22. A process of preparing a non-staining composition,
wherein said composition has a pH between 1.5 and 7.0 and contains 0.01 to 2.4% turmeric (wv),
said process comprising mixing a turmeric extract with a berry extract in a ratio from 1:1 parts to 1:40 parts (vv),
wherein said turmeric extract is made by:
A) exposing turmeric to a solvent, until said solvent contains between 0.05 to 10 g turmeric per 100 ml solvent, wherein said solvent is comprised of water, an organic solvent, or a mixture thereof;
B) separating turmeric residues from the turmeric in solvent, leaving a turmeric extract,
wherein said berry extract is made by:
i) selecting a berry having a blue, purple, red or black color;
ii) optionally drying said berry and reconstituting the dried berry with water to produce a berry liquid and berry residue,
iii) optionally freezing said berry,
iv) breaking said berry with any of the following means: crushing, grinding, mashing, stirring, shaking, andor mixing the berry either manually or mechanically to produce a berry liquid and berry residue,
v) mixing said berry liquid and said berry residue with an acid to form a mix of said berry liquid and said berry residue and adjusting the pH of said mix until it has a pH between about 2.0 and about 5.0;
vi) separating said berry residues from said berry liquid, leaving a berry extract.
23. A process of claim 22, wherein said composition contains between about 0.05%-2.0% turmeric.
24. A process of claim 22, wherein said composition contains about 0.05% turmeric and wherein said process comprising mixing a turmeric extract with a berry extract in a ratio from 1:1 parts to 1:20 parts (vv).
25. A process of claim 22, wherein said composition contains about 0.10% turmeric.
26. A process of claim 23, wherein said composition contains about 0.10% turmeric, said process comprising mixing a turmeric extract with a berry extract in a ratio from 1:1 parts to 1:20 parts (vv).
27. A process of claim 22, wherein said composition has a pH between about 5.0 and about 6.0.
28. A process of claim 23, wherein said composition has a pH between about 5.0 and about 6.0.
29. A process of claim 22, wherein said berry is blue, purple or black.
30. A process of claim 26, wherein said berry is a blueberry.
31. A process of claim 26, wherein said berry is a grape.
32. A process of claim 22, wherein said turmeric extract to said berry extract is in a ratio from about 1 part turmeric extract to about 3 parts berry extract.
33. A process of claim 22, wherein said turmeric extract to said berry extract is in a ratio from about 1 part turmeric extract to about 5 parts berry extract.
34. A non-staining composition having a pH between 1.5 and 7.0 and containing 0.01% to 2.4% turmeric (wv),
wherein said composition is made by mixing a turmeric extract with a berry extract in a ratio from 1:1 parts to 1:40 parts (vv),
wherein said turmeric extract is made by:
A) exposing turmeric to a solvent, until said solvent contains between 0.05 to 10 g turmeric per 100 ml solvent, wherein said solvent is comprised of water, an organic solvent, or a mixture thereof;
B) separating turmeric residues from the turmeric in solvent, leaving a turmeric extract;
wherein said berry extract is made by:
i) selecting a berry that has a blue, purple, red or black color;
ii) crushing, grinding, mashing, stirring, shaking, andor mixing either manually or mechanically andor first drying the berry and then reconstituting the dried berry with water to produce a mixture comprised of berry liquid and berry residue,
iii) adding acid to said mixture such that said mixture has a pH between about 2.0 and 5.0; and
iv) separating and removing said berry residues from said mixture, thereby producing said berry extract.
35. A composition of claim 34, wherein said composition has a pH between 4.0 and 6.0.
36. A composition of claim 35, wherein said composition contains about 0.05% to 2.0% turmeric.
37. A composition of claim 36, wherein said composition contains about 0.05% turmeric.
38. A composition of claim 36, wherein said composition contains about 0.10% turmeric.
39. A composition of claim 34, wherein said pH of the composition is about 5.5.
40. A composition of claim 35, wherein said pH of the composition is about 5.5.
41. A composition of claim 36, wherein said berry is blue, purple or black.
42. A composition of claim 41, wherein said berry is a blueberry.
43. A composition of claim 41, wherein said berry is a grape.
44. A composition of claim 36, wherein the ratio of said turmeric extract to said berry extract is in a ratio from about 1 part turmeric extract to about 3 parts berry extract.
45. A composition of claim 36, wherein the ratio of said turmeric extract to said berry extract is in a ratio from about 1 part turmeric extract to about 5 parts berry extract.
46. A method of treating or preventing a disease by the topical administration of a composition of claim 34 in therapeutic amounts to the skin of a patient in need thereof, wherein said disease is a disease selected from the following diseases; either individually or in any combination: inflammation of the skin; infection of the skin; a skin wound; a skin burn; a skin burn caused by the sun, or sunburn; psoriasis; skin cancer; aging of the skin; osteoporosis; or the prevention of any of the following diseases: a sun burn; sepsis; infection; and any disease caused by oxidants.
47. A method of claim 46 wherein said disease is inflammation of the skin.
48. A method of claim 47 wherein said inflammation is caused by a burn.
49. A method of claim 48 wherein said burn is a sunburn.
50. A method of claim 46 wherein said disease is a skin infection.
51. A method of claim 46 comprising preventing and or treating sunburns, or aging of the skin.
52. A skin care product having between 0.01% and 2.4% turmeric extract, wherein said skin care product is made with turmeric extract that has been neutralized by the process of mixing said turmeric extract with a berry extract, wherein said berry extract is made by the following processes either individually or in any combination:
A) crushing, grinding, mashing, stirring, shaking, andor mixing either manually or mechanically andor first drying the berry and then reconstituting the dried berry with water to produce a berry liquid and berry residue, followed by the addition of an acid to form a mixture of berry residues and a berry liquid, wherein said mixture has a pH between 2.0 and 5.0;
B) separating the berry residues from the liquid, leaving a berry extract.
53. A skin care product made by the process of claim 50 and having between 0.05% and 2.0% turmeric.
54. A skin care product made by the process of claim 50 having a concentration of turmeric selected from any of the following percentages of turmeric, about 0.01, 0.05%, 0.15%, 0.2%, 0.3%, 0.4%, 0.5%, 0.6%, 0.7%, 0.8%, 0.9% or 1.0% turmeric.
55. A skin care product made by the process of claim 50 having about, 0.01%, 0.05%, 0.15%, 0.2%, 0.3%, 0.4%, 0.5% turmeric.
56. A final skin care product comprising:
a berry extract and a turmeric extract wherein said berry extract and said turmeric extracts are in a ratio of from about 1:1 to about 1:40 (turmeric:berry);
wherein said berry extract contains water, is made from a berry that is darkly colored and has a blue, purple, red or black color and where said berry is mixed or ground to produce said berry extract, with said berry extract comprising from 1 to 40% of said final skin care product;
wherein said turmeric extract is made from whole or powdered turmeric extracted with solvent and used to make said final skin care product having a concentration from 0.01% to 3% turmeric in said final skin care product;
wherein said final skin care product contains acid such that said final skin care product has a pH between 1.5 and 7.0;
wherein said berry extract, turmeric extract, and acid, are mixed together to produce said final skin care product.
57. A final skin care product of claim 56 in the form of a lotion, cream, ointment or spray.
58. A final skin care product of claim 56 with a pH between about 4.0 to 6.5.
59. A final skin care product of claim 56 wherein said berry is a blueberry.
60. A final skin care product of claim 56 wherein said berry is a grape.

1. An electrical stimulation lead, comprising:
a paddle body comprising a non-conductive, biocompatible material;
at least one lead body having a distal end, a proximal end, and a longitudinal length, the distal end of each of the at least one lead bodies coupled to the paddle body;
a plurality of electrically conductive fixation elements embedded within the paddle body so that the non-conductive material of the paddle body surrounds and is in contact with a plurality of surfaces of each of the fixation elements;
a plurality of electrodes disposed on the paddle body, each electrode comprising a stimulating element with an exposed stimulation surface and a piercing element extending from the stimulating element into the paddle body and making contact with at least one of the plurality of fixation elements, wherein the piercing element comprises a post that engages the at least one of the fixation elements to physically and electrically couple the post to the at least one of the fixation elements;
a plurality of terminals disposed along the proximal ends of each of the at least one lead bodies; and
a plurality of conductor wires, each conductor wire of the plurality of conductor wires electrically coupling each of the plurality of terminals to at least one of the plurality of electrodes.
2. The electrical stimulation lead of claim 1, wherein each of the plurality of electrodes comprises a first locking arrangement and each of the plurality of fixation elements comprises a second locking arrangement and wherein the first and second locking arrangements are configured and arranged, when engaged with each other, to lock a one of the electrodes to a one of the fixation elements.
3. The electrical stimulation lead of claim 2, wherein a one of the first and second locking arrangements comprises a ridge and another one of the first and second locking arrangements comprises a detent configured and arranged to receive the ridge.
4. The electrical stimulation lead of claim 2, wherein a one of the first and second locking arrangements comprises a threading and another one of the first and second locking arrangements comprises a groove configured and arranged to receive the threading.
5. The electrical stimulation lead of claim 2, wherein a one of the first and second locking arrangements comprises a ball and another one of the first and second locking arrangements comprises a socket configured and arranged to receive the ball.
6. The electrical stimulation lead of claim 2, wherein a one of the first and second locking arrangements comprises a cantilever and another one of the first and second locking arrangements comprises a recess configured and arranged to receive the cantilever and hold the cantilever in place.
7. The electrical stimulation lead of claim 1, wherein each of the plurality of electrodes comprises a first fitting arrangement and each of the plurality of fixation elements comprises a second fitting arrangement and wherein the first and second fitting arrangements are configured and arranged, when engaged with each other, to form a friction fit between a one of the electrodes to a one of the fixation elements to facilitate maintaining contact therebetween.
8. The electrical stimulation lead of claim 1, wherein the piercing element comprises a sharpened distal tip.
9. The electrical stimulation lead of claim 1, wherein each of the conductor wires is physically attached to at least one of the plurality of fixation elements.
10. The electrical stimulation lead of claim 1 wherein the piercing element of each electrode extends into and entirely through at least one of the fixation elements.
11. A method of making the electrical stimulation lead of claim 1, the method comprising:
coupling at least one of the plurality of conductive wires to each of the plurality of fixation elements;
forming the paddle body around the plurality of fixation elements; and
pressing the piercing element of each of the plurality of electrodes into the paddle body and into electrical contact with at least one of the plurality of fixation elements.
12. A method of making the electrical stimulation lead of claim 1, the method comprising:
pressing the piercing element of each of the plurality of electrodes through a first portion of the paddle body, the first portion of the paddle body having a front surface and a back surface with the stimulation element of each of the electrodes disposed on the front surface;
attaching at least one of the plurality of fixation elements to each of the plurality of electrodes with the fixation elements disposed on the back surface of the first portion of the paddle body;
coupling at least one of the plurality of conductive wires to each of the plurality of fixation elements or electrodes; and
forming a second portion of the paddle body around the plurality of ixation elements and at least partially beneath the first portion of the paddle body.
13. The electrical stimulation lead of claim 1, each of the conductor wires is physically and electrically attached to at least one of the plurality of fixation elements.
14. The electrical stimulation lead of claim 1, each of the fixation elements is electrically coupled to at least one of the conductor wires.
15. The electrical stimulation lead of claim 1, wherein each of the fixation elements is surrounded by the lead body.
16. The electrical stimulation lead of claim 1, wherein each of the electrodes makes contact with a different one of the plurality of fixation elements.
17. The electrical stimulation lead of claim 1, each conductor wire of the plurality of conductor wires electrically coupling each of the plurality of terminals to at least one of the plurality of electrodes via a one of the plurality of fixation elements.
18. The electrical stimulation lead of claim 1, wherein the paddle body comprises a first portion and a second portion disposed on the first portion, wherein each of the fixation elements is disposed between the first and second portions of the paddle body.
19. The electrical stimulation lead of claim 18, wherein the piercing element of each of the electrodes extends through the first portion of the paddle body to make contact with a one of the fixation elements.
20. An electrical stimulation lead, comprising:
a paddle body;
at least one lead body having a distal end, a proximal end, and a longitudinal length, the distal end of each of the at least one lead bodies coupled to the paddle body;
a plurality of fixation elements disposed entirely within the paddle body;
a plurality of electrodes disposed on the paddle body, each electrode comprising a stimulating element with an exposed stimulation surface and a piercing element extending from the stimulating element into the paddle body and making contact with at least one of the plurality of fixation elements;
a plurality of terminals disposed along the proximal ends of each of the at least one lead bodies; and
a plurality of conductor wires, each conductor wire of the plurality of conductor wires electrically coupling each of the plurality of terminals to at least one of the plurality of electrodes,
wherein each of the plurality of electrodes comprises a first locking arrangement and each of the plurality of fixation elements comprises a second locking arrangement and wherein the first and second locking arrangements are configured and arranged, when engaged with each other, to lock a one of the electrodes to a one of the fixation elements, wherein a one of the first and second locking arrangements comprises a locking ridge and another one of the first and second locking arrangements comprises a spring element configured and arranged to allow the ridge to pass over the spring element and to hinder reversing passage of the ridge over the spring element.
