1. A thermoplastic resin, having a main chain structure comprising:
a unit (A) by 25 mol % to 60 mol %, the unit (A) having a biphenyl group and being represented by general formula (1):
wherein X represents a bivalent substituent selected from the group consisting of O and CO;
a unit (B) by 25 mol % to 60 mol %, the unit (B) being represented by general formula (2):
-Y-R-Y-\u2003\u2003(2)
wherein R represents a bivalent linear substituent (a) whose number of atoms in its main chain length is 2 to 20 and (b) which is branched or not branched, and Y represents a bivalent substituent selected from the group consisting of O and CO; and
a unit (C) by 1 mol % to 25 mol %, the unit (C) being represented by general formula (3):
-Z1-A-Z2-\u2003\u2003(3)
wherein Z1 and Z2 represent a bivalent substituent(s) selected from the group consisting of O, NH, CO, S, and NHCO, and A represents a substituent selected from the group consisting of non-fused aromatic groups, fused aromatic groups, heterocyclic groups, alicyclic groups, and alicyclic heterocyclic groups, each of which has an effect of folding a main chain,
where a total amount of the units (A), (B), and (C) is 100 mol %.
2. The thermoplastic resin as set forth in claim 1, wherein X in the general formula (1) is O and Y in the general formula (2) is CO.
3. The thermoplastic resin as set forth in claim 1, wherein R of the thermoplastic resin is a linear aliphatic hydrocarbon chain.
4. The thermoplastic resin as set forth in claim 1, wherein R of the thermoplastic resin has a main chain length of an even number.
5. The thermoplastic resin as set forth in claim 1, wherein R of the thermoplastic resin is at least one selected from the group consisting of \u2014(CH2)8\u2014, \u2014(CH2)10\u2014, and \u2014(CH2)12\u2014.
6. The thermoplastic resin as set forth in claim 1, wherein A of the thermoplastic resin is any one of structures shown below.
7. The thermoplastic resin as set forth in claim 1, wherein the thermoplastic resin has a number average molecular weight of 3000 to 40000.
8. The thermoplastic resin as set forth in claim 1, wherein not less than 60 mol % of polymer chain ends are carboxyl groups.
9. The thermoplastic resin as set forth in claim 1, wherein the thermoplastic resin contains a lamellar crystal by not less than 10 vol %.
10. The thermoplastic resin as set forth in claim 1, wherein a thermal conductivity of the thermoplastic resin itself is not less than 0.6 W(m\xb7K).
11. A thermoplastic resin composition comprising:
a thermoplastic resin as set forth in claim 1; and
an inorganic filler.
12. The thermoplastic resin composition as set forth in claim 11, wherein the inorganic filler is an inorganic compound having a thermal conductivity of not less than 1 W(m\xb7K) by itself.
13. The thermoplastic resin composition as set forth in claim 11, wherein the inorganic filler is one or more electrically-insulative highly thermally conductive inorganic compounds selected from the group consisting of boron nitride, aluminum nitride, silicon nitride, aluminum oxide, magnesium oxide, magnesium carbonate, aluminum hydroxide, magnesium hydrate, beryllium oxide, and diamond.
14. The thermoplastic resin composition as set forth in claim 11, wherein the inorganic filler is one or more electrically-conductive highly thermally conductive inorganic compounds selected from the group consisting of graphite, electrically-conductive metal powder, soft magnetism ferrite, carbon fiber, electrically-conductive metal fiber, and zinc oxide.
15. A molded member produced from a thermoplastic resin composition as set forth in claim 11.

A method for treating a subject suffering from a disease or condition mediated by the regulation or inhibition of Syk kinase, wherein the disease or condition is selected from the group consisting of scleroderma, increased fibrosis, keloids, post-surgical scars, pulmonary fibrosis, vascular spasms, migraine, reperfusion injury, post myocardial infarction, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cardiobronchitis, post myocardial infarction, osteoarthritis, ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, idiopathic inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, spastic colon, inflammatory bowel disease, inflammation, and scarring, the method comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of a compound according to claim 1.
10. A method for treating a subject suffering from an allergic disease or condition mediated by the regulation or inhibition of Syk kinase, wherein the allergic disease or condition is selected from the group consisting of conjunctivitis, rhinitis, asthma, atopic dermatitis and food allergies, the method comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of a compound according to claim 1.
11. The compound according to claim 1 wherein the phenyl of R2 or R4 is trisubstituted at the 3, 4, and 5 positions.

The method of claim 1, wherein the color difference is calculated using a color differential between the first image element and the second image element, and wherein the color differential defines how closely a first color of the first image element matches a second color of the second image element.
3. The method of claim 1, wherein the background is assigned to an occlusion category based on the relative occlusion meeting a threshold.
4. The method of claim 1, further comprising:
determining a shape of the second image element, wherein the processing of the image is restricted to a region based on the shape.
5. The method of claim 1, wherein the processing of the image comprises processing the background only.
6. The method of claim 1, wherein the processing of the image comprises processing the foreground only.
7. The method of claim 1, further comprising generating an output image based on the processing of the image.
8. A system comprising:
a processor; and
a computer-readable storage medium having instructions stored which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising:
identifying a first image element of an image as a background and a second image element of the image as a foreground; and
processing the image based on a relative occlusion between the background and the foreground, wherein the relative occlusion is determined using a color difference between the first image element and the second image element.
9. The system of claim 8, wherein the color difference is calculated using a color differential between the first image element and the second image element, and wherein the color differential defines how closely a first color of the first image element matches a second color of the second image element.
10. The system of claim 8, wherein the background is assigned to an occlusion category based on the relative occlusion meeting a threshold.
11. The system of claim 8, the computer-readable storage medium having additional instructions stored which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising:
determining a shape of the second image element, wherein the processing of the image is restricted to a region based on the shape.
12. The system of claim 8, wherein the processing of the image comprises processing the background only.
13. The system of claim 8, wherein the processing of the image comprises processing the foreground only.
14. The system of claim 8, the computer-readable storage medium having additional instructions stored which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising generating an output image based on the processing of the image.
15. A computer-readable storage device having instructions stored which, when executed by a computing device, cause the computing device to perform operations comprising:

1. A crimping apparatus for use with a crimping machine, the crimping apparatus comprising:
a support structure including a first portion and a second portion, wherein the second portion is configured to engage the first portion to define an axial passage into an interior area of the crimping apparatus and the second portion is configured to be moved completely out of engagement with the first portion to selectively define an alternative passage into the interior area of the crimping apparatus.
2. The crimping apparatus of claim 1, further comprising a plurality of die members movably attached to the support structure and radially arranged about an axis of the crimping apparatus.
3. The crimping apparatus of claim 2, wherein each die member comprises a crimping member.
4. The crimping apparatus of claim 2, wherein each die member comprises a retainer including an engagement structure configured to removably connect a crimping member to the retainer.
5. The crimping apparatus of claim 4, wherein each die member further comprises a crimping member configured to be removably connected to the retainer of the corresponding die member by the engagement structure of the corresponding retainer.
6. The crimping apparatus of claim 2, wherein the crimping apparatus is configured to be removably positioned with respect to a crimping machine while the die members remain movably attached to the support structure.
7. The crimping apparatus of claim 2, wherein the plurality of die members include at least a first die member movably attached to the first portion of the support structure and at least a second die member movably attached to the second portion of the support structure.
8. The crimping apparatus of claim 1, further comprising a registration structure configured to facilitate a predetermined orientation between the first and second portions of the support structure.
9. The crimping apparatus of claim 8, wherein the registration structure comprises a groove and a tongue configured to be at least partially received by the groove.

The crimping apparatus of claim 1, further comprising a connecting structure configured to permit mounting of the crimping apparatus to a crimping machine to substantially inhibit a relative movement between the crimping apparatus and a portion of a crimping machine along a direction that is substantially parallel to an axis of the crimping apparatus.

The crimping apparatus of claim 10, wherein the connecting structure is further configured to permit dismounting of the crimping apparatus from a crimping machine by permitting a relative movement between the crimping apparatus and a portion of a crimping machine along a direction that is substantially perpendicular to the axis of the crimping apparatus.

The crimping apparatus of claim 10, wherein the connecting structure comprises a first connecting member and a second connecting member, wherein the first portion of the support structure is provided with the first connecting member and the second portion of the support structure is provided with the second connecting member.
13. A crimping apparatus for use with a crimping machine, the crimping apparatus comprising:
a support structure including a first portion comprising a first rear member attached to a first front member, and a second portion comprising a second rear member attached to a second front member, wherein the first front member is configured to engage the second front member to define an axial passage into an interior area of the crimping apparatus and the second portion is configured to be moved completely out of engagement with the first portion to selectively define an alternative passage into the interior area of the crimping apparatus.
14. The crimping apparatus of claim 13, further comprising a plurality of die members movably attached to the support structure and radially arranged about an axis of the crimping apparatus.
15. The crimping apparatus of claim 13, further comprising a registration structure configured to facilitate a predetermined orientation between the first and second portions of the support structure.
16. The crimping apparatus of claim 15, wherein the registration structure comprises a groove and a tongue configured to be at least partially received by the groove.
17. The crimping apparatus of claim 13, further comprising a connecting structure configured to permit mounting of the crimping apparatus to a crimping machine to substantially inhibit a relative movement between the crimping apparatus and a portion of a crimping machine along a direction that is substantially parallel to an axis of the crimping apparatus.
18. The crimping apparatus of claim 17, wherein the connecting structure is further configured to permit dismounting of the crimping apparatus from a crimping machine by permitting a relative movement between the crimping apparatus and a portion of a crimping machine along a direction that is substantially perpendicular to the axis of the crimping apparatus.

The crimping apparatus of claim 17, wherein the connecting structure comprises a first connecting member and a second connecting member, wherein the first portion of the support structure is provided with the first connecting member and the second portion of the support structure is provided with the second connecting member.
