1. A slider comprising:
a slider body having an outer side edge, an inner side edge, a trailing edge and a leading edge;
an outer rail positioned adjacent to the outer side edge of the slider body;
an inner rail positioned adjacent to the inner side edge of the slider body;
a center rail positioned between and spaced apart from the outer rail and the inner rail;
first and second nozzle features each having a divergent portion and a convergent portion, the first nozzle feature being positioned between and separated from the outer rail and the center rail and the second nozzle feature being positioned between and separated from the inner rail and the center rail, wherein each nozzle feature is located a spaced distance from the trailing edge and the convergent portions are located in closer proximity to the trailing edge than the divergent portions.
2. The slider of claim 1, wherein the first nozzle feature comprises a plurality of separate first nozzle features and the second nozzle feature comprises a plurality of separate second nozzle features.
3. The slider of claim 2, wherein a portion of the plurality of first nozzle features and a portion of the plurality of second nozzle features are located a first spaced distance from the trailing edge and a remaining portion of the plurality of first nozzle features and a remaining portion of the plurality of second nozzle features are located a second spaced distance from the trailing edge, wherein the second spaced distance is greater than the first spaced distance.
4. The slider of claim 1, wherein a length of the divergent portion of each of first and second nozzle features is greater than a length of the convergent portion of each of first and second nozzle features.
5. The slider of claim 1, wherein the first and second nozzle features comprise a four sided rhombus shape that includes a leading edge where two of the sides intersect and a trailing edge where the other two of the sides intersect, wherein the trailing edges of the first and second nozzle features are located the spaced distance from the trailing edge of the slider.
6. The slider of claim 1, wherein the first and second nozzle features protrude from a cavity surface by a height that is substantially equal to a height of a portion of the outer rail, a portion of the inner rail and a portion of the center rail.
7. The slider of claim 1, wherein the outer rail further comprises a first stopper feature and the inner rail further comprises a second stopper feature, the first and the second stopper features are configured to prevent fluid originating at outer edges of the outer rail and the inner rail from interacting with the first and second nozzle features.
8. The slider of claim 7, wherein the first stopper is adjacent the outer edge of the outer rail and is located between the trailing edge of the slider and an outer channel dam of the outer rail that provides the outer rail with a bearing surface having above ambient fluid pressure.
9. The slider of claim 7, wherein the second stopper is adjacent the outer edge of the inner rail and is located between the trailing edge the slider and an inner channel dam of the inner rail that provides the inner rail with a bearing surface having above ambient fluid pressure.
10. A slider comprising:
bearing surfaces that provide above ambient fluid pressure;
a cavity located between two bearing surfaces; and
at least one step feature that is spaced apart from the bearing surfaces and is located in and protrudes from a floor of the cavity at a height that is less than a height of the bearing surfaces, the at least one step feature includes surfaces configured to diverge and converge airflow in the cavity.
11. The slider of claim 10, wherein the at least one step feature comprises a four sided rhombus shape that includes a leading edge where two of the sides intersect and a trailing edge where the other two of the sides intersect.
12. The slider of claim 11, wherein the leading edge of the at least one step feature and its adjacent sides define a divergent portion of the at least one step feature.
13. The slider of claim 12, wherein the trailing edge of the at least one step feature is located a spaced distance from a trailing edge of the slider and wherein the trailing edge of the at least one step feature and its adjacent sides define a convergent portion of the at least one step feature.
14. The slider of claim 13, wherein a length of the sides of the divergent portion are greater than a length of the sides of the convergent portion.
15. The slider of claim 10, wherein the at least one step feature comprises three separate step features.
16. The slider claim 15, wherein the first and second step features are located a first spaced distance from a trailing edge of the slider and the third step feature is located a second spaced distance from the trailing edge of the slider, the second spaced distance being greater than the first spaced distance.
17. A method of minimizing lubricant accumulation on a slider, the method comprising:
obtaining a slider body having an outer rail located adjacent to an outer side edge of the slider body, an inner rail located adjacent to an inner side edge of the slider body and a center rail located between the outer rail and the inner, wherein the center rail is separated from the outer rail by a first cavity having a cavity surface and the center rail is separated from the inner rail by a second cavity having a cavity surface; and
preventing fluid stagnation zones from occurring near a trailing edge of the slider body by locating at least a first nozzle feature on the cavity surface of the first cavity and locating at least a second nozzle feature on the cavity surface of the second cavity, the first and second nozzle features are located a spaced distance from a trailing edge of the slider body and each have a divergent portion and a convergent portion, wherein the convergent portions are located in closer proximity to the trailing edge than the divergent portions.
18. The method of claim 17, further comprising preventing fluid that originated at the outer side edge and the inner side edge of the slider body from interacting with the first and second nozzle features by locating a first stopper feature on the outer rail and a second stopper feature on the inner rail, wherein the first stopper feature is adjacent an outer edge of the outer rail and is located between the trailing edge of the slider body and an outer channel dam of the outer rail that provides the outer rail with a bearing surface having above ambient fluid pressure and wherein the second stopper feature is adjacent an outer edge of the inner rail and is located between the trailing edge the slider and an inner channel dam of the inner rail that provides the inner rail with a bearing surface having above ambient fluid pressure.
19. The method of claim 17, further comprising increasing a velocity of fluid between the convergent portion of the first nozzle feature and the outer rail by including a converging surface on a stepper surface of the outer rail.
20. The method of claim 19, further comprising increasing a velocity of fluid between the convergent portion of the second nozzle feature and the inner rail by including a converging surface on a stepper surface of the inner rail.

1. A computing device comprising:
a set of memory resources, including instruction memory that stores a set of instructions, and a data store that stores a collection of digital content items;
a network interface; and
one or more processors that use instructions stored in the memory to:
communicate with a network service using the network interface, including providing an identifier to the network service that associates the computing device with a user account, the account associated with a library of digital content items each having (a) a content portion for consumption by a user, and (b) a metadata portion at least for displaying a visual representation of the digital content item;
generate a user-interface for configuring a transaction for transferring the right of possession to at least some of the digital content items of the library of digital content items; and
identify, from a user selection made through the user-interface, (i) a digital content item from the library of digital content items, and (ii) a transaction type for transferring a right of possession to the digital content item, the transaction type including one of a permanent transfer or a temporary transfer;
implement a transfer in the right of possession by performing one of (i) if the transaction type is temporary, disable the content portion of the selected digital content item on the computing device until a predetermined condition is satisfied; or (ii) if the transaction type is permanent, delete or disable the content portion of the selected digital content item on the computing device; and
after the transfer in the right of possession is complete, provide the visual representation of the selected digital content item on a display of the computing device based on the metadata portion of the selected digital content item, along with one or more indicia indicating that the selected digital content item has been subject to the transfer in the right of possession.
2. The computing device of claim 1, wherein the one or more processors at least partially implement the transfer in the right of possession by receiving programmatic instructions from the network service.
3. The computing device of claim 1, wherein the one or more processors at least partially implement the transfer that is temporary by disabling the selected digital content item for a pre-determined duration.
4. The computing device of claim 3, wherein the one or more processors at least partially implement the transfer that is temporary by triggering a programmatic locking mechanism provided with the digital content item to lock the digital content item so as to preclude user access.
5. The computing device of claim 1, wherein the one or more processors provide the user-interface for configuring the transaction by identifying, from a user selection made through the user-interface, a second digital content item of another user that is to be exchanged.
6. The computing device of claim 5, wherein the one or more processors at least partially implement the transfer that is permanent by downloading, from the network service, the second digital content item that a user specified through the user selection made through the user-interface.
7. The computing device of claim 1, identify, from the user selection made through the user-interface, a transaction price for the selected digital content item.
8. The computing device of claim 1, wherein deleting or disabling the content portion of the selected digital content item comprises disabling or deleting an amount of the content portion which is less than the total content portion.
9. The computing device of claim 1, wherein, if the transaction type is temporary, disabling the content portion of the selected digital content item includes returning the right of possession to an owner from a recipient, in response to the recipient finishing consumption of the selected digital content item.
10. A computer-implemented method for enabling transactions for right of possession to a digital content item, the method being implemented by one or more processors and comprising:
providing a programmatic locking mechanism in connection with a digital content item to one or more users, the digital content item having (a) a content portion for consumption by a user, and (b) a metadata portion at least for displaying a visual representation of the digital content item, the programmatic locking mechanism enabling the content portion of the digital content item to be locked to preclude user access or unlocked to allow user access;
processing a request from a first user to transfer the right of possession to the digital content item in accordance with one or more terms specified by the first user;
in response to receiving the request, controlling the programmatic locking mechanism to lock at least the content portion of the digital content item on one or more computing devices associated with an account of the first user in accordance with the one or more terms specified by the first user; and
after the programmatic locking mechanism is controlled to lock at least the content portion of the digital content item on the one or more computing devices, providing the visual representation of the digital content item on a display of at least one of the one or more computing devices based on the metadata portion of the digital content item, along with one or more indicia indicating that the digital content item has been subject to the transfer of the right of possession.
11. The method of claim 10, further comprising:
in response to receiving the request, identifying the digital content item on a device of a recipient who receives the right of possession to the digital content item from the first user, and
signaling the device of the recipient to unlock the digital content item.
12. The method of claim 11, wherein the one or more terms specified by the first user include a duration during which an identified recipient can have the right of possession to the digital content item, and wherein controlling the programmatic locking mechanism includes signaling the device of the first user to lock the digital content item for a time period that is based on the duration.
13. The method of claim 12, further comprising signaling the device of the recipient to lock the digital content item after the time period that is based on the duration.
14. The method of claim 10, further comprising:
providing a user-interface for configuring a transaction for transferring the right of possession to the digital content item; and
identifying, from a user selection made through the user-interface, (i) the digital content item, (ii) a transaction type for transferring a right of possession to the digital content item, and (iii) a transaction price.
15. The method of claim 14, wherein the transaction type includes one of a permanent transfer or a temporary transfer.
16. The method of claim 10, wherein processing the request from the first user to transfer the right of possession includes (i) identifying a recipient of the right of possession of the digital content item, and (ii) a transaction price.
17. The method of claim 15, further comprising collecting funds from the recipient based on the transaction type, and transferring at least a portion of the funds to the first user.
18. The method of claim 10, wherein processing the request from the first user to transfer the right of possession includes (i) identifying a recipient of the right of possession of the selected digital content item, and (ii) a second digital content item for which the recipient has the right of possession and for which the selected digital content item of the first user is to be exchanged.
19. The method of claim 18, further comprising:
providing the second digital content item with the locking mechanism to each of the first user and a second user, and
implementing an exchange as between the first user and the second user by (i) signaling the one or more computing devices of the first user to lock the selected digital content item and unlock the second digital content item, and (ii) signal the one or more computing devices of the second user to unlock the selected digital content item and lock the second digital content item.
20. The method of claim 19, wherein each of the first and second digital content items corresponds to one of an e-book, an electronic magazine, electronic comic book, an audio playback content items, a video playback content item, or a multimedia game.
