1. A wire electric discharge machine comprising:
a table on which a workpiece is mounted;
at least two linear axes for moving a wire electrode and the workpiece relative to each other;
a mount portion to which the workpiece can be attached and which can be mounted on the table, the mount portion having at least two rotary axes; and
a control unit for synchronously moving the linear axes and the rotary axes in accordance with a machining program to perform machining while relatively changing a tilt of the workpiece with respect to the wire electrode.
2. The wire electric discharge machine according to claim 1, wherein based on a tilt angle of the wire electrode and amounts of travel of the wire electrode by the linear axes relative to the workpiece, the tilt angle and the amounts of travel being commanded by the machining program, and on prestored axes of rotation of the rotary axes, the control unit generates renewed amounts of travel of the wire electrode relative to the workpiece and amounts of rotation of the rotary axes for performing machining with the wire electrode vertically oriented.
3. The wire electric discharge machine according to claim 1, wherein based on a tilt angle of the wire electrode and amounts of travel of the wire electrode, the tilt angle and the amounts of travel being commanded by the machining program, and on prestored axes of rotation of the rotary axes, the control unit converts a command for tilting the wire electrode and a command for moving the wire electrode relative to the workpiece in the machining program for performing machining with the wire electrode vertically oriented, to a command for moving the wire electrode with respect to the workpiece and a command for rotating the rotary axes.
4. The wire electric discharge machine according to claim 2, wherein the control unit finds rotation matrices using the axes of rotation and the tilt angle of the wire electrode from a vertical direction, and finds amounts of travel of the wire electrode relative to the workpiece and amounts of rotation of the rotary axes using the found rotation matrices.

1. The method of activating a gaming machine by an individual player for subsequent play, which comprises:
receiving a manual actuation from the individual player by said gaming machine to enable said gaming machine to accept noncontact electronic data transmission from a card carried by the player;
receiving a display of the card from the player by the gaming machine, without physical contact between said gaming machine and said card;
said card comprising suitable electronics for data transmission;
causing wireless transfer of first individualized data concerning the player from the card to the gaming machine or to a computer network that is associated with said gaming machine;
evaluating said data against a stored database;
upon favorable evaluation of said data, said gaming machine providing a personalized greeting to the player;
receiving biometric sensing as separate, personal identification to the gaming machine;
evaluating said biometric sensing;
activating said gaming machine for said subsequent play upon favorable evaluation of said data and said sensing;
during or after said subsequent play, causing wireless transfer of second, individualized data back to the card to be stored.
2. The method of claim 1 in which, after evaluation of said data, the gaming machine is activated in a specific mode selected from a plurality of possible modes of activation, the specific mode selected being a function of the individualized data.
3. The method of claim 2 in which the specific mode selected comprises a particular game or choice of games to be played.
4. The method of claim 2 in which the specific mode selected comprises a special offer of a benefit or activity for the player.
5. The method of claim 1 in which said individualized data are transferred by a radio or microwave frequency signal from the card to the gaming machine or said computer network.
6. The method of claim 1 in which the card includes readable indicia and said indicia are electronic indicia stored in a memory of a microprocessor carried in the card.
7. The method of claim 1 in which the card is carried by the player in the form of an article of personal adornment or clothing.
8. The method of claim 7 in which the card is carried by the player in the form of a wristwatch.
9. The method of claim 1 in which said card carries a microprocessor, said microprocessor providing a plurality of separate accounts to the user.
10. The method of claim 1 in which said gaming machine is configured to receive a manual depression of a button for actuation of said gaming machine.
