1. A razor storage device, comprising:
a container having a height, width, and length, and further comprising
a tray portion and a well portion, wherein the tray and the well are connected as a well-tray integrate,
wherein, the well is a defined space comprising a well bottom wall and sides of sufficient height to encompass a volume at least large enough to contain the razor portion of a shaving razor and a volume of liquid sufficient to completely coat said razor portion within said liquid, and
wherein, the well extends below a plane extending across the entirety of the well at an elevation equal to the lowest point on the well-tray junction.
2. The device of claim 1, wherein the device is shaped to accommodate a container of corresponding size and shape, so the container fits within the space bounded by the razor storage device.
3. The device of claim 2, wherein the container holds a fluid for use with the razor storage device.
4. The device of claim 2, wherein the container holds a razor conditioner.
5. The device of claim 2, wherein the container holds an anti-microbial agent.
6. The device of claim 2, wherein the container holds a skin conditioner.
7. A method for maintaining a razor, comprising: providing a razor storage device defining a space comprising a tray and a well, wherein the well defines a space for containing a volume of liquid; placing a liquid within the well; placing a razor head portion of a razor into the well, with the razor head in the well and a razor handle portion of a razor resting on the tray so the razor head portion is at least partially submerged in the liquid contained in the well; and allowing water and debris from the razor head portion to be separated from the razor head portion and fall to the bottom of the well.
8. The method of claim 7, wherein the liquid is a razor conditioner.
9. The method of claim 7, wherein the liquid comprises an anti-microbial agent.
10. The method of claim 7, wherein the liquid comprises a skin conditioner.

1. A method of managing a statement pool, the method comprising:
tracking usage of a plurality of statements in a statement pool utilized by a database; and
selectively optimizing at least one of the statements from the statement pool based upon the tracked usage of the plurality of statements.
2. The method of claim 1, wherein tracking usage includes tracking at least one of a number of times and a last time that each of the statements is used.
3. The method of claim 1, further comprising selectively optimizing a second statement from the statement pool after selectively optimizing the first statement based upon the tracked usage indicating that the first statement has a higher usage than the second statement.
4. The method of claim 1, wherein selectively optimizing the statement further includes associating with an optimized representation of the statement a statement signature for an unoptimized representation of the statement, the method further comprising accessing the optimized representation of the statement in response to a user request to access a statement having a statement signature corresponding to the unoptimized representation of the statement.
5. The method of claim 1, wherein selectively optimizing the statement includes modifying an unoptimized representation of the statement to perform at least one of instructing the database to convert returned data to a different format prior to returning the data, modifying an access method to be used during execution of the statement, reordering a retrieval order for the data to be returned in response to execution of the statement, and referencing at least one stored procedure.
6. The method of claim 5, wherein selectively optimizing the statement further includes determining that the unoptimized representation of the statement requests data in a first format from a field in the database that stores the data in a second format, wherein modifying the unoptimized representation of the statement includes modifying the unoptimized representation of the statement to instruct the database to convert the data to the first format prior to returning the data.
7. The method of claim 6, wherein the unoptimized statement is processed by a Java Database Connectivity driver and requests the data in Unicode format, and wherein modifying the unoptimized representation of the statement includes modifying the unoptimized representation of the statement to instruct the database to convert the data to the Unicode format prior to returning the data.
8. The method of claim 1, further comprising, after selectively optimizing the statement, processing a request to access an unoptimized representation of the statement by accessing an optimized representation of the statement.
9. An apparatus, comprising:
a processor; and
program code configured to be executed by the processor to manage a statement pool utilized by a database by tracking usage of a plurality of statements in the statement pool and selectively optimizing at least one of the statements from the statement pool based upon the tracked usage of the plurality of statements.
10. The apparatus of claim 9, wherein the program code is configured to track usage by tracking at least one of a number of times and a last time that each of the plurality of statements is used.
11. The apparatus of claim 9, wherein the program code is further configured to selectively optimize a second statement from the statement pool after selectively optimizing the first statement based upon the tracked usage indicating that the first statement has a higher usage than the second statement.
12. The apparatus of claim 9, wherein the program code is configured to selectively optimize the statement further by associating with an optimized representation of the statement a statement signature for an unoptimized representation of the statement, and to access the optimized representation of the statement in response to a user request to access a statement having a statement signature corresponding to the unoptimized representation of the statement.
13. The apparatus of claim 9, wherein the program code is configured to selectively optimize the statement by modifying an unoptimized representation of the statement to perform at least one of instructing the database to convert returned data to a different format prior to returning the data, modifying an access method to be used during execution of the statement, reordering a retrieval order for the data to be returned in response to execution of the statement, and referencing at least one stored procedure.
14. The apparatus of claim 9, wherein the program code is further configured to, after selectively optimizing the statement, process a request to access an unoptimized representation of the statement by accessing an optimized representation of the statement.
15. A program product, comprising:
program code configured to be executed by the processor to manage a statement pool utilized by a database by tracking usage of a plurality of statements in the statement pool and selectively optimizing at least one of the statements from the statement pool based upon the tracked usage of the plurality of statements; and
a recordable medium bearing the program code.
16. The program product of claim 15, wherein the program code is configured to track usage by tracking at least one of a number of times and a last time that each of the plurality of statements is used.
17. The program product of claim 15, wherein the program code is further configured to selectively optimize a second statement from the statement pool after selectively optimizing the first statement based upon the tracked usage indicating that the first statement has a higher usage than the second statement.
18. The program product of claim 15, wherein the program code is configured to selectively optimize the statement further by associating with an optimized representation of the statement a statement signature for an unoptimized representation of the statement, and to access the optimized representation of the statement in response to a user request to access a statement having a statement signature corresponding to the unoptimized representation of the statement.

The program product of claim 15, wherein the program code is configured to selectively optimize the statement by modifying an unoptimized representation of the statement to perform at least one of instructing the database to convert returned data to a different format prior to returning the data, modifying an access method to be used during execution of the statement, reordering a retrieval order for the data to be returned in response to execution of the statement, and referencing at least one stored procedure.
20. The program product of claim 15, wherein the program code is further configured to, after selectively optimizing the statement, process a request to access an unoptimized representation of the statement by accessing an optimized representation of the statement.
