determining a route of travel of a vehicle in which a navigation device is located, based upon at least a desired destination and a current location of the vehicle;
storing map information including attribute information relating to network area coverage;
determining, based upon at least one of the map information and the attribute information and based upon the route of travel of the vehicle, when network area coverage will permit data information transfer along the route of travel;
and
connecting the navigation device to a server via at least one modem upon determining that network area coverage will permit data information transfer;
wherein the connecting is switchable between different moderns based upon determined network area coverage of the modem along the route of travel.
2. The method of claim 1, further comprising:
transferring information between the navigation device and a server upon determining that network area coverage will permit data information transfer.
3. The method of claim 2, wherein the transferring of information includes at least one of uploading information to the server and uploading information from the server.
4. The method of claim 1, wherein connection is established between a modem, at least one of included in the navigation device and included within an adapter of the navigation device, and the server.
5. The method of claim 3, wherein the information for at least one of uploading and downloading includes at least one of LTO information, traffic information and map information.
6. The method of claim 1, wherein the modem is at least one of internal to the navigation device and in a device paired with the navigation device, and wherein the modem is at least one of a GSMGPRS based Modem and a CDMA1X based Modem.
7. The method of claim 1, wherein the connecting of the navigation device to the server occurs via at least one of a modem internal to the navigation device, a modem in an adapter of the navigation device, and a modem in a device paired with the navigation device.
8. The method of claim 1, wherein the connecting is switchable between at least one modem of the navigation device and at least one modem in a device paired with the navigation device, based upon determined network area coverage of at least one of the modems along the route of travel.
9. The method of claim 8, comprising storing information relating to priority use of one modem over another.
10. The method of claim 9, wherein the stored information includes stored rules governing the switching between the modem of the navigation device and the modem in the device paired with navigation device.
11. The method of claim 10, further comprising:
transferring information between the navigation device and the server upon determining that network area coverage of at least one of the modems permits data information transfer.
12. The method of claim 8, further comprising:
determining, based upon determined network area coverage of at least one of the modems along the route of travel, when at least one of,
a network change is about to occur,
network coverage is about to fall below a threshold level, and
an end to network service of the modem of the navigation device is imminent.
13. The method of claim 12, further comprising connecting, upon making the determination, the navigation device to the server via the other one of the modems, upon making the determination.
14. The method of claim 13, wherein the one of the modems is the modem of the navigation device and wherein the other of the modems is the modem of the device paired with the navigation device.
15. The method of claim 14, further comprising:
transferring information between the navigation device and the server upon determining that network area coverage of at least one of the modems permits data information transfer.
16. The method of claim 15, wherein information is transmitted between the navigation device and the server in an initial start-up sequence of the navigation device via the modem of the navigation device.
17. The method of claim 16, wherein satellite location is used to further determine the information transmitted and reduce network outages along the route of travel of the vehicle.
18. The method of claim 8, wherein a layer of the map information contains information regarding geographic network availability of modems.

The method of claim 18, further comprising selecting along the route of travel, based upon the geographic network availability, at least one of the at least one modem of the navigation device and the at least one modem in a device paired with the navigation device, and planning a switch along the route of travel between the at least one modem of the navigation device and the at least one modem in a device paired with the navigation device.
20. The method of claim 19, further comprising planning network downloads from or uploads to the server based upon the selecting and planning.
21. A navigation device, comprising:
means for determining a route of travel of a vehicle in which the navigation device is located, based upon at least a desired destination and a current location of the vehicle;
means for storing map information including attribute information relating to network area coverage;
means for determining, based upon at least one of the map information and the attribute information and based upon the route of travel of the vehicle, when network area coverage will permit data information transfer along the route of travel; and
means for connecting the navigation device a server via at least one modem upon determining that network area coverage will permit data information transfer;
wherein the means for connecting is switchable between different modems based upon determined network area coverage of the modem along the route or travel.
22. The navigation device of claim 21, further comprising:
means for transferring information between the navigation device and a server upon determining that network area coverage will permit data information transfer.
23. The navigation device of claim 22, wherein the transferring of information includes at least one of uploading information to the server and uploading information from the server.
24. The navigation device of claim 21, wherein the modem is at least one of included in the navigation device and included within an adapter of the navigation device.

a memory to store map information including attribute information relating to network area coverage, the processor being further useable to determine, based upon at least one of the map information and the attribute information and based upon the route of travel of the vehicle, when network area coverage will permit data information transfer along the route of travel; and a modem to connect the navigation device to a, server upon the processor determining that network area coverage will permit data information transfer
wherein the connection is switchable between different modems based upon determined network area coverage of the modem along the route of travel.
42. The navigation device of claim 41, further comprising:
a transceiver to transfer information between the navigation device and a server upon determining that network area coverage will permit data information transfer.
43. The navigation device of claim 42, wherein the transferring of information includes at least one of uploading information to the server and uploading information from the server.
44. The navigation device of claim 41, wherein the modem is at least one of included in the navigation device and included within an adapter of the navigation device.

1. A cholesteric liquid crystal composition containing at least one esterified product selected from the group consisting of:
(1) an esterified product of a hydrolysate of (A) a \u03b3-oryzanol and (B1) a carboxylic acid compound,
(2) an esterified product of a hydrogenated product of a hydrolysate of (A) a \u03b3-oryzanol and (B2) a carboxylic acid compound, and
(3) an esterified product of a hydrogenated product of (A) a \u03b3-oryzanol and (B3) a carboxylic acid compound, the \u03b3-oryzanol (A) being a mixture containing at least one ferulate ester of a vegetable sterol and at least one ferulate ester of a triterpene alcohol, and
the hydrolysate of the \u03b3-oryzanol (A) being a mixture containing at least one vegetable sterol and at least one triterpene alcohol.
2. The cholesteric liquid crystal composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein
the carboxylic acid compound (B1) and the carboxylic acid compound (B2) are each independently a linear or branched and saturated or unsaturated aliphatic carboxylic acid compound having from 3 to 18 carbon atoms, a carboxylic acid compound represented by the following formula (b1) or a carboxylic acid compound represented by the following formula (b2), and
the carboxylic acid compound (B3) is a linear or branched and saturated or unsaturated aliphatic carboxylic acid compound having from 3 to 18 carbon atoms:
wherein R\u2032 and R\u2033 each independently represents linear alkyl or alkoxy having from 1 to 8 carbon atoms.
3. The cholesteric liquid crystal composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the \u03b3-oryzanol (A) is a mixture that contains at least one compound represented by the formula (a1) and at least one compound represented by the formula (a2):
wherein R1 represents branched alkyl or alkenyl having from 9 to 10 carbon atoms, and R2 represents branched alkyl or alkenyl having from 8 or 9 carbon atoms.

The cholesteric liquid crystal composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the hydrolysate of the \u03b3-oryzanol (A) is a mixture that contains at least one vegetable sterol selected from compounds represented by the formulae (a1-1) to (a1-4), and at least one triterpene alcohol selected from compounds represented by the formulae (a2-1) to (a2-4):
5. The cholesteric liquid crystal composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the cholesteric liquid crystal composition contains two or more esterified products selected from the group consisting of the esterified product (1), the esterified product (2) and the esterified product (3).
6. The cholesteric liquid crystal composition as claimed in claim 2, wherein
the cholesteric liquid crystal composition contains the esterified product (1), the esterified product (2) and the esterified product (3),
the esterified product (1) is an esterified product of the hydrolysate of the \u03b3-oryzanol (A) and the linear or branched and saturated or unsaturated aliphatic carboxylic acid compound having from 3 to 18 carbon atoms,
the esterified product (2) is an esterified product of the hydrogenated product of the hydrolysate of the \u03b3-oryzanol (A) and the carboxylic acid compound represented by the formula (b1), and
the esterified product (3) is an esterified product of the hydrogenated product of the \u03b3-oryzanol (A) and the linear or branched and saturated or unsaturated aliphatic carboxylic acid compound having from 3 to 18 carbon atoms.
7. The cholesteric liquid crystal composition as claimed in claim 2, wherein
the cholesteric liquid crystal composition contains the esterified product (1) and the esterified product (3),
the esterified product (1) contains an esterified product of the hydrolysate of the \u03b3-oryzanol (A) and the carboxylic acid compound represented by the formula (b1), and an esterified product of the hydrolysate of the \u03b3-oryzanol (A) and the linear or branched and saturated or unsaturated aliphatic carboxylic acid compound having from 3 to 18 carbon atoms, and
the esterified product (3) contains an esterified product of the hydrogenated product of the \u03b3-oryzanol (A) and the linear or branched and saturated or unsaturated aliphatic carboxylic acid compound having from 3 to 18 carbon atoms.
8. The cholesteric liquid crystal composition as claimed in claim 2, wherein
the cholesteric liquid crystal composition contains the esterified product (2) and the esterified product (3),
the esterified product (2) contains an esterified product of the hydrogenated product of the hydrolysate of the \u03b3-oryzanol (A) and the carboxylic acid compound represented by the formula (b1), and an esterified product of the hydrogenated product of the hydrolysate of the \u03b3-oryzanol (A) and the linear or branched and saturated or unsaturated aliphatic carboxylic acid compound having from 3 to 18 carbon atoms, and
the esterified product (3) contains an esterified product of the hydrogenated product of the \u03b3-oryzanol (A) and the linear or branched and saturated or unsaturated aliphatic carboxylic acid compound having from 3 to 18 carbon atoms.
9. The cholesteric liquid crystal composition as claimed in claim 2, wherein at least one of the carboxylic acid compound (B1), the carboxylic acid compound (B2) and the carboxylic acid compound (B3) is the linear or branched and saturated or unsaturated aliphatic carboxylic acid compound having 18 carbon atoms.
10. The cholesteric liquid crystal composition as claimed in claim 2, wherein the carboxylic acid compound (B1) is the linear or branched and saturated or unsaturated aliphatic carboxylic acid compound having 18 carbon atoms.
11. The cholesteric liquid crystal composition as claimed in claim 2, wherein the carboxylic acid compound (B2) is the linear or branched and saturated or unsaturated aliphatic carboxylic acid compound having 18 carbon atoms.
12. The cholesteric liquid crystal composition as claimed in claim 2, wherein the carboxylic acid compound (B3) is the linear or branched and saturated or unsaturated aliphatic carboxylic acid compound having 18 carbon atoms.
13. The cholesteric liquid crystal composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the cholesteric liquid crystal composition further contains (4) an esterified product of the \u03b3-oryzanol (A) and (B4) a carboxylic acid compound, wherein the carboxylic acid compound (B4) is a linear or branched and saturated or unsaturated aliphatic carboxylic acid compound having from 3 to 18 carbon atoms.
14. The cholesteric liquid crystal composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the cholesteric liquid crystal composition further contains (5) an esterified product of a vegetable sterol extracted from soybean and (B5) a carboxylic acid compound.
15. The cholesteric liquid crystal composition as claimed in claim 14, wherein the carboxylic acid compound (B5) is a linear or branched and saturated or unsaturated aliphatic carboxylic acid compound having from 3 to 18 carbon atoms, a carboxylic acid compound represented by the following formula (b3) or a carboxylic acid compound represented by the following formula (b4):
wherein R\u2032 and R\u2033 each independently represents linear alkyl or alkoxy having from 1 to 8 carbon atoms.
16. The cholesteric liquid crystal composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the \u03b3-oryzanol (A) contains the ferulate ester of a triterpene alcohol in an amount of 60% by weight or more.

The cholesteric liquid crystal composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the cholesteric liquid crystal composition further contains at least one solvent selected from the group consisting of a fatty acid ester, a hydrocarbon, a higher alcohol, a lower alcohol, a polyhydric alcohol, a silicone oil, a cyclic ether, a ketone, an amide, an amino acid and an organic amine.
18. A microcapsule comprising a core material containing the cholesteric liquid crystal composition as claimed in claim 1, covered with a shell material.
19. Use of the cholesteric liquid crystal composition as claimed in claim 1 as one selected from the group consisting of a liquid crystal pigment, a paint, a spray ink, a printing ink, cosmetics, an anticounterfeit printed matter and an ornament.
20. Cosmetics comprising the cholesteric liquid crystal composition as claimed in claim 1.
21. The cosmetics as claimed in claim 20, wherein the cosmetics further contain at least one selected from the group consisting of a body pigment, a colorant, an antioxidant, an antioxidation assistant, an ultraviolet ray absorbent, a sequestering agent, a surfactant, a storage stabilizer, an antiseptic, a diluent, a plasticizer, a moisturizing agent, a viscosity controlling agent, a feel improver, a thickener, a film-forming agent, an ester oil, a liquid oil or fat, a solid oil or fat, wax, a water-soluble polymer, a cyclic ether, a ketone, an amide, an amino acid, an organic amine, a polyhydric alcohol, a polysaccharide, a polymer emulsion, a pH controlling agent, a vitamin, a skin nutrient, a perfume, an extract and water.

a transceiver configured to transmit andor receive a message to andor from a wireless power receiver; and
a controller configured to control the transceiver to transmit a message for requesting identification information to the wireless power receiver, and determine whether the identification information is validly received from the wireless power receiver by the transceiver in response to the identification information request, and control the transceiver to transmit a message for requesting sleep mode switching to the wireless power receiver when the identification information is validly received by the transceiver.
2. The wireless power transmitter of claim 1, wherein the controller controls the transceiver to transmit a message for requesting identification information to the wireless power receiver again when the identification information is not validly received.
3. The wireless power transmitter of claim 1, wherein the controller is changed to a power transmission state when a response to the identification information request is not received any more.
4. The wireless power transmitter of claim 1, wherein the controller registers the identification information of the wireless power receiver.
5. The wireless power transmitter of claim 1, wherein the controller determines that the identification information is validly received when a first message for receiving identification information from the wireless power receiver is not collided with a second message for receiving identification information from another wireless power receiver.
6. A wireless power transmitter, comprising:
a transceiver configured to transmit andor receive a message to andor from a wireless power receiver; and
a controller configured to control the transceiver to transmit a message for requesting identification information to the wireless power receiver, and receive a message containing identification information from a first wireless power receiver in response to the identification information request, and transmit a message for requesting status information to the first wireless power receiver,
wherein the message for requesting status information comprises the identification information of the first wireless power receiver.
7. The wireless power transmitter of claim 6, wherein the controller controls the transceiver to receive a message containing status information from the first wireless power receiver in response to the identification information request from the wireless power receiver.
8. The wireless power transmitter of claim 7, wherein the controller comprises a controller configured to control the transceiver to receive a message containing identification information from a second wireless power receiver in response to the identification information request, and transmit a message for requesting status information to the second wireless power receiver, and
the message for requesting status information comprises the identification information of the second wireless power receiver.
9. The wireless power transmitter of claim 8, wherein the controller controls the transceiver to receive a message containing status information from the second wireless power receiver in response to the identification information request from the wireless power receiver.
10. The wireless power transmitter of claim 8, wherein the first identification information and the second identification information are different from each other.
11. The wireless power transmitter of claim 7, wherein the message containing status information further comprises the identification information of the first wireless power transmitter.
12. The wireless power transmitter of claim 6, wherein the controller registers the identification information of the wireless power receiver.
13. A wireless power transmitter, comprising:
a transceiver configured for transmitting andor receiving a message to andor from a wireless power receiver; and
a controller configured to control the transceiver to transmit a message for requesting identification information to the wireless power receiver, and determine whether the identification information is validly received from the first and the second wireless power receiver by the transceiver in response to the request, wherein the identification information is received through a time slot selected by the first and the second wireless power receiver, respectively, among a plurality of time slots, and change the time slot assigned to at least one of the first and the second wireless power receiver when the identification information is not validly received from the first and second wireless power receiver.
14. The wireless power transmitter of claim 13, wherein the controller transmits information on the changed time slot to at least one of the first and second wireless power receiver.
15. The wireless power transmitter of claim 13, wherein the controller controls the transceiver to transmit a message for the identification information to the wireless power receiver again.
16. The wireless power transmitter of claim 13, wherein the controller registers the identification information of the first and second wireless power receiver when the identification information is validly received from the first and second wireless power receiver.
17. The wireless power transmitter of claim 13, wherein the message for requesting identification information comprises the number of the plurality of time slots.
18. The wireless power transmitter of claim 17, wherein the controller waits for a period of time corresponding to the number of the plurality of time slots subsequent to transmitting the message for requesting identification information.
19. The wireless power transmitter of claim 13, wherein the controller is immediately changed to a power transmission state when identification information is validly received from the first and second wireless power receiver.
20. The wireless power transmitter of claim 13, wherein the controller changes a time slot assigned to at least one of the first and second wireless power receiver to a vacant time slot.
