What is claimed is:

1.) An isolated nucleic acid derived from a human gene encoding a protein selected from a member of the group consisting of the human OATP2 protein, and human cMOAT protein, wherein said nucleic acid comprises at least one polymorphic position.
2.) The isolated nucleic acid of claim 1 wherein said at least one polymorphic position for each said gene is a polymorphic position specified in Table IV, V, or complement thereof.
3.) The isolated nucleic acid of claim 2 wherein the sequence at said at least one polymorphic position is depicted in a nucleic acid sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO: 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21,23, 25, 27, 29, 31,33, 35,37, 39,41,43,45,47,49, 603, 51 to 326, or complement thereof.
4.) The isolated nucleic acid of claim 3 wherein said at least one polymorphic position resides in a member of the group consisting of: a non-coding position within the genomic sequence of said gene; a coding position within the genomic sequence of said gene; a coding position which results in a missense mutation of the translated product of said gene; a coding position that results in a silent mutation of the translated product of said gene; a non-coding position that resides within the untranslated region of said gene; and a non-coding position that resides within an intronic region of said gene.
5.) The isolated nucleic acid molecule according to claim 4, wherein said nucleic acid sequence is at least 15 nucleotides in length.
6.) The isolated nucleic acid molecule according to claim 4, wherein said nucleic acid sequence is at least 30 nucleotides in length.
7.) The isolated nucleic acid molecule according to claim 4, wherein said nucleic acid sequence is at least 40 nucleotides in length.
8.) A probe that hybridizes to a polymorphic position defined in claim 2.
9.) The probe of claim 8 wherein said probe is at least 15 nucleotides in length.
10.) The probe of claim 9 wherein a central position of the probe aligns with said polymorphic position.
11.) The probe of claim 9 wherein the 3 end of the primer aligns with said polymorphic position.
12.) A method of analyzing at least one nucleic acid sample, comprising the steps of (1) obtaining a nucleic acid sample from one or more individuals; and (2) determining the nucleic acid sequence at one or more polymorphic positions in a gene encoding a protein selected from the group consisting of the human OATP2 protein, and human cMOAT protein, wherein the presence of a reference allele at said position(s) correlates to a phenotype.
13.) A method of identifying at least one nucleic acid sample that correlates to a phenotype, comprising the steps of (1) obtaining said nucleic acid sample from one or more individuals; and (2) determining the nucleic acid sequence at one or more polymorphic positions in a gene encoding a protein selected from the group consisting of the human OATP2 protein, and human cMOAT protein, wherein the presence of a alternate allele at said position(s) correlates to said phenotype.
14.) The method according to claim 12, wherein the phenotype is selected from the group consisting of: low hepatic statin uptake, decreased statin response; increased risk of developing drug interactions upon administration of at least one statin; increased susceptibility for developing a cardiovascular disorder; increased susceptibility for developing high cholesterol levels, metabolic dieases, inflammatory diseases, hypertension, and congestive heart failure; increased susceptibility for having low efficious response to pravastatin therapy; increased susceptibility for having decreased ability to transport compounds by organic anion transporters; increased susceptibility for having decreased ability to transport compounds by organic anion transporters in the liver; increased susceptibility for developing liver disease; increased susceptibility for developing a disease associated with low levels of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol; increased susceptibility to develop multidrug resistance; increased susceptibility to to have decreased response to HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor therapy; increased susceptibility for developing a disorder due to decreased hepatic or cellular uptake of taurocholate, estrone sulfate, estradiol 17-D-glucuronide, leukotriene C4, prostaglandin E2, or thyroid hormone.
15.) The method according to claim 13, wherein the phenotype is selected from the group consisting of: low hepatic statin uptake, decreased statin response; increased risk of developing drug interactions upon administration of at least one statin; increased susceptibility for developing a cardiovascular disorder; increased susceptibility for developing high cholesterol levels, metabolic dieases, inflammatory diseases, hypertension, and congestive heart failure; increased susceptibility for having low efficious response to pravastatin therapy; increased susceptibility for having decreased ability to transport compounds by organic anion transporters; increased susceptibility for having decreased ability to transport compounds by organic anion transporters in the liver; increased susceptibility for developing liver disease; increased susceptibility for developing a disease associated with low levels of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol; increased susceptibility to develop multidrug resistance; increased susceptibility to to have decreased response to HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor therapy; increased susceptibility for developing a disorder due to decreased hepatic or cellular uptake of taurocholate, estrone sulfate, estradiol 1 7-D-glucuronide, leukotriene C4, prostaglandin E2, or thyroid hormone.
16.) A kit for identifying an individual at risk of developing a phenotype, said kit comprising
i.) sequencing primers, and
ii.) sequencing reagents,
wherein said primers are primers that hybridize to at least one polymorphic position in a human gene selected from the group consisting of human OATP2 protein, and human cMOAT protein.
17.) The kit according to claim 16 wherein said polymorphic positions are selected from a group consisting of the polymorphic positions provided in Table IV, or V.
18.) The kit according to claim 17 wherein the sequence at said at least one polymorphic position is depicted in a nucleic acid sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO: 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 29, 31, 33, 35, 37, 39, 41, 43, 45, 47, 49, 603, 51 to 326, or complement thereof.
19.) The kit according to claim 17 wherein the wherein the phenotype is selected from the group consisting of: low hepatic statin uptake, decreased statin response; increased risk of developing drug interactions upon administration of at least one statin; increased susceptibility for developing a cardiovascular disorder; increased susceptibility for developing high cholesterol levels, metabolic dieases, inflammatory diseases, hypertension, and congestive heart failure; increased susceptibility for having low efficious response to pravastatin therapy; increased susceptibility for having decreased ability to transport compounds by organic anion transporters; increased susceptibility for having decreased ability to transport compounds by organic anion transporters in the liver; increased susceptibility for developing liver disease; increased susceptibility for developing a disease associated with low levels of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol; increased susceptibility to develop multidrug resistance; increased susceptibility to to have decreased response to HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor therapy; increased susceptibility for developing a disorder due to decreased hepatic or cellular uptake of taurocholate, estrone sulfate, estradiol 17-D-glucuronide, leukotriene C4, prostaglandin E2, or thyroid hormone.

1. A system for managing an email client comprising:
a network interface for electrical communication with at least one service provider email server;
a hardware processor in electrical communication with said network interface;
a user interface;
an identification module in electrical communication with said network interface and said hardware processor, configured to identify content emails by analyzing email traffic in a first email address established on a first service provider email server, and to classify senders of said content emails as content providers;
a content email management module in electrical communication with said network interface, said hardware processor, said user interface and said identification module, configured to obtain said identified content emails; and
a grouping module in electrical communication with said hardware processor, said user interface and said content email management module configured to group a plurality of obtained content emails received from a single content provider for display as a respective single content item.
2. The system for managing an email client according to claim 1, wherein said identification module is further configured to identify content emails by analyzing email traffic in a second email address established on a second service provider email server, and to classify senders of said content emails as content providers.
3. The system for managing an email client according to claim 1, wherein said content email management module is configured to receive content emails over a bypass channel, wherein said bypass channel comprises at least one of: forwarding via a bypass server and a direct channel established between a content provider and said email client.
4. The system for managing an email client according to claim 3, further comprising a bypass email handling module configured to implant a content email received over said bypass channel into an email account.
5. The system for managing an email client according to claim 4, wherein bypass email handling module is configured to perform at least one of the following;
provide a content provider with a bypass email address for sending content emails to an email client via said bypass server;
auto-forward an email, received from said content provider via said bypass channel, to said first email address, wherein a reply field of said auto-forwarded email is set to an address of said content provider;
auto-forward an email, received from said content provider via said bypass channel, to said first email address, wherein a reply field of said auto-forwarded email is set to said first email address;
insert an email, received from said content provider via said bypass channel, into a specified folder of an email client;
insert an email, received from said content provider via said bypass channel, synchronously into a specified email folder of said email client and a respective folder of said first email address established on said first service provider email server.
6. The system for managing an email client according to claim 1, wherein said obtaining comprises receiving emails from said identified content provider at said first email address; wherein said content email management module is further configured to insert said received email into a specified email folder of an email client.
7. The system for managing an email client according to claim 1, wherein said single content item further comprises at least one of:
i) said respective content provider; and
ii) a number of emails grouped in said content item.
8. The system for managing an email client according to claim 1, wherein said grouping module is further configured to ungroup said single content item for display as separate emails from said respective content provider, in accordance with input from said user interface.
9. The system for managing an email client according to claim 1, wherein said identification module is further configured to identify email conversations by analyzing email traffic and said grouping module is further configured to group emails participating in said email conversation for display as a single conversation item.
10. The system for managing an email client according to claim 9, wherein said grouping module is further configured to ungroup said single conversation item for display as separate emails participating in said conversation, in accordance with input from said user interface.
11. The system for managing an email client according to claim 1, wherein said identification module is further configured to identify at least one of:
stand-alone emails for display as ungrouped emails; and
content email in accordance with at least one of:
i) a number of emails from a sender which participate in email conversations;
ii) a proportion of emails from said sender which participate in email conversations;
iii) a number of emails from said sender which are responded to; and
iv) a number conversations with said sender.
12. The system for managing an email client according to claim 1, wherein said identification module is configured to include each received email in a single item, wherein said item is one of: a conversation item, a content item and a stand-alone item.
13. A method for grouping emails for display, comprising:
using at least one processor to perform the following:
identifying content emails by analyzing email traffic on a first email address established on a first service provider email server and classifying respective senders of said content emails as content providers;
obtaining said identified content emails; and
grouping a plurality of obtained content emails from a content provider for display as a respective single content item.
14. A method according to claim 13, in which said at least one processor is used to perform the following: identifying content emails by analyzing email traffic on a second email address and classifying respective senders of said content emails as content providers.
15. A method according to claim 13, in which said at least one processor is used to perform the following: receiving content emails over a bypass channel with a content provider, wherein said bypass channel comprises at least one of: forwarding via a bypass server and a direct channel established between a content provider and an email client.
16. A method according to claim 15, in which said at least one processor is used to perform the following: establishing a bypass email address on said bypass server, providing said content provider with said bypass email address and instructing said content provider to send said content emails via said bypass email address.
17. A method according to claim 16, wherein said providing said content provider with said bypass email address comprises instructing said bypass server to provide said bypass email address to said content provider.
18. A method according to claim 16, in which said at least one processor is used to perform the following: processing an email received via said bypass channel by one of:
i) auto-forwarding said email received via said bypass channel to said first email address, wherein a reply field of an auto-forwarded email is set to said first email address;
ii) auto-forwarding said email received via said bypass channel to said first email address, wherein a reply field of said auto-forwarded email is set to an address of said content provider;
iii) inserting said email received via said bypass channel into a specified email folder; and
iv) inserting said email received via said bypass channel synchronously into a specified email folder and a respective folder of said first email address established on said first service provider email server.
19. A method according to claim 16, in which said at least one processor is used to perform the following: receiving an email via said bypass channel and deriving said first email address from said bypass email address.
20. An email client comprising:
a network interface for electrical communication with at least one service provider email server;
a hardware processor in electrical communication with said network interface;
a user interface;
a content email management module in electrical communication with said network interface, said hardware processor, and said user interface, configured to obtain emails over a bypass channel; and
a bypass email handling module configured to implant a content email received over said bypass channel into an email account established on a service provider email server.
