1. A method, comprising:
receiving at a first device from a second device, via a first protocol, metadata corresponding to one or more objects of one or more selected objects, wherein the selected objects are one or more objects requiring synchronization, and wherein the selected objects are selected by the second device; and
coming to possess at the first device from the second device, via a second protocol, binary data corresponding to the one or more objects of the selected objects,
wherein the first protocol is a synchronization protocol and the second protocol is a file transfer protocol.
2. The method of claim 1, wherein the synchronization protocol is syncml.
3. The method of claim 1, wherein the file transfer protocol is object exchange file transfer profile protocol.
4. The method of claim 1, wherein one or more of the selected objects are indicated to be favorites via metadata.
5. The method of claim 1, wherein one or more of the selected objects have corresponding metadata indicating creation subsequent to a last synchronization.
6. The method of claim 1, wherein one or more of the selected objects have corresponding metadata indicating change subsequent to a last synchronization.
7. The method of claim 1, further comprising performing, at the first device, one or more update operations.
8. The method of claim 1, wherein the second device performs one or more reciprocal operations.
9. The method of claim 1, wherein the first device is a personal computer.
10. The method of claim 1, wherein the second device is a wireless node.
11. A method, comprising:
selecting, at a first device, one or more objects requiring synchronization;
communicating from the first device to a second device, via a first protocol, metadata corresponding to one or more of the selected objects; and
communicating from the first device to the second device, via a second protocol, binary data corresponding to the one or more of the selected objects,
wherein the first protocol is a synchronization protocol and the second protocol is a file transfer protocol.
12. The method of claim 11, wherein the synchronization protocol is syncml.
13. The method of claim 11, wherein the file transfer protocol is object exchange file transfer profile protocol.
14. The method of claim 11, wherein one or more of the selected objects are indicated to be favorites via metadata.
15. The method of claim 11, wherein one or more of the selected objects have corresponding metadata indicating creation subsequent to a last synchronization.
16. The method of claim 11, wherein one or more of the selected objects have corresponding metadata indicating change subsequent to a last synchronization.
17. The method of claim 11, wherein the second device performs one or more update operations.
18. The method of claim 11, further comprising performing, at the first device, one or more reciprocal operations.
19. The method of claim 11, wherein the first device is a wireless node.
20. The method of claim 11, wherein the second device is a personal computer.
21. A system, comprising:
a memory having program code stored therein; and
a processor disposed in communication with the memory for carrying out instructions in accordance with the stored program code;
wherein the program code, when executed by the processor, causes the processor to perform:
receiving at a first device from a second device, via a first protocol, metadata corresponding to one or more objects of one or more selected objects, wherein the selected objects are one or more objects requiring synchronization, and wherein the selected objects are selected by the second device; and
coming to possess at the first device from the second device, via a second protocol, binary data corresponding to the one or more objects of the selected objects,
wherein the first protocol is a synchronization protocol and the second protocol is a file transfer protocol.
22. The system of claim 21, wherein the synchronization protocol is syncml.
23. The system of claim 21, wherein the file transfer protocol is object exchange file transfer profile protocol.
24. The system of claim 21, wherein one or more of the selected objects are indicated to be favorites via metadata.

communicating from the first device to a second device, via a first protocol, metadata corresponding to one or more of the selected objects; and
communicating from the first device to the second device, via a second protocol, binary data corresponding to the one or more of the selected objects,
wherein the first protocol is a synchronization protocol and the second protocol is a file transfer protocol.

receiving from a second device, via a first protocol, metadata corresponding to one or more objects of one or more selected objects, wherein the selected objects are one or more objects requiring synchronization, and wherein the selected objects are selected by the second device; and
coming to possess from the second device, via a second protocol, binary data corresponding to the one or more objects of the selected objects,
wherein the first protocol is a synchronization protocol and the second protocol is a file transfer protocol.
42. A device, comprising:
a memory having program code stored therein;
a processor disposed in communication with the memory for carrying out instructions in accordance with the stored program code; and
a network interface disposed in communication with the processor;
wherein the program code, when executed by the processor, causes the processor to perform:
selecting one or more objects requiring synchronization;
communicating to a second device, via a first protocol, metadata corresponding to one or more of the selected objects; and
communicating to the second device, via a second protocol, binary data corresponding to the one or more of the selected objects,
wherein the first protocol is a synchronization protocol and the second protocol is a file transfer protocol.
43. An article of manufacture comprising a computer readable medium containing program code that when executed causes a device to perform:
receiving from a second device, via a first protocol, metadata corresponding to one or more objects of one or more selected objects, wherein the selected objects are one or more objects requiring synchronization, and wherein the selected objects are selected by the second device; and
coming to possess from the second device, via a second protocol, binary data corresponding to the one or more objects of the selected objects,
wherein the first protocol is a synchronization protocol and the second protocol is a file transfer protocol.
44. An article of manufacture comprising a computer readable medium containing program code that when executed causes a device to perform:
selecting one or more objects requiring synchronization;
communicating to a second device, via a first protocol, metadata corresponding to one or more of the selected objects; and
communicating to the second device, via a second protocol, binary data corresponding to the one or more of the selected objects,
wherein the first protocol is a synchronization protocol and the second protocol is a file transfer protocol.

1. A control device for a hydraulic automatic transmission for a vehicle, comprising:
start control means for supplying a hydraulic pressure to a first hydraulic engaging element for a low-speed position and a second hydraulic engaging element for a high-speed position in performing in-gear control by a select operation from a nonforward range to a forward range, thereby first setting a shift position to the high-speed position and next switching the high-speed position to the low-speed position;
temperature detecting means for detecting the temperature of a power train; and
high-speed position setting operation inhibiting means for inhibiting a high-speed position setting operation by said start control means in case that the temperature detected by said temperature detecting means is greater than or equal to a predetermined value.
2. A control device for a hydraulic automatic transmission for a vehicle, comprising:
start control means for supplying a hydraulic pressure to a first hydraulic engaging element for a low-speed position and a second hydraulic engaging element for a high-speed position in performing in-gear control by a select operation from a nonforward range to a forward range, thereby first setting a shift position to the high-speed position and next switching the high-speed position to the low-speed position;
temperature detecting means for detecting the temperature of a power train;
hydraulic pressure detecting means for detecting a hydraulic pressure to be supplied to said second hydraulic engaging element; and
high-speed position setting operation inhibiting means for inhibiting a high-speed position setting operation by said start control means in case that the temperature detected by said temperature detecting means is greater than or equal to a predetermined value and that the hydraulic pressure detected by said hydraulic pressure detecting means is less than a predetermined value in a given period of time.
3. A control device for a hydraulic automatic transmission for a vehicle, comprising:
start control means for supplying a hydraulic pressure to a first hydraulic engaging element for a low-speed position and a second hydraulic engaging element for a high-speed position in performing in-gear control by a select operation from a nonforward range to a forward range, thereby first setting a shift position to the high-speed position and next switching the high-speed position to the low-speed position;
temperature detecting means for detecting the temperature of a power train;
vehicle speed detecting means for detecting a vehicle speed;
rotational speed detecting means for detecting the rotational speed of an input shaft of said transmission; and
high-speed position setting operation inhibiting means for inhibiting a high-speed position setting operation by said start control means in case that the temperature detected by said temperature detecting means is greater than or equal to a predetermined value, that the vehicle speed detected by said vehicle speed detecting means is less than or equal to a predetermined value, and that the rotational speed detected by said rotational speed detecting means is greater than a predetermined value.
4. A control device for a hydraulic automatic transmission for a vehicle, comprising:
start control means for supplying a hydraulic pressure to a first hydraulic engaging element for a low-speed position and a second hydraulic engaging element for a high-speed position in performing in-gear control by a select operation from a nonforward range to a forward range, thereby first setting a shift position to the high-speed position and next switching the high-speed position to the low-speed position;
temperature detecting means for detecting the temperature of a power train;
hydraulic pressure detecting means for detecting a hydraulic pressure to be supplied to said second hydraulic engaging element;
vehicle speed detecting means for detecting a vehicle speed;
rotational speed detecting means for detecting the rotational speed of an input shaft of said transmission; and
high-speed position setting operation inhibiting means for inhibiting a high-speed position setting operation by said start control means in case that the temperature detected by said temperature detecting means is greater than or equal to a predetermined value, that the hydraulic pressure detected by said hydraulic pressure detecting means is less than a predetermined value in a given period of time, that the vehicle speed detected by said vehicle speed detecting means is less than or equal to a predetermined value, and that the rotational speed detected by said rotational speed detecting means is greater than a predetermined value.
5. A control device for a hydraulic automatic transmission for a vehicle, comprising:
start control means for supplying a hydraulic pressure to a first hydraulic engaging element for a low-speed position and a second hydraulic engaging element for a high-speed position in performing in-gear control by a select operation from a nonforward range to a forward range, thereby first setting a shift position to the high-speed position and next switching the high-speed position to the low-speed position;
temperature detecting means for detecting the temperature of said second hydraulic engaging element; and
high-speed position setting operation inhibiting means for inhibiting a high-speed position setting operation by said start control means in case that the temperature detected by said temperature detecting means is greater than a predetermined value.
6. A control device for a hydraulic automatic transmission for a vehicle, comprising:
start control means for supplying a hydraulic pressure to a first hydraulic engaging element for a low-speed position and a second hydraulic engaging element for a high-speed position in performing in-gear control by a select operation from a nonforward range to a forward range, thereby first setting a shift position to the high-speed position and next switching the high-speed position to the low-speed position;
operation frequency detecting means for detecting the frequency of operations of said second hydraulic engaging element; and
high-speed position setting operation inhibiting means for inhibiting a high-speed position setting operation by said start control means in case that the frequency of operations detected by said frequency operation detecting means is greater than a predetermined value.
7. The control device according to claim 6, wherein said operation frequency detecting means detects the number of operations of said second hydraulic engaging element per given time.
8. The control device according to claim 6, wherein said operation frequency detecting means detects the time of operations of said second hydraulic engaging element per given time.
