1. A drill bit for percussive rock drilling tools, comprising:
a drill bit head having a front surface including a face surface defining a forward-most end of the drill bit head;
at least one hole located in the drill bit head for receiving a button;
at least one recess disposed in the face surface, the at least one recess being larger than the at least one hole, the at least one hole being disposed in the at least one recess so that an open end of the at least one hole is disposed below the face surface, the drill bit head including a gauge surrounding the face surface, wherein the at least one recess is partially disposed in the gauge.
2. The drill bit for percussive rock drilling tools as set forth in claim 1, further comprising at least one flow opening extending at least partially through the drill bit head.
3. The drill bit for percussive rock drilling tools as set forth in claim 2, further comprising at least one flow channel extending from the face surface of the front surface to an outer periphery of the front surface of the drill bit head and for each flow channel, at least one respective flow opening terminating at the respective flow channel.
4. The drill bit for percussive rock drilling tools as set forth in claim 3, further comprising a plurality of flow channels and respective flow openings.
5. The drill bit for percussive rock drilling tools as set forth in claim 4, wherein the plurality of flow channels are evenly arranged around the front surface.
6. The drill bit for percussive rock drilling tools as set forth in claim 4, wherein a plurality of recesses are provided, at least one of the plurality of recesses being disposed between any two consecutive flow channels
7. The drill bit for percussive rock drilling tools as set forth in claim 1, wherein the at least one hole is partially disposed in the gauge.
8. The drill bit for percussive rock drilling tools as set forth in claim 1, further comprising at least one gauge hole for receiving a gauge button entirely in the gauge.
9. The drill bit for percussive rock drilling tools as set forth in claim 1, further comprising a plurality of flow channels extending from the face surface of the front surface to an outer periphery of the front surface of the drill bit head and evenly arranged around the front surface and, for each of the plurality of flow channels, at least one respective flow opening terminates at a respective flow channel, wherein a plurality of gauge holes and a plurality of recesses are provided, at least one gauge hole and at least one recess being disposed between any two consecutive flow channels.
10. The drill bit for percussive rock drilling tools as set forth in claim 1, further comprising at least one face surface hole for receiving a face button entirely in the face surface.
11. The drill bit for percussive rock drilling tools as set forth in claim 1, further comprising at least one face surface hole and a face button disposed in the face surface hole, at least one gauge hole and a gauge button disposed in the gauge hole, wherein the button is disposed in the at least one hole, a forward-most point of the button being disposed behind a forward-most point of the at least one face button in a direction of a longitudinal axis of the drill bit and even with or forward of a forward-most point of the gauge button.
12. The drill bit for percussive rock drilling tools as set forth in claim 1, further comprising at least one axially extending groove in an external surface of the drill bit, the at least one groove extending to the front surface, the at least one recess being disposed on a radial line that extends between the groove and a longitudinal axis of the drill bit.
13. The drill bit for percussive rock drilling tools as set forth in claim 1, wherein an imaginary circle coinciding with at least major parts of an inner edge of the gauge intersects the at least one hole and the button.
14. A drilling tool having a drill bit for percussive rock drilling tools the drill bit comprising a drill bit head having a front surface including a face surface defining a forward-most end of the drill bit head; at least one hole in the drill bit head for receiving a button; at least one recess located in the face surface, the at least one recess being larger than the at least one hole, the at least one hole being disposed in the at least one recess so that an open end of the at least one hole is disposed below the face surface, the drill bit head including a gauge surrounding the face surface, wherein the at least one recess is partially disposed in the gauge.

1. A damage prevention housing for protecting a roof pipe comprising:
a hollow body having an interior dimensioned to enclose a roof pipe on a roof, the hollow body having an open proximal end suitable for positioning over the roof pipe and a partially closed distal end dimensioned to preclude access by rodents but allow movement of gases therethrough;
said hollow body further comprising an aperture positioned adjacent to the proximal end and a fastener for securing the hollow body in a fixed position relative to the roof pipe and the roof.
2. The damage prevention housing of claim 1 wherein the aperture is substantially circular.
3. The damage prevention housing of claim 1 wherein the aperture is an arch having an open base on the proximal end with the arch extending from the proximal end toward the distal end.
4. The damage prevention housing of claim 1 wherein the hollow body is a substantially circular enclosure surrounding the roof pipe.
5. The damage prevention housing of claim 1 wherein the hollow body is a substantially oval enclosure surrounding the roof pipe.
6. The damage prevention housing of claim 1 wherein the hollow body is a multi-sided polygon surrounding the roof pipe.
7. The damage prevention housing of claim 1 wherein the fastener comprises one or more screws positioned substantially perpendicular to the hollow body and the roof pipe and extending through the hollow body to make contact with the roof pipe.
8. A damage prevention housing for protecting a roof pipe comprising:
a hollow body having an interior dimensioned to enclose a roof pipe on a roof, the hollow body having an open proximal end suitable for positioning over the roof pipe and a partially closed distal end dimensioned to preclude access by rodents but allow movement of gases therethrough;
the hollow body further comprising a fastener for securing the hollow body in a fixed position relative to the roof pipe and the roof; and
the hollow body further comprising one or more roof pitch markings adjacent to the proximal end and extending across the hollow body to show where the damage prevention housing may be cut to match the pitch of the roof during installation.
9. The damage prevention housing of claim 8 wherein the hollow body further comprises an aperture positioned on or adjacent to the proximal end.
10. The damage prevention housing of claim 9 wherein the aperture comprises an arch having an open base on the proximal end with the arch extending from the proximal end toward the distal end.
11. The damage prevention housing of claim 9 wherein the aperture is substantially circular.
12. The damage prevention housing of claim 8 wherein the fastener comprises one or more screws positioned substantially perpendicular to the hollow body and the roof pipe and extending through the hollow body to make contact with the roof pipe.
13. The damage prevention housing of claim 8 wherein the roof pitch markings include markings for roof pitches of 20 degree, 22.5 degree, 27 degree, 30 degree and 34 degree from a horizontal roof position with respect to the ground below the building.
14. The damage prevention housing of claim 8 wherein the hollow body is a substantially circular enclosure surrounding the roof pipe.
15. The damage prevention housing of claim 8 wherein the hollow body is a multi-sided enclosure surrounding the roof pipe.
16. The damage prevention housing of claim 8 wherein the hollow body is a substantially oval enclosure surrounding the roof pipe.
17. A method of installing a damage prevention housing for protecting a roof pipe comprising:
determining the pitch of a roof having at least one roof pipe;
selecting a damage prevention housing dimensioned to enclose the roof pipe, the damage prevention housing having one or more roof pitch markings showing where the damage prevention housing may be cut to match the pitch of the roof;
cutting the damage prevention housing along one of the roof pitch markings to match the pitch of the roof; and
fastening the damage prevention housing in place over the roof pipe.
18. The method of claim 17 wherein fastening the damage prevention housing in place over the roof pipe further comprises inserting one or more screws through the hollow body to make contact with the roof pipe.
19. The method of claim 17 further comprising repairing damage to a lead casing surrounding the roof pipe prior to fastening the damage prevention housing in place over the roof pipe.
