1. An image sensor, comprising:
a plurality of micro-lenses disposed on a semiconductor substrate, a first micro-lens in the plurality of micro-lenses having a first focal length; and
a second micro-lens in the plurality of micro-lenses having a second focal length, wherein the first focal length is different from the second focal length.
2. The image sensor of claim 1, further comprising:
a first filter disposed on the semiconductor substrate, the first filter associated with a first wavelength; and
a second filter disposed on the semiconductor substrate, second filter associated with a second wavelength, wherein the second wavelength is different from the first wavelength.
3. The image sensor of claim 1, further comprising a plurality of metal conductors disposed on the semiconductor substrate.
4. The image sensor of claim 3, wherein the first and second micro-lenses are disposed on a first side of the semiconductor substrate and the plurality of metal conductors is disposed on a second side of the semiconductor substrate.
5. The image sensor of claim 3, wherein the first and second micro-lenses are disposed on a same side of the semiconductor substrate as the plurality of metal conductors.
6. An image sensor, comprising:
a plurality of micro-lenses disposed on a semiconductor substrate, a first micro-lens in the plurality of micro-lenses having a height; and
a second micro-lens in the plurality of micro-lenses having a second height, wherein the first focal length is different from the second focal length.
7. The image sensor of claim 6, further comprising:
a first filter disposed on the semiconductor substrate, the first filter associated with a first wavelength; and
a second filter disposed on the semiconductor substrate, second filter associated with a second wavelength, wherein the second wavelength is different from the first wavelength.
8. The image sensor of claim 6, further comprising a plurality of metal conductors disposed on the semiconductor substrate.
9. The image sensor of claim 8, wherein the first and second micro-lenses are disposed on a first side of the semiconductor substrate and the plurality of metal conductors is disposed on a second side of the semiconductor substrate.
10. The image sensor of claim 8, wherein the first and second micro-lenses are disposed on a same side of the semiconductor substrate as the plurality of metal conductors.
11. An image sensor, comprising:
a plurality of micro-lenses disposed on a semiconductor substrate, a first micro-lens in the plurality of micro-lenses having a first curvature; and
a second micro-lens in the plurality of micro-lenses having a second curvature, wherein the first curvature is different from the second curvature.
12. The image sensor of claim 11, further comprising:
a first filter disposed on the semiconductor substrate, the first filter associated with a first wavelength; and
a second filter disposed on the semiconductor substrate, second filter associated with a second wavelength, wherein the second wavelength is different from the first wavelength.
13. The image sensor of claim 12, further comprising a plurality of metal conductors disposed on the semiconductor substrate.
14. The image sensor of claim 13, wherein the first and second micro-lenses are disposed on a first side of the semiconductor substrate and the plurality of metal conductors is disposed on a second side of the semiconductor substrate.
15. The image sensor of claim 13, wherein the first and second micro-lenses are disposed on a same side of the semiconductor substrate as the plurality of metal conductors.
16. A method of operating an image sensor, comprising:
detecting light at a first photosensitive element, the light having a first wavelength, the light being incident on a first micro-lens, the first micro-lens having a first focal length associated with the first wavelength, the first micro-lens to focus the detected light having the first wavelength onto a surface of the first photosensitive element; and
detecting light at a second photosensitive element, the light having a second wavelength, the light being incident on a second micro-lens, the second micro-lens having a second focal length associated with the second wavelength, the first focal length being different from the second focal length, the second micro-lens to focus the detected light having the second wavelength onto the surface of the second photosensitive element.
17. The method of claim 16, further comprising:
detecting light at the first and second photosensitive elements disposed on a first side of a semiconductor substrate; and
carrying an electrical signal from the photosensitive elements using a plurality of metal conductors is disposed on a second side of the semiconductor substrate.
18. The method of claim 16, further comprising:
detecting light at the first and second photosensitive elements disposed on a first side of a semiconductor substrate; and
carrying an electrical signal from the photosensitive elements using a plurality of metal conductors is disposed on the first side of the semiconductor substrate.
19. The method of claim 16, wherein the first micro-lens includes a first curvature associated with the first wavelength.
20. The method of claim 16, wherein the second micro-lens includes a second curvature associated with the second wavelength.
21. The method of claim 16, further comprising detecting light at a third photosensitive element, the light having a third wavelength, the light being incident on a third micro-lens, the third micro-lens having a third focal length associated with the third wavelength, the first focal length and the second focal length being different from the third focal length.

1. A method of assembling selected cap assemblies, the method comprising the acts of:
providing identical outer covers;
providing identical inner portions having threads and having pawl teeth;
providing a first pawl member positionable between any one of the outer covers and any one of the inner portions, the first pawl member being operable to transmit a cap-installing torque from the one outer cover to the pawl teeth of the one inner portion up to a first predetermined torque;
providing a second pawl member positionable between any one of the outer covers and any one of the inner portions, the second pawl member being operable to transmit a cap-installing torque from the one outer cover to the pawl teeth of the one inner portion up to a second predetermined torque different from the first predetermined torque;
selecting the first pawl member for assembly between a first one of the identical outer covers and a first one of the identical inner portions of a first cap assembly, the first pawl member providing an installation torque limit for the first cap assembly equal to the first predetermined torque;
selecting the second pawl member for assembly between a second one of the identical outer covers and a second one of the identical inner portions of a second cap assembly, the second pawl member providing an installation torque limit for the second cap assembly equal to the second predetermined torque.
coupling the first outer cover to the first inner portion with the first pawl member therebetween; and
coupling the second outer cover to the second inner portion with the second pawl member therebetween.
2. The method of claim 1, wherein providing a first pawl member includes providing a first pawl member of a first material, and wherein providing a second pawl member includes providing a second pawl member of a second material, the second material providing a different resiliency than the first material.
3. The method of claim 1, further comprising the acts of:
providing a first pawl arm on the first pawl member, the first pawl arm having a first thickness; and
providing a second pawl arm on the second pawl member, the second pawl arm having a second thickness less than the first thickness.
4. The method of claim 1, wherein coupling the first outer cover with the first inner portion includes directly engaging the first outer cover with the first inner portion in a snap engagement.
5. The method of claim 1, wherein coupling the first outer cover with the first inner portion includes engaging the first outer cover with an assembly ring in a snap engagement, the first inner portion being retained by the assembly ring and coupled to the first outer cover.
6. The method of claim 1, further comprising the act of assembling each one of the first cap assembly and the second cap assembly with additional components, all of the additional components being identical between the first cap assembly and the second cap assembly.
7. The method of claim 6, wherein the additional components include identical gaskets, identical retainer portions, identical tether assemblies, and identical vent modules.
8. The method of claim 1, further comprising the act of fitting together inter-engaging recesses and protrusions of the respective outer covers and pawl members of the first and second cap assemblies.
9. A method of assembling selected cap assemblies, the method comprising the acts of:
providing identical outer covers;
providing identical inner portions having threads and having pawl teeth;
providing a first pawl member of a first material, the first pawl member being positionable between any one of the outer covers and any one of the inner portions, the first pawl member being operable to transmit a cap-installing torque from the one outer cover to the pawl teeth of the one inner portion up to a first predetermined torque;
providing a second pawl member of a second material different than the first material, the second pawl member being positionable between any one of the outer covers and any one of the inner portions, the second pawl member being operable to transmit a cap-installing torque from the one outer cover to the pawl teeth of the one inner portion up to a second predetermined torque different from the first predetermined torque;
selecting the first pawl member for assembly between a first one of the identical outer covers and a first one of the identical inner portions of a first cap assembly, the first pawl member providing an installation torque limit for the first cap assembly equal to the first predetermined torque;
selecting the second pawl member for assembly between a second one of the identical outer covers and a second one of the identical inner portions of a second cap assembly, the second pawl member providing an installation torque limit for the second cap assembly equal to the second predetermined torque.
coupling the first outer cover to the first inner portion with the first pawl member therebetween; and
coupling the second outer cover to the second inner portion with the second pawl member therebetween.

selecting the first pawl member for assembly between a first one of the identical outer covers and a first one of the identical inner portions of a first cap assembly, the first pawl member providing an installation torque limit for the first cap assembly equal to the first predetermined torque;
selecting the second pawl member for assembly between a second one of the identical outer covers and a second one of the identical inner portions of a second cap assembly, the second pawl member providing an installation torque limit for the second cap assembly equal to the second predetermined torque.

1. A method of installing a conveyor belt cover over an existing base conveyor belt on a conveyor arrangement of the type having a plurality of conveyor rollers, the base conveyor belt being arranged to be urged endlessly around the plurality of conveyor rollers, the method comprising:
placing a two-ply conveyor belt cover formed of a fabric carcass having inner and outer plies on said existing base conveyor belt, the conveyor belt cover having first and second ends on the existing based conveyor belt;
forming a temporary attachment of the first end of the conveyor belt cover to a top surface of said base conveyor belt;
urging said base conveyor belt and attached conveyor belt cover around the plurality of conveyor rollers in a forward direction of travel until the first end of the conveyor belt cover approaches the second end of the conveyor belt cover;
attaching the first and second ends of the conveyor belt cover to form an endless loop; and
removing the temporary attachment to said base conveyor belt so that the conveyor belt cover is in frictional communication with said base conveyor belt.
2. The method of claim 1 wherein, the step of attaching the first and second ends of the conveyor belt cover to form an endless loop comprises:
removing a portion of the inner ply in the region of the first end of the two-ply cover;
removing a portion of the outer ply in the region of the second end of the two-ply cover;
applying an adhesive to at least one of the exposed portions of the inner and outer plies; and
overlying the outer ply over the inner ply over the applied adhesive.
3. The method of claim 2, wherein said step of removing a portion of the inner ply in the region of the first end of the two-ply cover extends for approximately one inch in the direction of travel and across the entire width in the direction perpendicular to the direction of travel.
4. The method of claim 3, comprising the further step of attaching a material substrate to the underside of the first and second edges to provide support.
5. The method of claim 1 wherein, the step of attaching the first and second ends of the conveyor belt cover to form an endless loop comprises:
urging said base conveyor belt and attached conveyor belt cover until the first end of the conveyor belt cover abuts the second end of the conveyor belt conveyor belt cover to form a seam;
applying a single-sided adhesive tape to the underside of the conveyor belt cover at the seam to permanently adhere the two edges of the conveyor belt cover together; and
applying a single-sided adhesive tape to the upper surface of conveyor belt further adhere the two edges of the conveyor belt cover together and to cover the seam.
6. The method of claim 1 wherein, the step of attaching the first and second ends of the conveyor belt cover to form an endless loop comprises:
adhering the underside of the second end to the upper side of the first end to form a seam at the overlap with dual-sided adhesive tape; and
covering the seam with a single-sided adhesive tape.
7. The method of claim 1 wherein said step of attaching the first and second ends of the conveyor belt cover to form an endless loop includes applying a tensile force to the conveyor belt cover material of approximately between 1 poundinch and 1.5 poundsinch.
8. The method of claim 7 wherein the step of applying a tensile force comprises stretching the conveyor belt cover material to an elongation of approximately 0.1%.
9. A conveyor arrangement of the type having a plurality of conveyor rollers and a base conveyor belt arranged to be urged endlessly around the plurality of conveyor rollers, the conveyor arrangement comprising:
a conveyor belt cover formed of inner and outer plies, the conveyor belt cover being arranged to overlie the base conveyor belt and to be urged endlessly around said plurality of conveyor rollers,
the inner ply having first and second inner ply termination edges and being arranged to directly overlie, and to be in frictional communication with, and multidirectionally displaceable over, the base conveyor belt, the first and second inner ply termination edges being arranged in proximity to one another to form a closed loop that overlies the base conveyor belt; and
the outer ply being arranged to overlie the inner ply and having first and second outer ply termination edges, the first outer ply termination edge extending beyond the first inner ply termination edge, and the second outer ply termination edge being disposed to leave a portion of the second inner ply termination edge exposed.
10. The conveyor arrangement of claim 9, wherein said inner ply is formed of a single ply polyester fabric material carcass.
11. The conveyor arrangement of claim 9, wherein said outer ply is formed of has a PVC coating.
12. The conveyor arrangement of claim 9, wherein said conveyor belt cover has a structural rigidity characteristic greater than 140 pcm2 as determined in accordance with DIN 53362 in the weft direction.
13. The conveyor arrangement of claim 9, wherein the inner ply of said conveyor belt cover has an inner surface for forming the frictional communication with said base conveyor belt, and an outer surface for communicating with an inner surface of the outer ply.
14. The conveyor arrangement of claim 9, wherein said conveyor belt cover is installed to a tensile force of approximately between 3 and 4.5 poundsinch.
15. The conveyor arrangement of claim 14, wherein the tensile force applied to said conveyor belt cover corresponds to an elongation of approximately 0.2%.
16. The conveyor arrangement of claim 13, wherein the frictional communication between the inner surface of the inner ply said conveyor belt cover and said base conveyor belt corresponds to a coefficient of friction of approximately between 0.12 and 0.16.
17. The conveyor arrangement of claim 9, wherein there is further provided a message printed on the outer surface of the outer ply of said conveyor belt cover.
18. The conveyor arrangement of claim 13, wherein there is further provided an antimicrobial material disposed on the outer surface of the outer ply of said conveyor belt cover.
19. The conveyor arrangement of claim 18, wherein said antimicrobial material comprises a selectable combination of silver and silver oxide nanoparticles embedded in a polymeric film.
20. The conveyor arrangement of claim 19, wherein said antimicrobial material further comprises zinc oxide particles embedded in said polymeric film.
21. The conveyor arrangement of claim 19, wherein said polymeric film includes a polymer selected from the group consisting of a polyurethane, a vinyl, an acrylic, a polyester, a melamine, a polyolefin, a polycarbonate, and an epoxy.
22. The conveyor arrangement of claim 21, wherein said polymeric film has a thickness of approximately \u02dc0.5 mil.
23. The conveyor arrangement of claim 9, wherein there is further provided an adhesive applied to the second inner ply termination edge, and to the first outer ply termination edge.
24. The conveyor arrangement of claim 23, wherein said adhesive is activated after the second inner ply termination edge is brought into communication with the first outer ply termination edge.
25. The conveyor arrangement of claim 9, wherein there is further provided a substrate portion arranged to underlie the first and second inner ply termination edges.
26. The conveyor arrangement of claim 9, wherein the outer ply overlies the inner ply approximately one inch.

1. An electrowetting display, comprising:
a plurality of layers defining a cavity;
a combination of a first fluid and a second fluid positioned in the cavity;
first circuitry configured to be coupled to a first voltage source for selectively repositioning the second fluid in relation to the first fluid;
a first plurality of particles positioned within the second fluid; and
second circuitry configured to be coupled to a second voltage source for selectively causing the particles to emit photons.
2. The electrowetting display of claim 1 wherein the particles comprise a first plurality of electroluminescent particles.
3. The electrowetting display of claim 2 wherein the plurality of layers comprise:
a first conductive layer;
a first transparent hydrophobic material formed over the first conductive layer;
a first transparent material formed over the first transparent hydrophobic material to define the first cavity; and
a first transparent conductor formed on the first transparent material;
wherein the first voltage source is selectively coupled between the first conductive layer and the first transparent conductor, and the second voltage source is selectively coupled between the first conductive layer and the first transparent conductor.
4. The electrowetting display of claim 3 further comprising a reflective layer disposed contiguous to the first conductive layer.
5. The electrowetting display of claim 3 wherein the first conductive layer comprises a reflective layer.
6. The electrowetting display of claim 2 wherein the first fluid has a disaffinity for the first transparent hydrophobic material and the second fluid comprises a first oil.
7. The electrowetting display of claim 2 further comprising electronics coupled to select the first and second circuitry.
8. The electrowetting display of claim 7 wherein the electronics comprises a cellular telephone.
9. The electrowetting display of claim 1 wherein the first voltage comprises one of a DC voltage source and a voltage source having a frequency less than 200 hertz.
10. The electrowetting display of claim 1 wherein the second voltage comprises an AC voltage source.
11. A method comprising:
selectively applying a first voltage between first and second electrodes of an electrowetting display to reposition a first material in combination with a second material, the combination positioned between the first and second electrodes so as to alter the amount of light passing therethrough; and
selectively applying a second voltage between the first and second electrodes to cause a first plurality of particles in solution with the first material to emit photons.
12. The method of claim 11 wherein the first material imparts a color to the light and applying the first voltage at least partially removes the colored light from the display.
13. The method of claim 11 wherein the photons are absorbed within the first material and other photons having a different frequency are emitted therefrom.
14. The method of claim 11 wherein the first material is oil and the second material is water.
15. The method of claim 11 wherein the particles comprise a first plurality of electroluminescent particles, the method further comprising:
selectively applying the first voltage between third and fourth electrodes of an electrowetting display to reposition a third material in combination with the second material positioned between the third and fourth electrodes so as to alter the amount of light passing therethrough;
selectively applying the AC voltage between the third and fourth electrodes to cause a second plurality of electroluminescent particles in solution with the third material to emit photons;
selectively applying the first voltage between fifth and sixth electrodes of an electrowetting display to reposition a fourth material in mixture with the second material positioned between the fifth and sixth electrodes so as to alter the amount of light passing therethrough; and
selectively applying the second voltage between the fifth and sixth electrodes to cause electroluminescent particles in solution with the fourth material to emit photons.
16. The method of claim 15 wherein the first, third, and fourth material is oil and the second material is water.
