 1, wherein the first liquid comprises a reducing agent and the second liquid comprises an oxidising agent.
6. A device according to claim 5 wherein the first liquid comprises an alkali metal thiosulfate or bisulfate.
7. A device according to claim 5 wherein the second liquid comprises aqueous hydrogen peroxide.
8. A device according to claim 1, wherein the first liquid andor second liquid comprises a catalyst for the reaction between said liquids.
9. A device according to claim 1, wherein the collector comprises a catalyst for the reaction between said liquids.
10. A device according to claim 1, which device comprises an actuation means for delivering a predetermined volume of each of the first liquid and second liquid to the collector.
11. A device according to claim 1, wherein the active agent is a deodorising, sanitising, air freshening, aromatherapy, therapeutic, pesticidal or insect repellent composition.

1. An engine system comprising:
an engine;
hydrogen medium capable of repeating chemically storing and discharging hydrogen;
an exhaust gas pipe from said engine; and
a reactor unit bearing a catalyst;
wherein the hydrogen generated using the heat of the exhaust gas in said reactor unit or the mixture of the hydrogen and said hydrogen medium being supplied to said engine;
wherein said reactor unit includes at least first and second reactors in said exhaust gas pipe and each of said reactors comprises a partition wall disposed between an exhaust gas passage and a hydrogen medium passage; and
wherein the thermal resistance of said partition wall of said first reactor positioned on the upstream side is larger than that of said second reactor positioned on the downstream side and said hydrogen medium is supplied to said second reactor from said first reactor.
2. An engine system comprising:
an engine;
hydrogen medium capable of repeating chemically storing and discharging hydrogen;
an exhaust gas pipe from said engine; and
a reactor bearing a catalyst;
wherein the hydrogen generated using the heat of exhaust gas in said reactor unit or the mixture of the hydrogen and said hydrogen medium being supplied to said engine;
wherein said reactor arranged in said exhaust gas pipe includes a partition wall disposed between an exhaust gas passage and a hydrogen medium passage in said reactor, and the thermal resistance of said partition wall on the inlet side of said exhaust gas is larger than that of the outlet side of said exhaust gas pipe.
3. An engine system comprising:
an engine;
hydrogen medium capable of repeating chemically storing and discharging hydrogen;
an exhaust gas pipe from said engine; and
a reactor bearing a catalyst;
wherein the hydrogen generated using the heat of exhaust gas in said reactor unit or the mixture of the hydrogen and said hydrogen medium being supplied to said engine;
wherein said reactor is provided in said exhaust gas pipe, and a partition wall disposed between an exhaust gas passage and a hydrogen medium passage in said reactor, and the thickness of said partition wall on the inlet side of said exhaust gas pipe is larger than that of outlet side of said exhaust gas pipe.
4. The engine system according to claim 2, wherein said partition wall of said reactor is structured with materials at least two kinds of materials, and thermal conductivity of the material of said partition wall on the out side is higher than that of the inlet side of said exhaust gas.
5. The engine system according to claim 1, further comprising a carburetor disposed on the downstream side of said second reactor and performing heat exchange between the hydrogen medium and exhaust gas,
wherein the hydrogen medium is supplied in order of said carburetor, said first reactor, and said second reactor, and the heat exchange at least in one reactor is parallel current.
6. The engine system according to claim 1, further comprising a by-pass exhaust gas pipe branched from said exhaust gas pipe on the upstream side of said reactor and a flow rate limiting valve disposed downstream than the middle point of said by-pass exhaust gas pipe.
7. The engine system according to claim 2, further comprising a by-pass exhaust gas pipe branched from said exhaust gas pipe on the upstream side of said reactor and a flow rate limiting valve disposed downstream than the middle point of said by-pass exhaust gas pipe.

What is claimed is:

1. A single-pass ink jet printing head comprising
an array of ink jet outlets sufficient to cover a target width of a print substrate at a predetermined resolution, and
orifice plates, each of the orifice plates having orifices, each of the orifice plates serving some but not all of the area to be printed,
the orifices being arranged in a pattern such that adjacent parallel lines on the print medium are served by orifices that have different positions in the array along the direction of the print lines, that are separated by a distance that is at least an order of magnitude greater than the distance between adjacent orifices in a direction perpendicular to the print line direction.
2. The head of claim 1 in which each of the orifice plates is associated with a print head module that prints a swath along the substrate, the swath being narrower than the target width of the substrate.
3. The head of claim 1 in which the number of orifices in each of the orifice plates is within a range of 250 to 4000, preferably between 1000 and 2000, most preferably about 1500.
4. The head of claim 1 in which there are no more than five swath arrays to cover the entire target width.
5. The head of claim 1 in which there are three swath arrays.
