1. An adhesive composition for use in an immunosensor, comprising:
an adhesive;
water;
a poloxamer; and
an anticoagulant.
2. The adhesive composition of claim 1, wherein the anticoagulant is selected from the group consisting of: heparin, citrate, ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, and oxalate.
3. The adhesive composition of claim 1, wherein the poloxamer comprises units derived from ethylene oxide and propylene oxide.
4. The adhesive composition of claim 3, wherein ethylene oxide and propylene oxide serve as the monomers in block copolymers.
5. The adhesive composition of claim 1, wherein the adhesive is pressure-sensitive.
6. The adhesive composition of claim 1, wherein the adhesive is heat-activated.
7. The adhesive composition of claim 1, wherein the adhesive is water soluble.
8. The adhesive composition of claim 1, wherein the adhesive is a sulfopolyester.
9. The adhesive composition of claim 1, wherein a concentration of the poloxamer with respect to the adhesive is approximately in the range of about 0.05 to about 0.5 percent.
10. The adhesive composition of claim 2, wherein a concentration of the heparin with respect to the adhesive is approximately in the range of about 0.1 to about 10 milligrams per milliliter.
11. The adhesive composition of claim 1, wherein the adhesive and the water are combined to form a mixture prior to being included with the poloxamer and the anticoagulant.

1. A control solution for use in testing an electrochemical system for measuring the amount of an analyte in a sample, the control solution comprising:
(a) a predetermined amount of said analyte; and
(b) a predetermined amount of an internal reference compound, said internal reference compound having a higher oxidation potential than said analyte, said predetermined amount of said internal reference compound being dependent upon said predetermined amount of analyte, the control solution being configured to be distinguished from the sample based on a Differential Index (DI), the predetermined amount of the internal reference compound being such that the control solution has a DI of at least 1.5, the DI being defined as DI=ihigh voltilow volt
where: ihigh volt is an electrical current resulting from the application of a first potential sufficient to oxidize said internal reference compound and said analyte, and ilow volt is an electrical current resulting from the application of a second potential sufficient to oxidize said analyte and insufficient to oxidize said internal reference compound,
the second potential being applied before the first potential during the same period.
2. The control solution of claim 1, further comprising a buffer, the internal reference compound being different from the buffer, the internal reference compound and the buffer being configured to serve different functions.
3. The control solution of claim 1, wherein the second potential and the first potential are applied without a waiting period therebetween.
4. The control solution of claim 1, wherein said analyte is glucose and said sample is whole blood.
5. The control solution of claim 4, wherein the glucose is configured to be oxidized by glucose oxidase, the control solution further comprising a buffer to maintain pH between 5 and 7.
6. The control solution of claim 4, wherein the glucose is configured to be oxidized by glucose dehydrogenase, the control solution further comprising a buffer to maintain pH between 6 and 8.
7. The control solution of claim 4, wherein said internal reference compound is an oxidizable organo-metallic compound, coordination compound, or organic amine compound.
8. The control solution of claim 7, wherein said internal reference compound is said oxidizable organo-metallic compound, said oxidizable organo-metallic compound being ferrocene or ferrocene derivatives.
9. The control solution of claim 7, wherein said internal reference compound is said coordination compound, said coordination compound being potassium ferrocyanide.
10. The control solution of claim 7, wherein said internal reference compound is said organic amine compound, said organic amine compound being 3-(N-morpholino) propane sulfonic acid, N-(2-hydroxyethyl) piperazine-N1-(2-ethane sulfonic acid), 2-(2-Hydroxy-1,1-bis(hydroxy methyl)ethylaminoethane sulfonic acid, 2-Morpholino ethane sulfonic acid, and Bis(2-hydroxyethyl)amino-tris(hydroxymethyl) methane Bis-Tris, 4-aminobenzonitrile, 4-aminobenzoic acid, or 4-iodoaniline.
11. The control solution of claim 10, wherein said internal reference is Bis-Tris.

1. An image forming device comprising:
an image forming unit to form a color image on an image forming medium if an operation mode is a color mode and to form a monochromatic image on the image forming medium if the operation mode is a monochromatic mode;
an identification unit to identify a division to which a user belongs who has requested image forming;
a division management unit to manage the number of pages having the image formed thereon for each division identified by the identification unit;
a color management unit to manage the number of pages having the image formed thereon in the color mode;
a control unit to execute the image forming in the monochromatic mode for a job requiring the monochromatic mode in the image forming unit without identifying the division by the identification unit, in a case where the division management unit and the color management unit are valid,
the control unit executing the image forming in the color mode in the image forming unit, if the division to which the user belongs is identified by the identification unit, in a case where the division management unit and the color management unit are valid, and the control unit executing the image forming in the color mode and monochromatic mode in the image forming unit if the division to which the user belongs is identified by the identification unit, in a case where the division management unit is valid and the color management unit is not valid.
2. The image forming device according to claim 1, further comprising:
a counting unit to count the number of pages having the image formed thereon in the color mode for each division identified by the identification unit, in a case where the division management unit is valid and the color management unit is valid.
3. The image forming device according to claim 2, further comprising:
a plurality of division counters to be associated with the divisions to which the users belong, respectively; and
wherein the counting unit counts the number of pages having the image formed thereon in the color mode by the division counter corresponding to the division identified by the identification unit, in a case where the division management unit is valid and the color management unit is valid.
4. The image forming device according to claim 3 further comprising:
a division undefined counter not to be associated with any one of the divisions, and
wherein the counting unit counts the number of pages having the image formed thereon in the monochromatic mode by the division unidentified counter, in a case where the division management unit is valid and the color management unit is valid.
5. A method of managing an image forming device, comprising:
accepting a request for image forming in a color mode or a request for image forming in monochromatic mode;
identifying a division to which a user belongs who has requested the accepted image forming;
executing the image forming in the monochromatic mode for a job requiring the monochromatic mode without identifying the division, in a case where a division management function which manages the number of pages having an image formed thereon for each division is valid and a color management function which manages the number of pages having an image formed thereon in the color mode is valid,
executing the image forming in the color mode and monochromatic mode in the image forming unit if the division to which the user belongs is identified by the identification unit, in a case where the division management function is valid and the color management function is not valid, and
counting the number of pages having the image formed thereon in the color mode for each identified division, in a case where the division management function is valid and the color management function is valid.
6. The method of managing the image forming device according to claim 5, further comprising:
counting the number of pages having the image formed thereon in the color mode for each identified division, in a case where the division management function is valid and the color management function is valid.
7. The method of managing the image forming device according to claim 6, wherein the counting includes:
counting the number of pages having the image formed thereon in the color mode by a division counter associated with the identified division, in a case where the division management function is valid and the color management function is valid.
8. The method of managing the image forming device according to claim 7 further comprising counting the number of pages having the image formed thereon in the monochromatic mode by a division unidentified counter not associated with any one of the divisions, in a case where the division management function is valid and the color management function is valid.
9. An image forming device comprising:
image forming means for forming a color image on an image forming medium if an operation mode is a color mode, and for forming a monochromatic image on the image forming medium if the operation mode is a monochromatic mode;
identification means for identifying a division to which a user belongs who has requested image forming;
division management means for managing the number of pages having the image formed thereon for each division identified by the identification means;
color management means for managing the number of pages having the image formed thereon in the color mode; and
control means for executing the image forming in the monochromatic mode for a job requiring the monochromatic mode in the image forming means without identifying the division by the identification means, in a case where the division management means and the color management means are valid,
the control means executing the image forming the color mode in the image forming means, if the division to which the user belongs is identified by the identification means, in a case where the division management means and the color management means are valid, and the control means executing the image forming in the color mode and the monochromatic mode in the image forming means if the division to which the user belongs is identified by the identification means, in a case where the division management means is valid and the color management means is not valid.
10. The image forming device according to claim 9, further comprising:
counting means for counting the number of pages having the image formed thereon in the color mode for each division identified by the identification means, in a case where the division management means is valid and the color management means is valid.
11. The image forming device according to claim 10, further comprising:
a plurality of division counters to be associated with the divisions to which the users belong, respectively; and
wherein the counting means counts the number of pages having the image formed thereon in the color mode by the division counter corresponding to the division identified by the identification means, in a case where the division management means is valid and the color management means is valid.
12. The image forming device according to claim 11 further comprising:
a division undefined counter not to be associated with any one of the divisions, and
wherein the counting means counts the number of pages having the image formed thereon in the monochromatic mode by the division unidentified counter, in a case where the division management means is valid and the color management means is valid.

1. A method of transmitting data, said method comprising:
providing an optical fiber network and at least one splice closure for connecting a subscriber to the network;
receiving a plurality of downstream wavelength streams from at least one first optical fiber stub, each wavelength stream corresponding to a separate downstream data transmission;
passing all downstream streams but at least one downstream targeted-wavelength stream to at least one second optical fiber stub;
routing the downstream targeted-wavelength stream to the subscriber on at least one optical drop fiber, wherein the first optical fiber stub, the second optical fiber stub, and the optical drop fiber are connected to a single mux device,
wherein the mux device is located outside of the splice closure and performs said steps of passing and routing, and wherein the mux device is pre-terminated with the first optical fiber stub and the second optical fiber stub;
splicing an end of the pre-terminated first optical fiber stub to the network and locating the spliced end of the first optical fiber stub within said splice closure; and
splicing an end of the pre-terminated second optical fiber stub to the network and locating the spliced end of the second optical fiber stub within said splice closure.
2. The method in accordance with claim 1 further comprising:
receiving from the subscriber an upstream targeted-wavelength steam; and
routing the received upstream targeted-wavelength stream to a fourth optical fiber stub.
3. The method in accordance with claim 2 further comprising:
receiving, from a third optical fiber stub, upstream wavelength streams other than the upstream targeted-wavelength stream; and
combining the received upstream targeted-wavelength stream with the received wavelength streams other than the upstream targeted-wavelength stream into a single output onto the fourth optical fiber stub.
4. The method in accordance with claim 1 further comprising:
receiving from the subscriber via the optical drop fiber an upstream targeted-wavelength stream;
routing, by the mux device, the received upstream targeted-wavelength stream to a fourth optical fiber stub, wherein the mux device is pre-terminated with the fourth optical fiber stub; and
splicing an end of the pre-terminated fourth optical fiber stub to the network and locating the spliced end of the fourth optical fiber stub within said splice closure.
5. The method in accordance with claim 1 further comprising:
receiving, from the subscriber, via the optical drop fiber, an upstream targeted-wavelength stream;
receiving, from a third optical fiber stub, upstream wavelength streams other than the received upstream targeted-wavelength stream;
combining, by the mux device, the received upstream targeted-wavelength stream with the received wavelength streams other than the received upstream targeted-wavelength into a single output onto a fourth optical fiber stub, wherein the mux device is pre-terminated with the third optical fiber stub and the fourth optical fiber stub;
splicing an end of the pre-terminated third optical fiber stub to the network and locating the spliced end of the third optical fiber stub within said splice closure; and
splicing an end of the pre-terminated fourth optical fiber stub to the network and locating the spliced end of the fourth optical fiber stub within said splice closure.
6. The method in accordance with claim 1 wherein the mux includes a connectorized port for connecting to the optical drop fiber.
7. A device comprising:
a mux device for adding and dropping desired wavelength streams:
a first optical fiber stub that is pre-terminated to the mux device and is-configured to receive a plurality of downstream wavelength streams from an optical fiber network, each wavelength stream corresponding to a separate downstream data transmission;
a second optical fiber stub that is pre-terminated to the mux device, wherein the mux device is configured to pass all streams but at least one downstream targeted-wavelength stream through the second optical fiber stub and to the ontical fiber network;
a port for connecting to a subscriber drop fiber and passing the downstream targeted-wavelength stream to the subscriber, wherein ends of the first and second optical fiber stubs are configured to be spliced to the network and located in a splice closure along the network while the mux device is located outside of the splice closure along the network;
another port configured to receive from the subscriber via a fiber an upstream targeted-wavelength stream;
a third optical fiber stub that is pre-terminated to the mux device and is configured to receive from the network upstream wavelength streams other than the upstream targeted-wavelength stream; and
a fourth optical fiber stub that is pre-terminated to the mux device, wherein the mux device is configured to output through the fourth optical fiber stub and to the network a combination of the received upstream targeted-wavelength stream and the received upstream wavelength streams other than the upstream targeted-wavelength stream, wherein respective ends of the third and fourth optical fiber stubs are spliced to the network and the spliced ends are located within in the splice closure.
