1. A collapsible plastic bottle comprising:
a plastic bottom wall;
a plastic annular sidewall which has a top and a bottom, which is connected at its bottom to the bottom wall and extends upwardly therefrom, and which has expanded and collapsed positions;
an interior chamber defined by the bottom wall and sidewall;
a top entrance opening of the interior chamber defined by the top of the sidewall;
a plurality of grooves formed in the sidewall which facilitate movement of the sidewall from the expanded position to the collapsed position in response to a manual force applied to the sidewall to cause one of the top and bottom of the sidewall to move toward the other of the top and bottom of the sidewall; and
a visual indicator on the bottle suggestive of a need to apply the manual force.
2. The bottle of claim 1 wherein the sidewall comprises a plurality of annular groove walls which substantially circumscribe the interior chamber and respectively define the grooves; and further comprising at least one break space in each of the groove walls which interrupts the annular continuity of the respective groove wall and facilitates radially inward movement of a portion of the respective groove wall during movement of the sidewall from the expanded position to the collapsed position.
3. The bottle of claim 2 further comprising at least one interruption member in each of the grooves which defines the at least one break space and interrupts the annular continuity of the respective groove.
4. The bottle of claim 3 wherein the at least one interruption member comprises left and right walls which bound the at least one break space.
5. The bottle of claim 4 wherein the left and right walls are folding walls which fold relative to one another during movement of the sidewall from the expanded position to the collapsed position.
6. The bottle of claim 3 wherein each groove wall comprises an upper segment which extends over the respective groove and a lower segment which extends below the respective groove; and the at least one interruption member extends between and is connected to the upper and lower segments.
7. The bottle of claim 3 wherein the at least one interruption member has an inner end and an outer opposed end radially outward of the inner end; and the outer end has a vertical dimension which is greater than that of the inner end.
8. The bottle of claim 1 wherein the visual indicator comprises a first arrow which is one of (a) adjacent the top of the sidewall and pointing downwardly and (b) adjacent the bottom of the sidewall and pointing upwardly.
9. The bottle of claim 1 wherein the visual indicator comprises a set of circumferentially spaced fingertip indentations which are formed in the sidewall and sized to receive therein a fingertip.
10. The bottle of claim 4 wherein the fingertip indentations are disposed above the grooves.
11. The bottle of claim 4 wherein each fingertip indentation has top and bottom edges; each fingertip indentation is bounded by a lower surface which extends from adjacent the bottom edge toward the top edge and against which the first manual force is to be applied; each fingertip indentation has an upper surface which extends from adjacent the top edge toward the lower surface; and each lower surface extends radially inwardly adjacent the bottom edge at a sharper angle than does the upper surface adjacent the top edge.
12. The bottle of claim 1 wherein the visual indicator comprises a set of circumferentially spaced radially extending concavely curved fingertip grip surfaces on the sidewall.
13. The bottle of claim 1 wherein the visual indicator is disposed above the grooves.
14. The bottle of claim 1 wherein the sidewall adjacent its top comprises a shoulder section which tapers downwardly and outwardly; and the visual indicator is disposed on the shoulder section.
15. The bottle of claim 1 wherein the sidewall circumscribes a vertical axis; the grooves facilitate movement of the sidewall from the expanded position to the collapsed position in response to a manual vertical force applied to the sidewall and a manual rotational force applied to the sidewall in a rotational direction about the vertical axis to cause relative rotation between the top and bottom of the sidewall; and the visual indicator is suggestive of a need to apply the manual vertical force and the manual rotational force.
16. The bottle of claim 1 further comprising a label connected to the sidewall and covering a portion of the grooves.
17. The bottle of claim 1 further comprising a plurality of permanent irregular creases formed in the sidewall in response to movement of the sidewall from the expanded position to the collapsed position.
18. The bottle of claim 1 further comprising a cap which is removably attached to the sidewall and forms an airtight and watertight seal therewith between the interior chamber and atmosphere external to the bottle.
19. A collapsible plastic bottle comprising:
a plastic bottom wall;
a plastic annular sidewall which has a top and a bottom, which is connected at its bottom to the bottom wall and extends upwardly therefrom, and which has expanded and collapsed positions;
an interior chamber defined by the bottom wall and sidewall;
a top entrance opening of the interior chamber defined by the top of the sidewall;
a plurality of annular groove walls of the sidewall which substantially circumscribe the interior chamber and respectively define a plurality of annular grooves which facilitate movement of the sidewall from the expanded position to the collapsed position in response to a manual force applied to the sidewall; and
at least one break space in each of the groove walls which interrupts the annular continuity of the respective groove wall and facilitates radially inward movement of a portion of the respective groove wall during movement of the sidewall from the expanded position to the collapsed position.
20. A collapsible plastic bottle comprising:
a plastic bottom wall;
a plastic annular sidewall which has a top and a bottom, which is connected at its bottom to the bottom wall and extends upwardly therefrom, and which has expanded and collapsed positions;
an interior chamber defined by the bottom wall and sidewall;
a top entrance opening of the interior chamber defined by the top of the sidewall;
a plurality of annular grooves formed in the sidewall which facilitate movement of the sidewall from the expanded position to the collapsed position in response to a manual force applied to the sidewall; and
at least one interruption member in each of the grooves which interrupts the annular continuity of the groove.

1. A system comprising:
an interface to receive a request from a client system for information in a database system; and
a controller to format metadata associated with the requested information into a format for display in the client system, wherein said controller is adapted to map plural data types defined by the database system to corresponding files types to enable presentation in the client system of an object having an associated data type retrieved from the database system,
wherein said controller is adapted to further map plural data types to the corresponding files types based on a table having multiple entries each associating a data type defined by the database system with a file extension corresponding to a respective file type, and
wherein the controller is adapted to create a file name for the object, the file name containing the file extension mapped for the data type of the object, and to send a file having the file name to the client system, the file containing the object.
2. The system of claim 1, wherein the controller comprises a network communications service to receive the request from the client system.
3. The system of claim 2, wherein the network communications service comprises a Hypertext Transport Protocol service.
4. The system of claim 1, the controller to format the metadata into a predetermined format displayable by a browser.
5. The system of claim 4, wherein the predetermined format comprises a format selected from the group consisting of a Hypertext Markup Language format, an Extensible Markup Language format, and a Wireless Markup Language format.
6. The system of claim 1, wherein the database system comprises an object relational database system.
7. The system of claim 1, wherein the plural data types comprise two or more of the following: audio data, video data, multimedia data, image data, and geospatial data.
8. The system of claim 1, further comprising a storage element containing an object retrieved from the database system, the controller to communicate data in the object as a stream to the client system.
9. The system of claim 8, wherein the controller communicates portions of the object to the client system in the stream so that the entire object need not be communicated to the client system for storage.
10. The system of claim 1, wherein the metadata comprises a hyperlink.
11. The system of claim 10, the interface to receive a second request indicating selection of the hyperlink, the hyperlink corresponding to the object in the database system.
12. The system of claim 1, wherein the metadata contains a description of plural objects in the database system.
13. The system of claim 12, wherein the description comprises hyperlinks corresponding to the plural objects.
14. The system of claim 1, wherein the controller is adapted to further receive presentation information stored in the database system, the presentation information defining a manner in which the requested information is to be presented by the client system.
15. The system of claim 14, wherein the controller is adapted to use the presentation information to map the data types to the file types.
16. A method of accessing an object relation database, comprising:
loading an applet over a network from a server;
executing the applet to present an interactive interface in a browser display screen to receive user queries and to send requests for information from the object relational database in response to the user queries;
receiving metadata relating to requested information from the object relational database;
displaying at least a portion of the metadata as a hyperlink;
in response to selection of the hyperlink, sending a request for an object in the object relational database, the object containing information associated with the selected metadata portion;
associating the object with one of plural presentation routines to present the information in the object;
mapping plural data types stored in the object relational database to corresponding plural file types; and
identifying a file type of the object based on the mapping, wherein mapping the plural data types to corresponding plural file types comprises mapping, based on a mapping table, the plural data types defined by object relational database to the corresponding file types, wherein the mapping table has entries mapping a data type to a corresponding file extension with a respective file type.
17. The method of claim 16, wherein associating the object with one of plural presentation routines is based on the file type of the object.
18. The method of claim 16, further comprising invoking the one presentation routine as a plug-in to a browser.
19. The method of claim 16, further comprising:
receiving at least one of a Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), Extensible Markup Language (XML), and Wireless Markup Language (WML) file to present the browser display screen.
20. The method of claim 19, wherein the at least one of the HTML, XML, and WML file causes a first frame to be presented in the browser display screen, the method further comprising invoking the applet in response to user selection of an element in the first frame,
wherein the interactive interface is presented in a second frame in the browser display screen.
21. An article comprising at least one storage medium containing instructions that when executed cause a first system to:
receive a request from a client system for data in a database;
retrieve the data from the database type; and
determine a data type of the retrieved data and map the data type to a file type presentable by the client system type, wherein mapping the data type to the file type comprises accessing a table having multiple entries to map plural data types associated with data stored in the database with corresponding plural file types presentable by the client system, each entry of the table associating a data type defined by the database with a file extension corresponding to a respective file type, and
wherein the instructions when executed cause the first system to further create a file name for the retrieved data, the file name containing the file extension mapped for the data type of the retrieved data, and to further send a file having the file name to the client system, the file containing the retrieved data.
22. The article of claim 21, wherein the instructions when executed cause the first system to:
retrieve metadata describing the requested data; and
format the metadata according to a predetermined format displayable by the client system.
23. The article of claim 22, wherein the predetermined format comprises one of a Hypertext Markup Language format, an Extensible Markup Language format, and a Wireless Markup Language format.
24. The article of claim 22, wherein the metadata comprises a hyperlink, the instructions when executed causing the first system to receive activation of the hyperlink and to retrieve the data in response to the activation of the hyperlink.
25. The article of claim 21, wherein the instructions when executed cause the first system to retrieve an object from an object relational database.
26. The article of claim 21, wherein the database stores rules pertaining to presentation of the data in the client system, the instructions when executed causing the first system to access the rules to map the data type to the file type.
27. A system comprising:
one or more storage devices containing an applet and a document;
an interface to a network;
a controller to communicate the document to a client device, the document containing data defining a page displayable in a browser screen, and the applet containing instructions that when executed provide an interactive portion of the browser screen to enable user entry of Structured Query Language (SQL) queries, wherein said applet responsive to SQL queries entered in the interactive portion of the browser screen by sending corresponding requests for accessing data in a database system; and
wherein the controller is adapted to create a file name for the object, the file name containing the file extension mapped for the data type of the object, and to send a file having the file name to the client system, the file containing the object.
28. The system of claim 27, wherein the applet is invoked in response to user selection of an element in a first frame of the browser screen,
the interactive portion being part of a second frame of the browser screen.
29. The system of claim 28, wherein the browser screen comprises a third frame to display a result page in response to a request for data in the database system,
the result page containing at least one hyperlink selectable by a user to retrieve an object from the database system.
30. A system comprising:
an interface to receive a request from a client system for information in a database system; and
a controller to format metadata associated with the requested information into a format for display in the client system; wherein said controller is adapted to map plural data types in the database system to corresponding files types to enable presentation in the client system of an object having an associated data type retrieved from the database,
wherein the controller is adapted to communicate the requested information and executable code associated with the requested information to the client system, the executable code for presenting the requested information in the client system, and
wherein the controller is adapted to create a file name for the object, the file name containing the file extension mapped for the data type of the object, and to send a file having the file name to the client system, the file containing the object.
31. An article comprising at least one storage medium containing instructions that when executed cause a first system to:
receive a request from a client system for data in a database;
retrieve the data from the database; and
determine a data type of the retrieved data and map the data type to a file type presentable by the client system type;
wherein mapping the data type to the file type comprises accessing a table having multiple entries to map plural data types associated with data stored in the database with corresponding plural file types presentable by the client system;
wherein the instructions when executed cause the first system to communicate executable code stored in the database and associated with the retrieved data to the client system, the executable code for presenting the retrieved data in the client system, and
wherein the instructions when executed cause the first system to further create a file name for the retrieved data, the file name containing the file extension mapped for the data type of the retrieved data, and to further send a file having the file name to the client system, the file containing the retrieved data.

one or more circuits that enable decomposition of a plurality of pixel block level motion vectors into a plurality of pixel level motion vectors in an image processing system; and
said one or more circuits enable generation of a plurality of pixel values within an interpolated image frame based on said plurality of pixel level motion vectors.
2. The system according to claim 1, wherein said one or more circuits enable generation of a plurality of thresholded motion vectors by comparing a confidence attribute associated with each of said plurality of pixel block level motion vectors to a threshold value.
3. The system according to claim 2, wherein said one or more circuits enable generation of a plurality of weighting factors corresponding to said plurality of thresholded motion vectors.
4. The system according to claim 3, wherein said one or more circuits enable generation of one or more sets of motion vector coordinate values based on said plurality of weighting factors.
5. The system according to claim 4, wherein said one or more circuits enable computation of one or more median values based on said generated one or more sets of motion vector coordinate values.
6. The system according to claim 5, wherein said one or more circuits enable said computation of said one or more median values by sorting said generated one or more sets of motion vector coordinate values in one of: ascending order and descending order.

The system according to claim 9, wherein said one or more circuits enable computation of a vector distance sum based on a computed distance between a selected one of said plurality of vector representations and each of said plurality of representations based on said plurality of weighting factors.
11. The system according to claim 10, wherein said one or more circuits enable computation of a distinct said vector distance sum for each distinct said selected one of said plurality of said plurality of vector representations.
12. The system according to claim 11, wherein said one or more circuits enable computation of a median distance sum that is less than or equal to each of said plurality of distinct vector distance sums.
13. The system according to claim 12, wherein said one or more circuits enable computation of at least one of said plurality of pixel level motion vectors based on said computed median distance sum.
14. A method for image processing, the method comprising:
decomposing a plurality of pixel block level motion vectors into a plurality of pixel level motion vectors in an image processing system; and
generating a plurality of pixel values within an interpolated image frame based on said plurality of pixel level motion vectors.
15. The method according to claim 14, comprising generating a plurality of thresholded motion vectors by comparing a confidence attribute associated with each of said plurality of pixel block level motion vectors to a threshold value.
16. The method according to claim 15, comprising generating a plurality of weighting factors corresponding to said plurality of thresholded motion vectors.
17. The method according to claim 16, comprising generating one or more sets of motion vector coordinate values based on said plurality of weighting factors.
18. The method according to claim 17, comprising computing one or more median values based on said generated one or more sets of motion vector coordinate values.
19. The method according to claim 18, comprising computing said one or more median values by sorting said generated one or more sets of motion vector coordinate values in one of: ascending order and descending order.
20. The method according to claim 19, comprising computing one or both of: an x-component value and a y-component value; based on said computed one or more median values.
21. The method according to claim 20, comprising computing at least one of said plurality of pixel level motion vectors based on said x-component value andor said y-component value.

What is claimed is:

1. A highly impact-resistant granule comprising a) an impact-sensitive particle including an active ingredient and b) a flexible film comprising a polymer surrounding said impact-sensitive particle,
wherein said film has an elongation upon break of at least about 30% and said film comprises less than about 20% by weight of the highly impact-resistant granule,
wherein said impact-sensitive particle has more than about 10% mass attrition and said highly impact-resistant granule has less than about 5% mass attrition.
2. The granule of claim 1, wherein the polymer is selected from the group consisting of PVA, gelatin and modified starch.
3. The granule of claim 2, wherein the film further comprises a gelling agent.
4. The granule of claim 1, wherein the film comprises PVA, glycerol and a gelling agent.
5. The granule of claim 1, wherein the active ingredient is a protein or peptide.
6. The granule of claim 5, wherein the protein is an enzyme.
7. A highly impact-resistant granule comprising, a core, an active ingredient, and a water-soluble or water-dispersible flexible film comprising a polymeric material surrounding said core and active ingredient, wherein said flexible film is less than about 20% by weight of the granule, and the elongation upon break is greater than about 30%.
8. The granule of claim 7, wherein the active ingredient is in a layer surrounding the core.
9. The granule of claim 7, further comprising an intermediate coating layer surrounding the core and active ingredient wherein said intermediate coating layer is surrounded by said flexible film.
10. The granule of claim 7, wherein the flexible film comprises less than 10% by weight of the granule.
11. The granule of claim 7, wherein the flexible film is less than about 20 microns.
12. The granule of claim 7, wherein the polymer is selected from the group consisting of polyvinyl alcohols, gelatin, modified starches, polyethylene glycols, polyvinyl pyrroldidones, cellulose ethers and derivatives and copolymers thereof.
13. The granule of claim 12, wherein the polymer is a polyvinyl alcohol and derivatives thereof.
14. The granule of claim 7, wherein the film further includes a plasticizer.
15. The granule of claim 7, wherein the film further includes a gelling agent.
16. The granule of claim 14, wherein the plasticizer is selected from the group consisting of glycerol, propylene glycol, polyethylene glycol, sugars, and sugar alcohols.
17. The granule of claim 7, wherein the active ingredient is a protein or peptide.
18. The granule of claim 17, wherein the active ingredient is an enzyme.
19. The granule of claim 18, wherein the enzyme is selected from the group consisting of proteases, cellulases, amylases, lipases, and cutinases.
20. The granule of claim 7 further comprising an over-coating surrounding said film.
21. The highly impact-resistant granule of claim 7, wherein the flexible film is less than about 10 microns.
22. A flexible film coating for an enzyme granule comprising a polymeric material, wherein said polymeric material i) surrounds a particle including an active ingredient, ii) is less than about 20% by weight of the granule, and iii) has an elongation upon break of at least about 30%, at least about 50%, at least about 100%, at least about 125%, at least about 150%, and at least about 200%.
23. The flexible film of claim 22, wherein the granule has a RIT dust value of less than about 100,000 ngg.
24. A method for producing a highly impact-resistant granule comprising the steps of
a) obtaining a water-soluble or water dispersible flexible film which comprises a polymer having an elongation upon break of at least 30%, at least about 50%, at least about 100%, at least about 125%, at least about 150%, and at least about 200%.;
b) obtaining a core material and active ingredient wherein the active ingredient is either incorporated into the core or in a layer surrounding the core;
c) casting the flexible film of step a) onto the product of step b) to produce a granule wherein the flexible film comprises about 20% or less by weight of the granule and said granule has an RIT dust value of less than about 100,000 ngg.
25. A method for making a highly-impact resistant enzyme-containing granule, said method comprising:
a) selecting a suitable core material;
b) coating the core of step a) with an enzyme layer comprising one or more enzymes selected from the group consisting of proteases, cellulase, amylases, and lipases; and
c) casting a water-soluble or water-dispersible film comprising a polyvinvyl alcohol polymer and a glycerol plasticizer to the product of step b) wherein said film as an elongation upon break of about 30% or more to produce a granule having an RIT dust value of 100,000 ngg or less.
26. A highly impact-resistant granule produced according to the method of claim 24.
27. A highly impact-resistant granule produced according to the method of claim 25.
28. The method of claim 24 wherein in step d) the flexible film comprises about 10% or less by weight of the granule.
29. The method of claim 23 wherein in step c), the flexible film cast on the product has a thickness of about 20 microns.
30. The method of claim 23 wherein in step c), the flexible film cast on the product has a thickness of about 15 microns.
