1. A disposable absorbent article having a pair of longitudinally extending side edges and a pair of end edges extending between said side edges, said article comprising:
a topsheet layer;
a backsheet layer;
an absorbent core disposed between said topsheet and said backsheet;
a pair of side walls, each of said side walls having a pair of oppositely positioned end portions and an intermediate portion disposed therebetween, wherein a first side wall is positioned generally between said core and one of said side edges and extends generally in the longitudinal direction, and said other side wall is positioned generally between said core and said other side edge and extends generally in the longitudinal direction; and
a pair of end strips, each of said end strips being fixed generally intermediate said core and one of said end edges, and extending between said side edges, each of said end strips including an elastic inward section spaced away from said topsheet and said absorbent core, each inward section having a pair of side portions, each side portion being secured to an end portion of one of said side walls, such that said side walls are biased generally upwardly.
2. The disposable absorbent article of claim 1, further comprising a containment pocket bounded by a substantially continuous containment wall disposed about said core, said side walls and said elastic inward sections being disposed to form, at least partially, said containment wall.
3. The disposable absorbent article of claim 2, wherein an intermediate portion of each of said side edges extending generally parallel with said core is disposed in engagement with said side portions of said elastic inward sections so as to be biased upwardly to form, at least partially, one of said sidewalls.
4. The disposable absorbent article of claim 2, wherein said side walls is formed by a portion of said topsheet and at least one elastic member secured thereto.
5. The disposable absorbent article of claim 2, wherein said pocket has a depth dimension defined as an average vertical distance between an inward edge of said inward section and an average elevation of said core, said depth dimension being greater than about \xbd\u2033.
6. The disposable absorbent article of claim 5, wherein said depth dimension is between about \xbe\u2033 and about 2\u2033.
7. The disposable absorbent article of claim 1, wherein said article defines a front waist region adjacent one of said end edges, a back waist region adjacent said other end edge, and a crotch region located between said front waist region and said back waist region, said core being disposed in said crotch region, said article further comprising an ear region extending laterally from each side of each of said front waist region and said back waist region, each one of said end strips extending substantially laterally into one of said ear regions.
8. A disposable absorbent article having a pair of longitudinally extending side edges and a pair of end edges defining a front waist region, a back waist region, and a crotch region located between said front and back waist regions, said article comprising:
a topsheet layer;
a backsheet layer;
an absorbent core disposed between said topsheet and said backsheet; and
a containment pocket having a depth dimension, said pocket being disposed generally in said crotch region and bounded by a substantially continuous containment wall that extends generally upwardly from said topsheet to retain exudates therein, said containment wall having at least two elastic wall sections and at least two intermediate wall sections, each intermediate wall section being disposed between one elastic wall section and another elastic wall section; and
wherein each of said elastic wall sections has a central portion and oppositely disposed side portions and each of said intermediate wall sections has oppositely disposed end portions, each of said side portions of said elastic wall sections being secured to an end portion of one of said intermediate wall sections such that said intermediate wall sections are biased generally upwardly.
9. The disposable absorbent article of claim 8, further comprising an end strip secured generally to each one of said waist regions, said end strip including an elastic inward section spaced away from said topsheet and said absorbent core, said elastic inward sections forming said elastic wall sections of said containment wall.
10. The disposable article of claim 9, wherein each of said end strips is formed from an elastic material.
11. The disposable absorbent article of claim 9, wherein each of said end strips includes a fixed end section fixed substantially adjacent one of said end edges.
12. The disposable absorbent article of claim 8, wherein an intermediate portion of each of said side edges extending generally parallel with said core is disposed in engagement with said side portions of said elastic wall sections so as to be biased upwardly to form, at least partially, one of said intermediate wall sections.
13. The disposable absorbent article of claim 8, wherein said intermediate wall section is formed by a portion of said topsheet and at least one elastic member secured thereto.
14. The disposable absorbent article of claim 8, wherein said pocket has a depth dimension defined as an average vertical distance between an inward edge of said inward section and an average elevation of a top surface of said core, said depth dimension being greater than about \xbd\u2033.
15. The disposable absorbent article of claim 8, wherein said depth dimension is between about \xbd\u2033 and about 4\u2033.
16. The disposable absorbent article of claim 8, wherein said depth dimension is between about \xbe\u2033 and about 2\u2033.
17. The disposable absorbent article of claim 8, wherein said elastic wall sections are formed from a substantially elastic material.
18. The disposable absorbent article of claim 17, wherein said elastic wall section is distinct from said topsheet.
19. The disposable absorbent article of claim 8, wherein each of said elastic wall sections is formed, at least partially, by a portion of said topsheet.
20. A disposable absorbent article having a pair of longitudinally extending side edges and a pair of end edges extending between said side edges, said article comprising:
a topsheet layer;
a backsheet layer;
an absorbent core disposed between said topsheet and said backsheet; positioned end portions and an intermediate portion disposed therebetween, wherein a first side wall is positioned generally between said core and one of said side edges and extends generally in the longitudinal direction, and said other side wall is positioned generally between said core and said other side edge and extends generally in the longitudinal direction; and
a pair of elastic end walls, each elastic end wall extending from one of said side walls to said other side wall and being secured to an end portion of each of said side walls to bias said side walls generally upwardly.
21. The disposable absorbent article of claim 20, further comprising a containment pocket bounded by a continuous containment wall disposed about said core, disposed to form said containment wall being formed by said side walls and said elastic end walls.
22. The disposable absorbent article of claim 21, wherein said side walls is formed by a portion of said topsheet and at least one elastic member secured thereto.
23. The disposable absorbent article of claim 21, wherein said pocket has a depth dimension defined as an average vertical distance between an inward edge of said inward section and an average elevation of said core, said depth dimension being greater than about \xbd\u2033.
24. The disposable absorbent article of claim 23, wherein said depth dimension is between about \xbe\u2033 and about 2\u2033.
25. The disposable absorbent article of claim 21, wherein an intermediate portion of each of said side edges is disposed in engagement with each of said elastic end walls so as to be biased upwardly to form, at least partially, one of said side walls.
26. The disposable absorbent article of claim 25, wherein said side wall is formed by a portion of said topsheet and at least one elastic member secured thereto.
27. The disposable absorbent article of claim 20, wherein said elastic end wall is formed from a substantially elastic material.

1. A method of manufacturing a thin film transistor array panel, the method comprising:
forming a gate line on a substrate;
depositing a gate insulating layer and a semiconductor layer in sequence on the gate line;
depositing a first conductive layer on the semiconductor layer;
photo-etching the first conductive layer and the semiconductor layer;
depositing a passivation layer;
photo-etching the passivation layer to expose first and second portions of the first conductive layer;
depositing a second conductive layer; and
etching the second and the first conductive layers to form a pixel electrode on the first portion of the first conductive layer and to remove the second portion of the first conductive layer.
2. The method of claim 1, wherein the etch of the second and the first conductive layers comprises wet etch with an etchant.
3. The method of claim 2, wherein the first conductive layer comprises Cr.
4. The method of claim 3, wherein the second conductive layer comprises IZO.
5. The method of claim 2, wherein the first conductive layer comprises Al or Mo.
6. The method of claim 5, wherein the first conductive layer comprises a first film of Mo or Mo alloy and a second film of Al or Al alloy.
7. The method of claim 5, wherein the first conductive layer comprises a lower film of Mo or Mo alloy, an intermediate film of Al or Al alloy, and an upper film of Mo or Mo alloy.
8. The method of claim 5, wherein the second conductive layer comprises ITO.
9. The method of claim 1, wherein the photo-etching of the passivation layer exposes a third portion of the first conductive layer.
10. The method of claim 9, wherein the etch of the second and the first conductive layers forms a contact assistant on the third portion of the first conductive layer.
11. The method of claim 1, wherein the photo-etching of the passivation layer etches the gate insulating layer to expose a portion of the gate line.
12. The method of claim 11, wherein the etch of the second and the first conductive layers forms a contact assistant on the exposed portion of the gate line.
13. The method of claim 1, wherein the gate line comprises a lower film and an upper film.
14. The method of claim 13, wherein the photo-etching of the passivation layer etches the gate insulating layer to expose a portion of the upper film of the gate line.
15. The method of claim 14, further comprising:
removing the exposed portion of the upper film of the gate line.
16. The method of claim 1, wherein the etch of the second and the first conductive layers exposes a portion of the semiconductor layer and
the method further comprises:
forming a columnar spacer covering the exposed portion of the semiconductor layer.
17. The method of claim 16, wherein the spacer comprises organic or inorganic material.
18. The method of claim 1, wherein the semiconductor layer comprises an intrinsic film and an extrinsic film, and
the method further comprises:
removing the exposed portion of the extrinsic film after removing the second portion of the first conductive layer.
19. A thin film transistor array panel comprising:
a substrate;
a gate line formed on the substrate and including a gate electrode;
a gate insulating layer formed on the gate line;
a semiconductor layer formed on the gate insulating layer;
a plurality of ohmic contacts formed on the semiconductor layer;
source and drain electrodes formed on the ohmic contacts;
a passivation layer formed on the source and the drain electrodes and having a first contact hole exposing a portion of the drain electrode and a portion of the gate insulating layer adjacent thereto and an opening exposing a first portion of the semiconductor layer and having edges that coincide with edges of the source and the drain electrodes; and
a pixel electrode formed on the passivation layer and contacting the drain electrode through the first contact hole.
20. The thin film transistor array panel of claim 19, wherein the opening has edges that coincide with edges of the ohmic contacts.
21. The thin film transistor array panel of claim 19, wherein the source and drain electrodes comprise Cr.
22. The thin film transistor array panel of claim 21, wherein the pixel electrode comprises IZO.
23. The thin film transistor array panel of claim 19, wherein the source and drain electrodes comprise Al or Mo.
24. The thin film transistor array panel of claim 19, wherein the source and drain electrodes comprise a lower film of Mo or Mo alloy, an intermediate film of Al or Al alloy, and an upper film of Mo or Mo alloy.
25. The thin film transistor array panel of claim 23, wherein the pixel electrode comprises ITO.
26. The thin film transistor array panel of claim 19, wherein the gate line comprises a lower film and an upper film, the lower film of the gate line has a first portion exposed out of the upper film of the gate line, and the passivation layer further has a second contact hole exposing the first portion of the lower film of the gate line.
27. The thin film transistor array panel of claim 26, further comprising a contact assistant disposed on the first portion of the lower film of the gate line.
