1. An article of footwear, comprising:
an upper; and
a cleat assembly coupled to the upper, the cleat assembly including:
a base having medial and lateral sides,
a plurality of downwardly extending ground engaging members,
a medial support bar located on the medial side,
a lateral support bar located on the lateral side,
a lateral stiffened section located in a region of the cleat assembly generally corresponding to a midfoot portion of the lateral support bar, and
a medial stiffened section located in a region of the cleat assembly generally corresponding to a midfoot portion of the medial support bar, the medial stiffened section being stiffer than the lateral stiffened section.
2. The article of footwear of claim 1, wherein the medial and lateral support bars are formed separately from the base and attached to the base.
3. The article of footwear of claim 1, further comprising a connecting matrix, wherein:
the connecting matrix overlays at least a portion of the base, and
the lateral and medial support bars are disposed between the connecting matrix and the base.
4. The article of footwear of claim 3, wherein the portion of the connecting matrix in the medial stiffened section is thicker than the portion of the connecting matrix in the lateral stiffened section.
5. The article of footwear of claim 1, wherein the midfoot section of the medial support bar is thicker than the midfoot section of the lateral support bar.
6. The article of footwear of claim 1, wherein the medial and lateral support bars are outwardly visible.
7. The article of footwear of claim 6, further comprising a clear or translucent connecting matrix overlaying the medial and lateral support bars.
8. The article of footwear of claim 6, further comprising a connecting matrix overlaying the medial and lateral support bars so as to reveal the shapes of the medial and lateral support bars.
9. The article of footwear of claim 1, wherein:
the medial support bar extends approximately from a region corresponding to the rear of the calcaneous of a properly fitted wearer of the article to approximately the head of the first metatarsal of the wearer, and
the lateral support bar extends approximately from a region corresponding to the rear of the calcaneous of the wearer to approximately the head of the fifth metatarsal of the wearer.
10. The article of footwear of claim 9, wherein at least the midfoot sections of the medial and lateral support bars are stiffer than the base.
11. The article of footwear of claim 9, wherein the medial support bar midfoot section comprises a supplemental stiffening element.
12. The article of footwear of claim 11, wherein the supplemental stiffening element comprises a nickel-titanium alloy strip.
13. The article of footwear of claim 9, wherein the cleat assembly is open in at least a portion of the midfoot region.
14. The article of footwear of claim 9, wherein the base includes a cross-sole flexure region extending from the lateral side to the medial side in a forward forefoot region.
15. The article of footwear of claim 14, wherein the lateral support bar terminates on a heel side of the flexure region and the medial support bar comprises a flexible extension within the flexure region and a phalangeal support coupled to the flexible extension.
16. The article of footwear of claim 9, wherein a majority of the ground engaging members are integral to the base and protrude through the support bars.
17. The article of footwear of claim 9, wherein the lateral support bar and the medial support bar are stiffer than any portion of the base coupling the lateral and medial support bars.
18. The article of footwear of claim 9, wherein the lateral and medial support bars are free of integral connecting members.
19. The article of footwear of claim 9, wherein the lateral and medial support bars comprise thermoplastic polyurethane.
20. The article of footwear of claim 9, wherein the lateral and medial support bars comprise a glass fiber reinforced plastic.
21. The article of footwear of claim 9, further comprising a cushioning midsole bonded to the base, and wherein the upper lacks a full-length lasting board and is directly bonded to the cushioning midsole.
22. The article of footwear of claim 21, wherein the cushioning midsole comprises a closed-cell compressed foam element.
23. The article of footwear of claim 22, further comprising an air cushion, wherein:
the cushioning midsole comprises toe and heel regions,
the air cushion is generally located in the heel region between the midsole and the upper,
the foam element is approximately 2\u20133 mm thick in the toe region, and
the combined thickness of the foam element and air cushion is approximately 8\u201310 mm.
24. The article of footwear of claim 22, wherein the cushioning midsole comprises heated and compressed ethylene vinyl acetate foam.
25. The article of footwear of claim 22, wherein the upper comprises a peripherally-stitched Strobel sock.
26. The article of footwear of claim 22, wherein the upper further includes:
a padded collar element,
a lining covering the collar and extending inside a portion of a foot-receiving region of the article, the portion of the foot-receiving region being substantially free of discontinuities around the heel of a wearer.
27. The article of footwear of claim 22, wherein the midfoot section of the medial support bar is thicker than the midfoot section of the lateral support bar.
28. The article of footwear of claim 22, wherein the medial support bar midfoot section comprises a supplemental stiffening element.
29. The article of footwear of claim 22, wherein the lateral support bar terminates on the heel side of a cross-sole flexure region, the cross-sole flexure region extending from the lateral side to the medial side in a forward forefoot region, and the medial support bar comprises a flexible extension within the cross-sole flexure region and a phalangeal support coupled to the flexible extension.
30. The article of footwear of claim 29, wherein a majority of the ground engaging members are integral to the base and protrude through the support bars.

1. A protocol system that facilitates interpreting data from a remote application, comprising:
a receiving component that receives a portion of a first data envelope comprising a request for data access from an application; and
an analysis component that receives the portion of the first data envelope from the receiving component, determines at least one value relating to the request for data access, and leverages the application to determine a trust-level of the first data envelope based at least in part on the value relating to the request for data access.
2. The system of claim 1, the receiving component incrementally reads the first data envelope and rejects the first data envelope during the incremental read where the trust-level exceeds a threshold.
3. The system of claim 1, the receiving component returns an error data envelope comprising at least one error code where the first data envelope is entirely received and the trust-level exceeds a threshold.
4. The system of claim 1, the application is a health integration network comprising a plurality of data stores that respectively store health related data.
5. The system of claim 4, the trust-level is determined by utilizing the health integration network to evaluate an authorization corresponding to the value relating to the request for data access.
6. The system of claim 5, the value relating to the request for data access is an identifier of a record within the health integration network for which access is requested.
7. The system of claim 6, a user identifier is additionally read from the first data envelope and used in conjunction with the identifier of a record in evaluating the authorization to determine the trust-level.
8. The system of claim 1, further comprising a packaging component that receives response data based at least in part on the first data envelope and packages the response data in a second data envelope.
9. The system of claim 8, further comprising an encryption component that encrypts at least a portion of the second data envelope based on an encryption key specified in the first data envelope.
10. The system of claim 1, the first data envelope is received as an extensible markup language (XML) document over hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP).
11. A method that facilitates utilizing a protocol to send a data request to a remote application, comprising:
receiving a data request to be sent to a remote application;
packaging the data request within an outgoing data envelope as an extensible markup language (XML) document, the outgoing data envelope comprises at least one header;
specifying at least one supported compression method in the header; and
sending the outgoing data envelope to the remote application.
12. The method of claim 11, further comprising receiving a response data envelope from the remote application, the response data envelope is based at least in part on the outgoing data envelope.
13. The method of claim 12, further comprising decompressing at least a portion of the response data envelope based on the supported compression method.
14. The method of claim 11, further comprising specifying at least one public encryption key in the header.
15. The method of claim 14, further comprising receiving a response data envelope from the remote application and decrypting at least a portion of the response data envelope using a private decryption key that corresponds to the public encryption key.
16. The method of claim 11, the remote application is a health integration network comprising a plurality of databases that respectively store health related data.
17. The method of claim 16, the data request is for health related data stored as an XML document in the health integration network.
18. The method of claim 11, the outgoing envelope is sent to the remote application over a hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) connection.
19. A system for utilizing a protocol to communicate with a remote application, comprising:
means for receiving an extensible markup language (XML) document representing a data envelope, the data envelope comprises a header and a request for data;
means for storing at least one compression method specified in the header; and
means for extracting the request for data from the data envelope and forwarding the request to an underlying application.
20. The system of claim 19, further comprising:
means for packaging a result in a return data envelope, the result based at least in part on the request for data;
means for compressing the result based on the compression method; and
means for sending the return data envelope to a requesting entity.
