What is claimed is:

1. An ink jet printing apparatus comprising:
an ink droplet forming mechanism for ejecting a stream of ink droplets having a selected one of at least two different volumes toward a print medium;
a droplet deflector for producing a flow of gas that interacts with said ink droplet stream to separate ink droplets having said different volumes from one another, and
a gas flow conditioner for preconditioning with solvent vapor the gas flow produced by said droplet deflector.
2. The ink jet printing apparatus defined in a claim 1, wherein said apparatus is a continuous stream ink jet printer.
3. The ink jet printing apparatus defined in a claim 1, wherein said flow of gas produced by said droplet deflector is oriented transversely to said stream of ink droplets and functions to deflect smaller volume droplets from larger volume droplets.
4. The ink jet printing apparatus defined in a claim 1, further comprising a catcher for collecting one of said two different volumed ink droplets after said gas flow deflects droplets of one volume from droplets of a different volume.
5. The ink jet printing apparatus defined in a claim 1, wherein said solvent is water.
6. The ink jet printing apparatus defined in a claim 1, wherein said gas flow is a flow of air.
7. The ink jet printing apparatus defined in a claim 6, wherein said gas flow is a laminar flow of air.
8. The ink jet printing apparatus defined in a claim 1, wherein said gas flow conditioner includes a sensor responsive to a solvent concentration in said gas flow.
9. The ink jet printing apparatus defined in a claim 8, wherein said gas flow conditioner includes a control circuit connected to said sensor for adjusting a solvent addition rate to said gas flow to maintain a selected solvent concentration in said flow.
10. The ink jet printing apparatus defined in a claim 11, wherein said ink droplet forming mechanism includes a printhead with nozzles for ejecting said droplets and said gas flow conditioner preconditions said gas flow with sufficient solvent to reduce ink drying around said nozzles and to prevent substantial changes in ink viscosity.
11. A continuous stream ink printing apparatus, comprising:
an inkjet droplet forming mechanism for ejecting a stream of ink droplets having a selected one of at least two different volumes toward a print medium;
a droplet deflector for producing a flow of gas that transversely interacts with said droplet stream to separate ink droplets having said different volumes from one another, and
a gas flow conditioner for preconditioning with solvent vapor the gas flow produced by said droplet deflector.
12. The ink jet printing apparatus defined in a claim 11, wherein said ink jet droplet forming mechanism includes a printhead having at least one nozzle for ejecting said droplet stream, and said gas flow conditioner preconditions said gas flow with solvent sufficient to substantially reduce ink drying around said nozzles.
13. The ink jet printing apparatus defined in a claim 12, further comprising an ink recycling system for recaptured ink droplets, and wherein said gas flow conditioner preconditions said gas flow with solvent sufficient to substantially prevent a viscosity of ink forming said recaptured droplets from increasing.
14. The ink jet printing apparatus defined in a claim 12, wherein said printhead includes a heater disposed adjacent to said nozzle for controlling said droplet volume.
15. The ink jet printing apparatus defined in a claim 11, wherein said solvent is water.
16. The ink jet printing apparatus defined in a claim 11, wherein said gas flow is a flow of air.
17. The ink jet printing apparatus defined in a claim 11, wherein said gas flow is a flow of air.
18. The ink jet printing apparatus defined in a claim 17, wherein said gas flow conditioner includes a control circuit connected to said sensor for adjusting a solvent addition rate to said gas flow to maintain a selected solvent concentration in said flow.

1. A mount system for a portable radio, the mount system comprising:
a base member defining a support surface with a given perimeter and a skirt depending from the support surface over at least a portion of the given perimeter, wherein at least one connecting mechanism is defined by the base member;
a cover member including a plate member interconnected to the base member in a parallel arrangement by at least one adjustable connection element, where a first end of the adjustable connection element is coupled to the plate member and a second end of the adjustable connection element is coupled to the base member; and
a plurality of ribs extending in a first direction away from the support surface and in a second direction towards the skirt so that the plurality of ribs provide support to the support surface and the skirt, where
adjacent ones of the plurality of ribs have spaces therebetween through which air can flow to facilitate the transfer of heat, and
outer edges of the plurality of ribs and skirt define a contact plane against which a person or object can directly abut and which is spaced apart from the support surface so that direct heat transmission from the portable radio to the person or object is limited;

wherein the adjustable connection element facilitates an adjustment of a radio receiving space that is defined between the plate member and the support surface.
2. The mount system according to claim 1, wherein the cover member is adjustably interconnected to the base member such that height of the radio receiving space may be adjusted.
3. The mount system according to claim 2, wherein the adjustable connection element comprises at least two adjustable straps interconnecting the cover member to the base member.
4. The mount system according to claim 3, wherein each adjustable strap includes a first end interconnected to one of the cover member and the base member and a second end of the adjustable strap is passed through a buckle on the other of the cover member and the base member.
5. The mount system according to claim 3, wherein each adjustable strap is defined by an elastomeric strap connected at a first end to the base member and at a second end to the cover member.
6. The mount system according to claim 1, wherein the connecting mechanism includes at least one bore extending through the support surface and terminating in a screw receiving bore.
7. The mount system according to claim 1, wherein the connecting mechanism includes at least one slot defined through the skirt.

17. A mount system for a portable radio, the mount system comprising:
a base member defining a support surface with a given perimeter, whereby a skirt depends from the support surface over at least a portion of the given perimeter and a plurality of ribs extend in a first direction away from the support surface and in a second direction towards the skirt so that the plurality of ribs provide support to the support surface and skirt, wherein
adjacent ones of the plurality of ribs have spaces therebetween through which air can flow to facilitate the transfer of heat, and
lower edges of the ribs and the skirt define a contact surface spaced from the support surface and against which a person or object can directly abut with limited direct heat transmission from the portable radio thereto; and

a connection assembly configured to connect the portable radio to the support surface, the connection assembly comprising a cover member adjustably interconnected to the base member in a parallel arrangement by at least one adjustable connection element, where the adjustable connection element facilitates an adjustment of a radio receiving space that is defined between the base member and the cover member.

an extract from leaves of Clitoria ternatea comprising SPCs which have insecticidal activity andor which repel the insect pest andor deter the insect pest from laying eggs andor influence the position of egg laying andor deter the insect pest from feeding on a plant; and
one or more emulsifiers, wherein at least one of the one or more emulsifiers is non-natural, wherein a HPLC analysis of a methanolic extract of said composition produces a chromatogram comprising the major peaks present in the chromatogram of FIG. 1; and
wherein the Clitoria ternatea is at a pre-flower stage.
2. The composition of claim 1, further comprising a carrier.
3. A composition comprising:
a solvent selected from the group consisting of polar organic solvents, lower hydrocarbon solvents and low molecular weight oils;
an extract from leaves of Clitoria ternatea disposed in the solvent, the extract comprising secondary plant compounds (SPCs) which have insecticidal activity andor which repel an insect pest andor deter an insect pest from laying eggs andor influence the position of egg laying andor deter an insect pest from feeding on a plant; and
one or more emulsifiers, wherein at least one of the one or more emulsifiers is non-natural; and
wherein the Clitoria ternatea is at a pre-flower stage.
4. The composition as claimed in claim 3, further comprising one or more agriculturally acceptable excipients.
5. The composition as claimed in claim 3, wherein the composition comprises more than one emulsifier.
6. The composition as claimed in claim 3, wherein the plant is selected from the group consisting of cotton, a grain crop, a legume crop, a pulse crop, a vegetable crop and a fruit crop.
7. The composition as claimed in claim 3, wherein the plant is an ornamental plant.
8. The composition of claim 3, wherein the SPCs deter the insect pest from feeding on a plant.
9. The composition of claim 3, wherein the SPCs deter the insect pest from laying eggs.
10. The composition of claim 3, wherein the SPCs deter the insect pest from laying eggs and deter the insect pest from feeding on a plant.
11. The composition as claimed in claim 3, wherein the insect pest is selected from the group consisting of cotton bollworm, native budworm, green mirids, aphids, green vegetable bugs, apple dimpling bugs, plaque thrips, tobacco thrips, onion thrips, cotton thrips, western flower thrips, whiteflies, two spotted mites and leaf hoppers.
12. The composition as claimed in claim 3, wherein non-target insect species numbers are not significantly affected thereby conserving natural enemies of the insect pests to supplement control of insect infestation.
13. The composition as claimed in claim 3, wherein a HPLC analysis of a methanolic extract of said composition produces a chromatogram comprising the major peaks present in the chromatogram of FIG. 1.
14. The composition as claimed in claim 13, wherein the major peaks are present in the HPLC chromatogram of Fractions 2, 4 andor 6.
15. The composition as claimed in claim 14, wherein the major peaks have retentions times at about 4 minutes corresponding to the peak with the same retention time in the HPLC chromatogram of Fraction 2, at about 12 minutes corresponding to the two peaks with the same retention times in the HPLC chromatogram of Fraction 4, and at about 17 to about 19 minutes corresponding to the peaks with the same retention times in the HPLC chromatogram of Fraction 6.
16. The composition as claimed in claim 3, wherein the one or more emulsifiers is selected from the group consisting of a non-ionic, an anionic, a cationic surfactant, and a blend thereof.
17. The composition as claimed in claim 16, wherein the one or more emulsifiers is a non-ionic surfactant.
18. The composition as claimed in claim 3, wherein the one or more emulsifiers is selected from the group consisting of an ethoxylated ester of a fatty acid, an ethoxylated alkanol, a fatty acid, an ethoxylate of a vegetable oil or animal fat, an alkyl polysaccharide, and a combination thereof.
19. The composition as claimed in claim 3, further comprising a carrier.
20. The composition as claimed in claim 19, wherein the carrier is Canola oil.
21. The composition as claimed in claim 19, wherein the carrier is polyethylene glycol.
22. The composition as claimed in claim 19, wherein the carrier is a non-polar solvent or an oil.
23. The composition as claimed in claim 22, wherein the oil is canola oil or cotton seed oil.
24. The composition as claimed in claim 3, wherein the extract is from a whole plant of Clitoria ternatea.
25. The composition of claim 3, wherein the solvent is a polar organic solvent selected from the group consisting of alcohols, ketones, aldehydes and sulfoxides.
26. The composition of claim 25, wherein the polar organic solvent is methanol.
27. The composition of claim 25, wherein the polar organic solvent is ethanol.
28. A method for controlling insect pests of plants comprising treating a plant suffering from an infestation of insect pests or a plant prone to such infestations with the composition of claim 2.
29. A method as claimed in claim 28, further comprising one or more agriculturally acceptable excipients.
30. A method as claimed in claim 29, wherein the composition comprises more than one emulsifier.
31. A method as claimed in claim 28, wherein the composition further comprises a carrier; and wherein the carrier is a non-polar solvent or an oil.
32. A method as claimed in claim 31, wherein the oil is canola oil or cotton seed oil.
33. A method as claimed in claim 28, wherein said extract from Clitoria ternatea is an extract in a polar organic solvent.
34. A method as claimed in claim 33, wherein the polar organic solvent is selected from the group consisting of alcohols, ketones, aldehydes and sulfoxides.
35. A method as claimed in claim 34, wherein the polar organic solvent is an alcohol.
36. A method as claimed in claim 35, wherein the polar organic solvent is methanol.
37. A method as claimed in claim 35, wherein the polar organic solvent is ethanol.
38. A method as claimed in claim 28, wherein the plant is selected from the group consisting of cotton, a grain crop, a legume crop, a pulse crop, a vegetable crop and a fruit crop.
39. A method as claimed in claim 38, wherein the plant is an ornamental plant.
40. A method as claimed in claim 28, wherein the control of insect infestation is by reducing egg laying.
41. A method as claimed in claim 28, wherein the control of insect infestation is by deterrence of insect feeding.
42. A method as claimed in claim 28, wherein the control of insect infestation is by direct kill.
