1. A cardiac rhythm management device, comprising:
a pacing channel for delivering pacing pulses to a selected ventricular myocardial site;
a controller for controlling the delivery of pacing pulses in accordance with a programmed pacing mode;
wherein the controller is programmed to intermittently switch from a normal operating mode to a stress augmentation mode in which a particular region or regions of the ventricular myocardium are subjected to increased mechanical stress as compared with the stress experienced by those regions during the normal operating mode.
2. The device of claim 1 wherein the normal operating mode is a primary pacing mode for delivering ventricular pacing therapy and wherein stress augmentation mode causes a different depolarization pattern than the primary pacing mode.
3. The device of claim 2 wherein the stress augmentation mode excites the ventricular myocardium at a site or sites different from the primary pacing mode.
4. The device of claim 2 wherein the switch from a primary pacing mode to a stress augmentation mode involves switching form bipolar pacing to unipolar pacing or vice-versa.
5. The device of claim 2 wherein the switch from a primary pacing mode to a stress augmentation mode involves switching which electrode of a bipolar pacing lead is the cathode and which electrode is the anode.
6. The device of claim 2 further comprising:
multiple pacing channels for delivering pacing pulses to a plurality of ventricular pacing sites; and,
wherein the stress augmentation mode uses at least one pacing channel not used in the primary pacing mode.
7. The device of claim 6 wherein the switch from a primary pacing mode to a stress augmentation mode involves switching from left ventricle-only pacing to right ventricular pacing or vice-versa.
8. The device of claim 6 wherein the switch from a primary pacing mode to a stress augmentation mode involves switching from biventricular pacing to single ventricular pacing or vice-versa.
9. The device of claim 1 further comprising an exertion level sensor and wherein the controller is programmed such that the switch from a normal operating mode to a stress augmentation mode is inhibited if the measured exertion level is above a specified limit value.
10. The device of claim 1 wherein the controller is programmed to detect cardiac ischemia from an electrogram morphology analysis and further wherein the controller is programmed such that the switch from a normal operating mode to a stress augmentation mode is inhibited if cardiac ischemia is detected.
11. A method for operating a cardiac rhythm management device, comprising intermittently switching from a normal operating mode to a stress augmentation mode in which a particular region or regions of the ventricular myocardium are subjected to increased mechanical stress as compared with the stress experienced by those regions during the normal operating mode.
12. The method of claim 11 wherein the normal operating mode is a primary pacing mode for delivering ventricular pacing therapy and wherein stress augmentation mode causes a different depolarization pattern than the primary pacing mode.
13. The method of claim 12 wherein the stress augmentation mode excites the ventricular myocardium at a site or sites different from the primary pacing mode.
14. The method of claim 12 wherein the switch from a primary pacing mode to a stress augmentation mode involves switching form bipolar pacing to unipolar pacing or vice-versa.
15. The method of claim 12 wherein the switch from a primary pacing mode to a stress augmentation mode involves switching which electrode of a bipolar pacing lead is the cathode and which electrode is the anode.
16. The method of claim 12 wherein the device is equipped with multiple pacing channels and further wherein the stress augmentation mode uses at least one pacing channel not used in the primary pacing mode.
17. The method of claim 16 wherein the switch from a primary pacing mode to a stress augmentation mode involves switching from left ventricle-only pacing to right ventricular pacing or vice-versa.
18. The method of claim 16 wherein the switch from a primary pacing mode to a stress augmentation mode involves switching from biventricular pacing to single ventricular pacing or vice-versa.
19. The method of claim 11 further comprising measuring a patient’s exertion level inhibiting the switch from a normal operating mode to a stress augmentation mode if the measured exertion level is above a specified limit value.
20. The method of claim 11 further comprising detecting cardiac ischemia from an electrogram morphology analysis and inhibiting the switch from a normal operating mode to a stress augmentation mode if cardiac ischemia is detected.

1. An information processing system comprising:
an information processing device including a display processing unit performing processing of displaying on a display unit a basic screen containing a selection image and a background image, the selection image being constructed from one or a plurality of images used for receiving selection operation, the background image serving as a background of the selection image; and
a background image transmission device transmitting the background image of the basic screen, wherein
the display processing unit of the information processing device automatically receives the background image transmitted by the background image transmission device and displays the received background image in the background of the selection image.
2. The information processing system according to claim 1, wherein the background image transmission device performs push-based information distribution of the background image.
3. The information processing system according to claim 1, wherein
the information processing device automatically performs transmission request to the background image transmission device for the background image, and wherein
in response to the request from the information processing device, the background image transmission device transmits the background image.
4. The information processing system according to claim 1, wherein on a basis of a given transmission condition, the background image transmission device transmits the background image to the information processing device.
5. The information processing system according to claim 4, wherein the background image transmission device stores the background image provided with a type, and transmits a background image of a type defined as the given transmission condition for each information processing device.
6. The information processing system according to claim 5, wherein
the information processing device includes:
a type setting reception unit receiving setting of the type; and
a type setting transmission unit transmitting to the background image transmission device the setting received by the type setting reception unit, and wherein
in accordance with setting of the type received from the information processing device, the background image transmission device transmits a background image.
7. The information processing system according to claim 1, wherein
the information processing device includes:
a transmission permissibility setting reception unit receiving setting of permission or non-permission of transmission of the background image performed by the background image transmission device; and
a transmission permissibility setting transmission unit transmitting to the background image transmission device the setting received by the transmission permissibility setting reception unit, and wherein
in accordance with the setting of permission or non-permission received from the information processing device, the background image transmission device transmits the background image to the information processing device transmission to which is permitted.
8. The information processing system according to claim 1, wherein
the information processing device includes:
a determination unit determining whether a given condition has been satisfied; and
a change unit, when the determination unit determines that the given condition has been satisfied, changing the background image and at least one of the setting items, other than the background image, concerning the user interface.
9. An information processing system comprising:
a display processing unit performing processing of displaying on a display unit a basic screen containing a selection image and a background image, the selection image being constructed from one or a plurality of images used for receiving selection operation, the background image serving as a background of the selection image;
a determination unit determining whether a given condition has been satisfied; and
a change unit, when the determination unit determines that the given condition has been satisfied, changing the background image and at least one of setting items, other than the background image, concerning a user interface.
10. An information processing device comprising:
a display processing unit performing processing of displaying on a display unit a basic screen containing a selection image and a background image, the selection image being constructed from one or a plurality of images used for receiving selection operation, the background image serving as a background of the selection image; and
a background image reception unit automatically receiving the background image transmitted by a background image transmission device, wherein
when the background image reception unit has automatically received the background image from the background image transmission device, the display processing unit displays the received background image in the background of the selection image.
11. An information processing device comprising:
a display processing unit performing processing of displaying on a display unit a basic screen containing a selection image and a background image, the selection image being constructed from one or a plurality of images used for receiving selection operation, the background image serving as a background of the selection image;
a determination unit determining whether a given condition has been satisfied; and
a change unit, when the determination unit determines that the given condition has been satisfied, changing the background image and at least one of the setting items, other than the background image, concerning the user interface.
12. The information processing device according to claim 11, wherein the given condition is a condition concerning a date, a time of day, or a time.
13. The information processing device according to claim 11, wherein the given condition is a condition concerning execution of given application.
14. The information processing device according to claim 11, wherein the setting item to be changed by the change unit includes at least one of a BGM, a sound effect, a design of an icon, and a design of a window.
15. The information processing device according to claim 11, comprising
a type setting reception unit storing the background image provided with a type, and receiving setting of the type, wherein
on a basis of the type whose setting has been received by the type setting reception unit, the change unit changes the background image and at least one of the setting items.
16. A non-transitory recording medium in which an information processing program is recorded, the program causing an information processing device to operate as:
a display processing unit performing processing of displaying on a display unit a basic screen containing a selection image and a background image, the selection image being constructed from one or a plurality of images used for receiving selection operation, the background image serving as a background of the selection image; and
a background image reception unit automatically receiving the background image transmitted by a background image transmission device, wherein
when the background image reception unit has automatically received the background image from the background image transmission device, the display processing unit displays the received background image in the background of the selection image.
17. A non-transitory recording medium in which an information processing program is recorded, the program causing an information processing device to operate as:
a display processing unit performing processing of displaying on a display unit a basic screen containing a selection image and a background image, the selection image being constructed from one or a plurality of images used for receiving selection operation, the background image serving as a background of the selection image;
a determination unit determining whether a given condition has been satisfied; and
a change unit, when the determination unit determines that the given condition has been satisfied, changing the background image and at least one of the setting items, other than the background image, concerning the user interface.
18. An information processing system comprising:
a first information processing device including at least one processor configured to display on a display a selection image and a background image, the selection image being constructed from one or a plurality of images used for receiving selection operation, the background image serving as a background of the selection image; and
a second information processing device including at least one processor configured to transmit the background image to the first information processing device, wherein
the at least one processor of the first information processing device is further configured to automatically receive the background image transmitted by the second information processing device and display the received background image in the background of the selection image.
