1. A method for providing a notification that a request to initiate an instant messaging conversation has been received, comprising:
receiving said request to initiate an instant messaging conversation;
in response to receiving said request, displaying a notification window comprising an identification of an instant messaging user associated with said request and a topic for said instant messaging conversation;
determining whether a request has been received to respond to said request to initiate an instant messaging conversation, said request to respond to said request to initiate an instant messaging conversation being initiated by selecting said identification of said instant messaging user associated with said request or said topic for said instant messaging conversation; and
in response to determining that said request has not been received within a predetermined amount of time, gradually removing said notification window, wherein said identification of said instant messaging user associated with said request or said topic for said instant messaging conversation may be selected until said notification window is completely removed.
2. A method for providing a notification that a request to initiate an instant conversation has been received, comprising:
receiving said request to initiate an instant messaging conversation;
in response to receiving said request, displaying a notification window comprising an identification of an instant messaging user associated with said request and a topic for said instant messaging conversation;
determining whether a request has not been received to respond to said request to initiate an instant messaging conversation;
in response to determining that said request was not received within a predetermined amount of time, gradually removing said notification window; and
in response to determining that said request has been received within a predetermined amount of time initiating an instant messaging conversation with said user associated with said request.
3. A method for, providing a notification that an instant message has been received, comprising;
receiving said instant message;
in response to receiving said instant message, displaying a notification window comprising an identification of an instant messaging user associated with said instant massage and said instant message;
determining whether said instant message is intended for an instant messaging client application window that is not a visible window or that is not a foreground window;
in response to determining that said instant message is intended for a non-visible or non-foreground window, displaying said notification window as a visible foreground window; determining whether a request to reply to said instant message was received within a predetermined amount of time; and
in response to determining that said request was not received, gradually removing said notification window.
4. The method of claim 3, further comprising:
in response to determining that said request was received, making a window associated with an instant messaging client application an active foreground window.
5. A method for providing a notification that an instant message has been received from a business partner computer, comprising:
receiving said instant message;
in response to receiving said instant message, gradually displaying a notification window comprising an identification of a business partner associated with said instant message and said instant message;
directing a web browser to a web site associated with said business partner in response to the selection of said identification of said business partner or said instant message;
determining whether a selection of said identification of said business partner or said instant message was received within a predetermined amount of time; and in response to determining that said selection was not received gradually removing said notification window, wherein said identification of said business partner or said instant message may be selected until said notification window has been completely removed.

The claims below are in addition to those above.
All refrences to claim(s) which appear below refer to the numbering after this setence.

1. A hybrid vehicle control device which controls a hybrid vehicle comprising an internal combustion engine, a power generator which generates electric power by mechanical power of the internal combustion engine, a first inverter which controls the power generator, a motor which drives a wheel, and a second inverter which controls the motor, the hybrid vehicle control device comprising:
a detecting unit which detects, during driving of the first inverter, a value which is defined in advance and which is necessary for a failurenon-failure diagnosis of at least one of the power generator and the first inverter, and
a control unit which controls the driving of the first inverter and which diagnoses failurenon-failure of at least one of the power generator and the first inverter based on a detection result by the detecting unit, wherein
the control unit stops driving of the first inverter when the control unit judges that the failurenon-failure diagnosis is not necessary during electric running in which the wheel is driven with the motor, and the control unit instructs to drive the first inverter until the detection by the detecting unit is completed even during the electric running when the control unit judges that the failurenon-failure diagnosis is necessary.
2. The hybrid vehicle control device according to claim 1, further comprising:
a storage unit which stores a diagnosis result by the control unit separately for each trip period which is a running period from switching ON of an ignition switch to switching OFF of the ignition switch, wherein
when the control unit judges that a number of diagnoses has not reached a target number of diagnoses based on a diagnosis result stored in the storage unit, the control unit judges that the failurenon-failure diagnosis is necessary and instructs to drive the first inverter even during the electric running.
3. The hybrid vehicle control device according to claim 2, wherein
the control unit drives and controls the first inverter during execution of the detection by the detecting unit so that the power generator is zero-torque controlled.
4. The hybrid vehicle control device according to claim 2, further comprising:
a rotational speed detecting unit which detects the rotational speed of the power generator by co-rotation, wherein
the control unit instructs to drive the first inverter to execute the detection by the detecting unit when the number of diagnoses has not reached the target number and the rotational speed detected by the rotational speed detecting unit has reached a rotational speed which is appropriate for diagnosis of the power generator.
5. The hybrid vehicle control device according to claim 1, wherein
the power supply can be internally charged by the internal combustion engine and the power generator and can be externally charged by an external power supply.
