1. A method for preventing the unauthorized removal of a portable electronic device, comprising:
inserting a member that is part of an attachment mechanism into a generally rectangular security slot, having dimensions of about 3 mm\xd77 mm, defined in a wall of the portable electronic device;
securing the attachment mechanism to the portable electronic device via the rectangular security slot, having dimensions of about 3 mm\xd77 mm, wherein the attachment mechanism is coupled to a remote unit; and
using a base unit that is separated from the remote unit, and the remote unit, to indicate the unauthorized removal of the portable electronic device,
wherein the region between the portable electronic device and the base unit is free of a cable.
2. The method of claim 1 wherein securing the attachment mechanism comprises rotating the member to a locked position.
3. The method of claim 1 wherein the member is capable of being in a locked configuration, wherein the locked configuration is maintained by use of a pin proximate the member, and wherein the pin extends into the security slot after the member has moved to a locked position.
4. The method of claim 1 wherein the base unit and the remote unit form a proximity detection system, and wherein the unauthorized removal is indicated if the remote unit fails to receive a periodic transmission from the base unit.
5. A proximity detection system for inhibiting theft of a portable electronic device having an external wall with a thickness, wherein the wall has a security slot having dimensions of about 3 mm\xd77 mm, the system comprising:
an attachment mechanism comprising a member, wherein the member is capable of insertion into the security slot having dimensions of about 3 mm\xd77 mm in the wall of the portable electronic device;
a remote unit coupled to the attachment mechanism; and
a base unit,
wherein the base unit and the remote unit are separated from each other and operate together to indicate the unauthorized removal of the portable electronic device,
wherein the region between the portable electronic device and the base unit is free of a cable.
6. The system of claim 5 wherein a unique ID code is transmitted between the base unit and the remote unit.
7. The system of claim 5 wherein the member comprises a shaft and a crossmember at an end of the shaft.
8. The system of claim 5 wherein member is capable of rotating between a locked position and an unlocked position.
9. The system of claim 5 wherein the base unit is capable of periodically transmitting a signal to the remote unit.
10. The system of claim 5 further wherein the attachment mechanism comprises a key-actuated lock mechanism.
11. The system of claim 5 wherein the remote unit comprises a siren.
12. The system of claim 5 wherein the remote unit comprises a transmitter.
13. The system of claim 5 wherein the remote unit comprises a receiver.
14. The system of claim 5 wherein the remote unit is capable of activating a siren if the unauthorized removal of the portable electronic device has taken place.
15. The system of claim 5 wherein the base unit is capable of activating a siren if the unauthorized removal of the portable electronic device has taken place.

1. A pair of windshield eyeglasses comprising lenses and a frame for holding the lenses,
wherein each of the lenses or the frame includes an edge formed with a windshield for sealing a gap between the edge and a face of a user, the windshield extending from the edge and ranging from laterally inward side of the face to an upper intermediate portion and to a lower intermediate portion of the edge.
2. The windshield eyeglasses according to claim 1, wherein the windshield includes a right and a left windshield portions for surrounding the right and left eyes respectively, ranging from the laterally inward side of medial angles of eyes to above and below the lateral angles of the eyes.
3. The windshield eyeglasses according to claim 2, wherein the right and the left windshield portions are formed integrally and continuously with each other.
4. The windshield eyeglasses according to claim 1, wherein the lenses respectively serving the right and the left eyes are provided in a form of a single piece, the windshield being formed integrally along the piece or the frame which holds the piece.
5. The windshield eyeglasses according to claim 1 through claim 4, wherein the windshield is formed integrally with nose pads.
6. The windshield eyeglasses according to claim 1, wherein the frame is formed of colored resin whereas the windshield is formed of transparent resin, the frame and the windshield being formed integrally with each other, the frame and the windshield sharing a border area along which a bordering groove is formed.
7. The windshield eyeglasses according to claim 1 or claim 2, wherein the frame is formed of hard resin or metal whereas the windshield is formed of elastic resin.
8. The windshield eyeglasses according to claim 1 or claim 2, wherein the eyeglasses further include a middle frame between an outer perimeter of each lens and the frame which holds the lenses, the windshield being provided on the middle frame.
9. A pair of windshield eyeglasses comprising lenses and a frame for holding the lenses,
wherein each of the lenses or the frame includes an edge formed with a windshield for sealing a gap between the edge and the face of a user, the windshield ranging from the laterally inward side of the face to an upper intermediate portion and to a lower intermediate portion of the frame, the windshield being provided on the lenses andor the frame and detachable therefrom.
10. The windshield eyeglasses according to claim 9, wherein the windshield includes a right and a left windshield portions for surrounding the right and left eyes respectively, ranging from the laterally inward side of medial angles of the eyes to above and below the lateral angles of eyes.
11. The windshield eyeglasses according to claim 9 or claim 10, wherein the windshield is formed integrally with nose pads.
12. The windshield eyeglasses according to claim 9 or claim 10, wherein the windshield is detachably connected to the lenses andor the frame by magnetic or elastic connecting means.
13. The windshield eyeglasses according to claim 9, wherein the lenses andor the frame are formed integrally with an extension for enclosing an outer perimeter of the windshield.
14. The windshield eyeglasses according to claim 13, wherein the eyeglasses further include a middle frame between an outer perimeter of each lens and the frame which holds the lenses, the extension being provided on the middle frame.
15. The windshield eyeglasses according to claim 9 or claim 10, wherein the eyeglasses further include a middle frame between an outer perimeter of each lens and the frame which holds the lenses, the windshield being detachably connected to the middle frame.
16. A windshield for a pair of eyeglasses, comprising:
a right and left windshield portions to be placed along an edge of the eyeglass lenses or frame which holds the lenses, ranging from the laterally inward side of medial angles of the eyes to above and below the lateral angles of the eyes; and
connecting means for connecting the windshield detachable to the lenses andor the frame.
17. The windshield according to claim 16, wherein the right and the left windshield portions are independent from each other, the windshield portions being connected each other by a connecting portion and to be placed at a laterally central region of a user’s face, the connecting portion being attachable to one or more places of the lenses, the frame or nose pads.
18. A pair of windshield eyeglasses comprising lenses and a frame for holding the lenses, wherein each of the lenses or the frame includes an edge formed with a windshield for sealing a gap between the edge and the face of a user, the windshield extending from the edge and ranging from the laterally inward side of the face to an upper intermediate portion and to a lower intermediate portion of the frame, and wherein the windshield is provided with a portion for second lenses.
19. The windshield for a pair of eyeglasses according to claim 18, wherein the windshield is integrally formed with nose pads.
20. A wind shielding method for a pair of eyeglasses, comprising a provision of a windshield ranging from the laterally inward side of the face to an upper intermediate portion and to a lower intermediate portion on edges of eyeglass lenses or frame, for sealing a gap between the edge and the face of a user, thereby preventing airflow from the laterally central region of the face toward the laterally outward sides of the face from entering a space between the eyeglass inner surface and the user’s face.
