1. A method of operating a first host within a network of a plurality of hosts, the method comprising:
during a first time interval, monitoring requests to send data to destination hosts, the requests being received at the first host from a second host;
comparing with a processor an identity of a destination host identified in a first one of the requests monitored during the first time interval with destination host identities in a record; and
preventing passage of the first one of the requests from the second host to the destination host when the identity of the destination host is not one of the destination host identities in the record and the second host has sent requests to more than a threshold number of destination hosts not in the record during the first time interval.
2. A method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the first host is at least one of: a router, a switch, a SOCKS server, and a proxy.
3. A method according to claim 1, further comprising establishing the record by monitoring the identities of hosts to whom data has been sent by the second during a second time interval which precedes the first time interval.
4. A method according to claim 1, further comprising updating the record to include the identity of at least one destination host to whom data was sent by the second host during the first time interval and which was not in the record during the first time interval.
5. A method according to claim 1, further comprising:
diverting a request to contact a destination host that is not in the record to a delay buffer; and
transmitting the requests from the delay buffer at the end of the first time interval.
6. A method according to claim 1, further comprising monitoring the size of the delay buffer, and in the event that the delay buffer exceeds a first size, generating a warning.
7. A method as claimed in claim 6, further comprising preventing the transmission of data from the second host to destination hosts if the warning is generated.
8. A method as claimed in claim 1, further comprising preventing the transmission of data from the second host to destination hosts if a warning is generated.
9. A method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the preventing passage of the one of the requests is performed at the first host.
10. A method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the transmission of data to destination hosts is prevented by the second host after receiving a warning, the second host being responsive to the warning to stop sending requests to send data to the destination hosts.
11. A tangible memory storing a computer program for causing a computer to perform the method as claimed in claim 1.
12. A tangible computer readable medium storing the computer program for causing a computer to perform the method as claimed in claim 1.
13. A method of operating a first host within a network of a plurality of hosts, the method comprising:
during a first time interval, monitoring requests to send data to destination hosts, the requests being received at the first host from a second host;
determining, with a processor, if an identity of a destination host identified in a first one of the requests monitored during the first time interval is in a set of destination host identities in a record; and
in response to determining that the identity of the destination host identified in the first one of the requests is not in the set of destination host identities in the record, and when the second host has sent requests to more than a first number of destination hosts not in the record during the first time interval, storing data relating to the request in a buffer.
14. A method as claimed in claim 13, further comprising transmitting from the first host requests to send data.
15. A method as claimed in claim 13, further comprising monitoring a size of the buffer, and in response to the monitored size of the buffer exceeding a predetermined size, generating a warning.
16. A method as claimed in claim 13, further comprising preventing the transmission of data from the second host to the destination host if a warning is generated.
17. A method as claimed in claim 13, wherein the transmission of data to the destination host is prevented at the first host.
18. A method as claimed in claim 13, wherein when the second host receives a warning, the transmission of data to the destination host is prevented by causing the second host to stop sending requests to send data to the destination hosts.
19. A tangible memory storing a computer program for causing a computer to perform the method as claimed in claim 13.
20. A tangible computer readable medium storing the computer program for causing a computer to perform the method as claimed in claim 13.

1. A process for realising boxes to measure, characterised in that it comprises the following stages:
collection of at least a sheet (10) of packing material from at least a store (1) of unprocessed material constituted by sheets (10) of packing material having predetermined dimensions and arranged to form a stack;
transferring the at least a sheet (10) collected from the store (1) to a cutting station (2) in which the sheet (1) itself is cut such that a plurality of pieces (11, 12, 13, 14) is obtained therefrom, which plurality of pieces (11, 12, 13, 14) exhibit a common dimension and other dimensions which are different from one another according to predetermined ratios;
transferring pieces (11, 12, 13, 14) on command to at least a plurality of stores (31, 32, 33, 34) aligned to one another, each of which is predisposed to house dimensionally homogeneous pieces in stacks;
collecting, on command, from one of the stores (31, 32, 33, 34) which is preselected according to one of the dimensions of a box to be formed, single pieces for forming a bottom of a box and two first opposite lateral walls (24) thereof;
collecting, on command, from one of the stores (31, 32, 33, 34) which is preselected according to another of the dimensions of a box to be formed, two second opposite lateral walls (24) thereof;
realising, when necessary, a joining of one or more dimensionally-homogeneous pieces one after another for forming, at each cycle for forming a box, at least a longer piece with respect to the dimensionally-homogeneous pieces housed in a corresponding store (31, 32, 33, 34); in which the realising of the longer piece is performed, when necessary, at least for a piece destined to constitute a bottom piece (20) which comprises the bottom and at least two first opposite lateral walls (24) of the box being formed;
cutting to measure said bottom piece (20);
cutting to measure other lateral pieces (21), dimensionally homogeneous to one another and destined to form the two second opposite lateral walls (25);
transferring the bottom and lateral pieces (20, 21) on a work plane (4) located by a flank of the plurality of stores (31, 32, 33, 34);
a first marking or scoring, singly operated, either on the lateral pieces (21) or on the single bottom piece (20) for realising, at predetermined positions of each piece, weakened or scored lines (for a subsequent folding thereof) parallel to a transfer motion direction of the pieces to the work plane (4); the work plane (4) being motorised also to realise a transport motion on command of the bottom and lateral pieces (20, 21) in a perpendicular direction to the transfer motion direction of the pieces (11, 12, 13, 14) from the stores (31, 32, 33, 34) to the work plane (4);
a second marking or scoring, for realising either on the bottom piece (20) andor on the lateral pieces (21) in predetermined positions, weakened or scored lines which are perpendicular to The transfer motion direction of the pieces (11, 12, 13, 14) from the stores (31, 32, 33, 34) to the work plane (4);
possible removal of corner portions of some of the bottom andor lateral pieces (20, 21) previously cut to measure;
a composition destined to join the bottom and lateral pieces (20, 21), previously cut to measure, for forming a single body constituting the blank (40), flat, complete and ready to be folded and glued to form the box.
2. The process of claim 1, characterised in that the single pieces (20) for forming the bottom of the box and at least two first opposite lateral sides 24 thereof can also comprise one or more walls (26) having a cover function, which, once composition of the box has been completed with the bottom wall and the lateral walls 24, 25, are folded to form the cover and are fixed on flaps 18, appropriately folded on the weakened or scored lines of the lateral walls 21.
3. The process of claim 1, characterised in that the sheets (10) of packing material having predetermined dimensions and arranged to form a stack are identical to one another at least with reference to greater dimensions thereof, i.e. length and width.
4. The process of claim 1, characterised in that realisation of a joining of one or more of the dimensionally-homogeneous pieces one consecutively to another, as a continuous strip, is done by joining the pieces at ends of smaller dimensions thereof.
5. The process of claim 4, characterised in that the joining of the pieces at the ends thereof is done by partially superposing and reciprocally fixing the ends.
6. The process of claim 5, characterised in that the joining of the pieces at the ends is done by partial superposing and relative gluing of the superposed parts.
7. A plant for realising blanks for manufacturing boxes to measure, characterised in that it comprises:
at least a store (1) of unprocessed materials which is constituted by sheets (10) of material to be assembled having predetermined dimensions and being arranged to form a stack; means for collecting the sheets (10) from the at least a store (1) and for transferring the sheets (10) to a cutting station (2) in which the sheets (10) are cut such that from each sheet a plurality of pieces (11, 12, 13, 14) is fashioned, which pieces exhibit a common dimension and different other dimensions according to predetermined ratios;
at least a plurality of stores (31, 32, 33, 34), each predisposed to house pieces (11, 12, 13, 14) that are dimensionally homogeneous and arranged in stacks; the stores (31, 32, 33, 34) being aligned consecutively to one another and being served by a transport device (5) destined to deposit on command the various pieces (11, 12, 13, 14) in the respective stores (31, 32, 33, 34);
at least a work unit (6) destined to collect on command, from each of the stores (31, 32, 33, 34) single pieces (11, 12, 13, 14) and realising, on command, at least for some pieces, a joining of several dimensionally-homogeneous pieces one consecutive to another, to form longer pieces with respect to the dimensionally-homogeneous pieces housed in the corresponding store (31, 32, 33, 34) and to transfer the pieces onto a work plane (4) located by a flank of the stores (31, 32, 33, 34); the work plane (4) being provided on command with a transport motion which is perpendicular to the motion of the work unit (6) i.e. in a perpendicular direction to the direction of transfer motion of the pieces (11, 12, 13, 14) from the stores (31, 32, 33, 34) to the work plane (4);
a cutter destined to perform the cutting to measure of the pieces (11, 12, 13, 14);
a first device destined to operate a first marking or scoring, on at least some of the pieces, in order to realise, in predetermined positions on each piece, weakened or scoring lines (for subsequent folding) parallel to the transfer motion direction of the pieces to the work plane (4);
a second device for operating a second marking or scoring, for realising, in predetermined positions, weakened or scored lines that are perpendicular to the motion direction of the transfer motion from the stores 31, 32, 33, 34) to the work plane (4);
a device for performing, if required, a removal of corner portions from some of the pieces previously cut to measure;
a station (9) for performing the composition destined to join the pieces, previously cut to measure, and marked with weakened lines or scoring in order to form a single body constituting the blank (40) which is flat, complete and ready to be folded and glued to form the box.
8. The plant of claim 6, characterised in that the cutter is destined to perform, for forming each box, both a cutting to measure of a bottom piece (20) comprising the bottom and at least two first opposite lateral walls (24) of a box (20) under formation, and a cutting to measure of further lateral pieces (21), dimensionally homogeneous to one another and destined to form two second opposite lateral walls (25).
9. The plant of claim 7, characterised in that the first device is destined to operate a first marking or scoring on at least the lateral pieces (21) in order to realise, in predetermined positions of each piece, weakened or scored lines for a following folding operation, which lines are parallel to the motion direction of transfer of the pieces of the work plane (4).
10. The plant of claim 7, characterised in that the second device performs a second marking or scoring in order to realise, in predetermined portions, weakened or scored lines which are perpendicular to the motion direction of transfer from the stores (31, 32, 33, 34) to the work plane (4) on the bottom piece (20) andor on the lateral pieces (21).
11. The plant of claim 6, characterised in that the cutter and the first device are associated to the work unit (6).
12. The process of claim 2, characterised in that the sheets (10) of packing material having predetermined dimensions and arranged to form a stack are identical to one another at least with reference to greater dimensions thereof, i.e. length and width.
13. The process of claim 2, characterised in that realisation of a joining of one or more of the dimensionally-homogeneous pieces one consecutively to another, as a continuous strip, is done by joining the pieces at ends of smaller dimensions thereof.
