1. A wood-type golf club head comprising:
an aft body comprising a crown and a sole; and
a face portion attached to the aft body, the face portion comprising a striking area and a rear section extending laterally rearwardly from the striking face;
wherein the rear section comprises a sole side, a crown side, a heel side, and a toe side;
wherein the crown and the sole each have a periphery and are connected to one another at their peripheries; and
wherein the crown and sole are connected to one another at one or more locations spaced inward from their respective peripheries to form a pillar, and
wherein an interior surface of the crown is visible through the pillar.
2. The wood-type golf club head of claim 1, wherein the crown is composed of a composite material.
3. The wood-type golf club head of claim 1, wherein the sole is composed of a composite material.
4. The wood-type golf club head of claim 1, wherein the face portion is composed of a titanium material.
5. The wood-type golf club head of claim 1, further comprising a ribbon disposed between and connected to the crown and the sole at their respective peripheries.
6. The wood-type golf club head of claim 1, wherein the face portion is a face cup.
7. The wood-type golf club head of claim 6, wherein the face cup is composed of a titanium alloy material.
8. The wood-type golf club head of claim 1, wherein the crown and the sole are connected to one another at their peripheries with an adhesive material.
9. The wood-type golf club head of claim 1, wherein the striking area comprises a variable thickness pattern.
10. A wood-type golf club head comprising:
a face component;
a compression-molded composite crown comprising interior and exterior surfaces and a periphery;
a sole comprising one or more apertures and a periphery; and
one or more composite pieces having approximately the same size in plan as the one or more apertures and having at least three sides;
wherein the interior surface of the crown is visible through the one or more apertures;
wherein at least one side of each of the one or more composite pieces is affixed to at least one side of each of the one or more apertures; and
wherein at least one side of each of the one or more composite pieces is affixed to the interior surface of the crown.
11. The wood-type golf club head of claim 10, wherein the wood-type golf club head is a driver-type head.
12. The wood-type golf club head of claim 10, wherein the face component is a face plate.
13. The wood-type golf club head of claim 10, wherein the ace component is composed of a titanium material.
14. The wood-type golf club head of claim 10, further comprising a ribbon disposed between and connected to the crown and the sole at their respective peripheries.
15. The wood-type golf club head of claim 10, wherein the crown and sole are connected to one another at their respective peripheries.
16. A wood-type golf club head comprising
a face component comprising a striking face;
a composite crown comprising interior and exterior surfaces; and
a sole comprising at least one deep pocket,
wherein the striking face comprises a variable thickness pattern,
wherein the at least one deep pocket comprises interior and exterior surfaces, and
wherein a portion of the interior surface of the at least one deep pocket contacts a portion of the interior surface of the composite crown.
17. The wood-type golf club head of claim 16, wherein the sole comprises two deep pockets.
18. The wood-type golf club head of claim 16, wherein the sole comprises four deep pockets.
19. The wood-type golf club head of claim 16, wherein a cumulative volume of the at least one deep pocket is less than 50 cubic centimeters.
20. The wood-type golf club head of claim 16, wherein the crown and the sole each have a periphery, and wherein the crown and sole are connected to each other at their respective peripheries.

32. A computer system to dynamically manage transactions for netting one or more transactions associated with a collection, the computer system comprising:
a database stored in memory, the database including netting data of the one or more transactions;
a netting engine, using processor components, to perform at least the following operations,
receiving the one or more transactions;
associating the one or more transactions with the collection based on a general rule set and a specific rule set,
determining a net transaction value for the collection, and
causing a settlement of the one or more transactions associated with the collection based on the determined net transaction value; and

a rule engine for generating rules in at least one of the specific rule set or the general rule set, said rules in the general rule set and the specific rule set are associated with at least one priority.
33. The computer system of claim 32, wherein the rule engine automatically generates one or more rules in the general rule set or the specific rule set based on at least one settlement.
34. The computer system of claim 32, wherein the netting engine further performs the operation of selecting a rule.
35. The computer system of claim 34, wherein said step of operating of determining is based on the rule selected.
36. The computer system of claim 35, wherein said selecting is based upon a priority.
37. The computer system of claim 35, wherein said selecting is based upon an attribute of the one or more transactions.
38. The computer system of claim 37, wherein the priority is based upon historical data.
39. The computer system of claim 37, wherein the historical data comprises historical data associated with settlement, netting or association.
40. The computer system of claim 32, wherein the netting engine associates the one or more transactions with the collection based on a specific rule in the specific rule set.

The computer system of claim 32, wherein the netting engine associates the one or more transactions with the collection based on a general rule in the general rule set where the one or more transactions are not associated with at least one collection based on a specific rule in the specific rule set.
42. The computer system of claim 32, wherein the netting engine further performs the following operations:
disassociating the one or more transactions from the collection; and
associating the one or more transactions with a second collection based on a general rule in a general rule set.
43. The computer system of claim 32, wherein the netting data of each of the one or more transactions comprises a rule identifier, the rule identifier identifying a rule in the general rule set or the specific rule set.
44. The computer system of claim 32, wherein general rule set and the specific rule set comprises a plurality of rules defining attributes of the one or more transactions.
45. The computer system of claim 32, wherein the netting engine performs at least one of:
automatically associating the one or more transactions with the collection based on the general rule set and the specific rule set when the one or more transactions are received or amended; and
automatically disassociating the one or more transactions with the collection based on the general rule set and the specific rule set when the one or more transactions are removed.
46. A netting system to net one or more transactions associated with a collection in accordance with a netting rule, the computer system comprising:
a denormalized transaction database including data of each of the one or more transactions, the data of each of the one or more transactions including a rule identifier; and
a netting engine to perform at least the following operations using a processor,
receiving the one or more transactions;
associating the one or more transactions with the collection in accordance with a general rule set and a specific rule set, said rules in the general rule set and the specific rule set are associated with at least one priority;
determining a net transaction value for the collection, and
causing a settlement of the one or more transactions associated with the collection based on the determined net transaction value.
47. The netting system of claim 46, wherein the rule identifier identifies a rule in the general rule set or the specific rule set associated with the one or more transaction.
48. The netting system of claim 46, wherein the netting engine associates the one or more transactions with the collection according to a rule in the specific rule set.
49. The netting system of claim 48, wherein the netting engine associates the one or more transactions with the collection in response to the updating of the rule identifier to identify the rule.
50. The netting system of claim 46, wherein the netting engine associates the one or more transactions with the collection according to a rule in the general rule set.
51. The netting system of claim 50, wherein the netting engine associates the one or more transactions with the collection if the one or more transactions are not associated with at least one collection based on a rule in the specific rule set.
52. The netting system of claim 50, wherein the netting engine associates the one or more transactions with the collection in response to the updating of the rule identifier to null.
53. A computer-implemented method of netting one or more transactions using a programmed computer processor according to a netting rule stored in memory, the method comprising the steps of:
generating rules for a general rule set and a specific rule set;
receiving the one or more transactions;
associating the one or more transactions with the collection, using the programmed computer processor, in accordance with the general rule set and the specific rule set, said rules in the general rule set and the specific rule set are associated with at least one priority;
determining a net transaction value for the collection using the programmed computer processor; and
causing a settlement of the one or more transactions associated with the netting group using the programmed computer processor based on the determined net transaction value.
54. The netting method of claim 53, further comprising automatically generating one or more rules in the general rule set or the specific rule set based on at least one settlement.
55. The netting method of claim 54, wherein said step of determining is based on a selected rule, the method further comprising the step of selecting a rule.
56. The netting method of claim 55, wherein said selecting is based upon a priority.
57. The netting method of claim 56, wherein said selecting is based upon an attribute of the one or more transactions.
58. The netting method of claim 56, wherein the priority is based upon historical data.
59. The netting method of claim 56, wherein the historical data comprises historical data associated with settlement, netting or association.
60. The netting method of claim 53, wherein the associating step is in response to the adding or modification of the one or more transactions.
61. The netting method of claim 53, further comprising the step of automatically disassociating the one or more transactions from the netting collection according to at least one rule in the general rule set or the specific rule set when the one or more transactions are removed.
62. The netting method of claim 53, further comprising the step of automatically updating netting data associated with the one or more transactions in response to step of associating, determining or causing.
63. The netting method of claim 53, further comprising the step of automatically generating the one or more rules in the general rule set or the specific rule set.
