Having described the invention, the following is claimed:
1. A pull for pulling open a movable member made of wood which closes an opening, said pull comprising:
an elongate flexible member having first and second end portions, said first end portion being connectable to an inner wood surface of a front portion of the movable member,
said flexible member having an intermediate portion disposed between said first and second end portions and extendable over an edge portion of the movable member,
said flexible member having a manually gripable rigid part which is engagable with an outer front surface of the movable member,
said manually gripable rigid part being spaced from the movable member and said intermediate portion being tensioned when pulling open the movable member to open said opening.
2. The pull according to claim 1 wherein said movable member is selected from the group consisting of: a drawer and a cabinet door.
3. The pull according to claim 1 wherein said manually gripable rigid part, when pulled to open said movable member, is spaced from said front surface of said movable member.
4. A drawer assembly comprising:
a drawer including a drawer front structure having a front surface and a rear surface with an upper peripheral surface extending between said front surface and said rear surface; and
a drawer pull for pulling open said drawer, said drawer pull comprising an elongate flexible member having first and second end portions with an intermediate portion disposed between said first and second end portions, said first end portion of said flexible member being secured to said rear surface of said drawer front structure, said intermediate portion of said flexible member extends over said upper peripheral surface of said drawer front structure, said second end portion of said flexible member having a manually gripable rigid part which lies against said front surface of said drawer front structure without being secured to said front surface of said drawer front structure, said manually gripable rigid part of said flexible member being pulled to open said drawer.
5. The drawer assembly of claim 1 wherein said manually gripable rigid part, when pulled to open said drawer, is spaced from said front surface of said drawer front structure.
6. The drawer assembly of claim 1 wherein said flexible member includes a textile material and said manually gripable rigid part includes a rigid article encased by said textile material.
7. The drawer assembly of claim 6 wherein said textile material is selected from the group consisting of: velvet, velveteen, silk, satin, flannel, fleece, brocade, imitation leather, imitation suede, cotton fabric, polyester fabric and cottonpolyester blend fabric.
8. The drawer assembly of claim 1 wherein said flexible member includes a strip of leather.
9. The drawer assembly of claim 1 further including a decorative element connected to said flexible member, said decorative element being selected from the group consisting of: a button, imitation jewelry, imitation wood and a wood carving.
10. The drawer assembly of claim 1 wherein said rigid part is selected from the group consisting of: wood, metal and plastic.
11. The drawer assembly of claim 1 wherein said flexible member includes a strip of leather and said manually gripable rigid part includes a rigid article encased by said strip of leather and a decorative element attached to said strip of leather.
12. A drawer pull for pulling open a drawer, said drawer pull comprising:
an elongate flexible member having first and second end portions, said first end portion being connectable to an inner surface of a front face of the drawer,
said flexible member having an intermediate portion disposed between said first and second end portions and extendable over an upper portion of the drawer,
said flexible member having a manually gripable rigid part which is engagable with the front face of the drawer,
said manually gripable rigid part being spaced from the drawer when pulling open the drawer.
13. A cabinet door pull for pulling open a cabinet door made of wood which closes an opening, said cabinet door pull comprising:
an elongate flexible member having first and second end portions, said first end portion being connectable to an inner wood surface of a front portion of the cabinet door,
said flexible member having an intermediate portion disposed between said first and second end portions and extendable over an edge portion of the cabinet door,
said flexible member having a manually gripable rigid part which is engagable with an outer front surface of the cabinet door,
said manually gripable rigid part being spaced from the cabinet door and said intermediate portion being tensioned when pulling open the cabinet door to open said opening.

1. A pen retention device comprising:
a pen;
a tether having a first end and a second end, the first end of the tether attached to the pen;
a retracting reel in operable communication with the second end of the tether;
a bracket releasably securing the retracting reel therein, the bracket comprising:
a first surface and a second surface, the second surface disposed parallel to and opposite the first surface;
a third surface and a fourth surface, the fourth surface disposed parallel to and opposite the third surface, thereby defining a cavity having four sides comprising the first surface, the second surface, the third surface, and the fourth surface, the cavity having a top opening and a bottom opening, the top opening disposed opposite the bottom opening;
a first rectangular protrusion and a second rectangular protrusion disposed upon the first surface, the first rectangular protrusion and the second rectangular protrusion extending from the first surface toward the second surface, a distance between the first rectangular protrusion and the second rectangular protrusion greater than a height of the retracting reel;
wherein a depth between the first surface and the second surface is approximately equal to a depth of the retracting reel;
wherein the retracting reel is disposed within the cavity between the first rectangular protrusion and the second rectangular protrusion;
wherein a depth between the second surface and both of the first rectangular protrusion and the second rectangular protrusion is less than the depth of the retracting reel;
wherein the first surface is responsive to an application of force to the retracting reel to elastically deform and increase the depth between the second surface and at least one of the first rectangular protrusion and the second rectangular protrusion, thereby releasing the retracting reel via either of the top opening and the bottom opening.
2. The pen retention device of claim 1, wherein the cavity is a rectangular cavity.
