1. A display device comprising:
a display section including a plurality of display pixels which are arrayed in a matrix;
a driving device configured to drive the plurality of display pixels;
a timing controller which controls the driving device; and
a first numerical value setting device which is connected to the timing controller, and configured to store set values of a gray-level pattern which is displayed on a pixel group which is composed of the plurality of display pixels, and
the timing controller including a generating device configured to generate a gray-level signal which is supplied to the driving device, based on the set values of the gray-level pattern which are obtained from the first numerical value setting device.
2. The display device according to claim 1, wherein the timing controller includes a second numerical value setting device configured to store set values of a gray-level pattern, and a switching device configured to switch values, which are supplied to the generating device, between the set values that are set in the first numerical value setting device and the set values that are set in the second numerical value setting device.
3. The display device according to claim 1, further comprising a pair of substrates which are opposed to each other, and a liquid crystal layer which is held between the pair of substrates.
4. A display device comprising:
a display section which including a plurality of display pixels which are arrayed in a matrix;
driving means for driving the plurality of display pixels;
a timing controller which controls the driving means; and
first numerical value setting means which is connected to the timing controller, and for storing set values of a gray-level pattern which is displayed on a pixel group which is composed of the plurality of display pixels, and
the timing controller including generating means for generating a gray-level signal which is supplied to the driving means, based on the set values of the gray-level pattern which are obtained from the first numerical value setting means.

1. A method for minimizing the time required to terminate an instant messaging session, comprising:
detecting termination of said instant messaging session by a local user, wherein said termination of said instant messaging session includes said local user closing a user interface window containing said instant messaging session;
in response to said detecting termination of said instant messaging session, for a predetermined time period following said detection of said termination of said instant messaging session, checking instant messages received from other participants in said terminated instant messaging session for insignificant farewell messages, wherein said checking includes checking the content of said messages received from other participants in said terminated instant messaging session for a minimum message word count not including insignificant farewell content; and
in response to detecting an insignificant farewell message, processing the detected insignificant farewell message such that said target user is not disturbed by the detected insignificant farewell message.
2. The method of claim 1, wherein said processing of the detected insignificant farewell message comprises ignoring the detected insignificant farewell message.
3. The method of claim 1, wherein said processing of the detected insignificant farewell message comprises transmitting a pre-composed response message to one of said participants in said terminated instant messaging session that sent the detected insignificant farewell message.
4. The method of claim 1, wherein said insignificant farewell content includes at least one insignificant farewell term.
5. The method of claim 1, wherein said insignificant farewell content includes at least one insignificant farewell expression.
6. The method of claim 1, wherein said insignificant farewell content includes at least one insignificant farewell acronym.
7. A computer system having hardware including at least one processor communicably coupled to a computer readable memory, said computer readable memory having program code stored thereon for minimizing the time required to terminate an instant messaging session, said program code comprising:
program code for detecting termination of said instant messaging session by a local user, wherein said termination of said instant messaging session includes said local user closing a user interface window containing said instant messaging session;
program code for, in response to said detecting termination of said instant messaging session, for a predetermined time period following said detection of said termination of said instant messaging session, checking instant messages received from other participants in said terminated instant messaging session for insignificant farewell messages, wherein said checking includes checking the content of said messages received from other participants in said terminated instant messaging session for a minimum message word count not including insignificant farewell content; and
program code for, in response to detecting an insignificant farewell message, processing the detected insignificant farewell message such that said target user is not disturbed by the detected insignificant farewell message.
8. The system of claim 7, wherein said program code for processing of the detected insignificant farewell message processes the detected insignificant farewell message by ignoring the detected insignificant farewell message.
9. The system of claim 7, wherein said program code for processing of the detected insignificant farewell message processes the detected insignificant farewell message transmits a pre-composed response message to one of said participants in said terminated instant messaging session that sent the detected insignificant farewell message.
10. The system of claim 7, wherein said insignificant farewell content includes at least one insignificant farewell term.
11. The system of claim 7, wherein said insignificant farewell content includes at least one insignificant farewell expression.
12. The system of claim 7, wherein said insignificant farewell content includes at least one insignificant farewell acronym.
13. A computer program product, comprising:
a non-signal computer readable storage medium, said computer readable storage medium having program code stored thereon for minimizing the time required to terminate an instant messaging session, said program code comprising:
program code for detecting termination of said instant messaging session by a local user, wherein said termination of said instant messaging session includes said local user closing a user interface window containing said instant messaging session;
program code for, in response to said detecting termination of said instant messaging session, for a predetermined time period following said detection of said termination of said instant messaging session, checking instant messages received from other participants in said terminated instant messaging session for insignificant farewell messages, wherein said checking includes checking the content of said messages received from other participants in said terminated instant messaging session for a minimum message word count not including insignificant farewell content; and
program code for, in response to detecting an insignificant farewell message, processing the detected insignificant farewell message such that said target user is not disturbed by the detected insignificant farewell message.
14. The computer program product of claim 13, wherein said program code for processing of the detected insignificant farewell message processes the detected insignificant farewell message by ignoring the detected insignificant farewell message.

The computer program product of claim 13, wherein said program code for processing of the detected insignificant farewell message processes the detected insignificant farewell message transmits a pre-composed response message to one of said participants in said terminated instant messaging session that sent the detected insignificant farewell message.
