What is claimed is:
1. A method of cooking food with a rotisserie oven, the oven including and a spit assembly that slides into the oven guided by two tracks, the tracks being able to locate the spit assembly in two different positions, comprising the steps of:
inserting the spit assembly into the rotisserie oven and locating the spit assembly at the first position in the tracks;
preparing the food while the spit assembly is in the first position; and
when finished preparing the food, guiding the spit assembly further into the oven to the second position.
2. A method of cooking food with a rotisserie oven and a spit assembly that slides into the oven guided by two tracks, the tracks being able to locate the spit assembly in three different positions, the spit assembly not rotating in the first position and rotating in the second and third positions, and the spit assembly being closest to a heating source in the third position, comprising the steps of:
inserting the spit assembly into the rotisserie oven and locating the spit assembly at the first of the three positions in the tracks;
preparing the food while the spit assembly is in the first position; and
when finished preparing the food, guiding the spit assembly further into the oven to the second position or to the third position.
