1. A method for detecting the presence of an object caught between a closure and its respective frame of a power system comprising:
providing a closure for opening and closing via a regulator driven by an electric drive motor controlled by a control circuit;
calculating a predicted variable parameter value utilizing a system equation, said system equation including a number of coefficients which are multiplied by a number of different parameter values measured over a period of time, such that said predicted variable parameter value for any one of a series of different times is based upon a plurality of measured parameter values measured over a period of time;
sensing a variable parameter value of the power system during closing of the closure;
comparing said sensed variable parameter value to a previously predicted variable parameter value based upon a presumption of how said predicted variable parameter value would behave without the presence of an object; and
detecting an object caught between the closure and its respective frame based on the result of the compared parameter values.
2. The method as recited in claim 1, wherein the closure is a side window mounted in a vehicle door frame.
3. The method as recited in claim 1, wherein the sensed or predicted parameter is the speed of said drive motor.
4. The method as recited in claim 1, wherein said coefficients are calculated utilizing information from a movement cycle of said closure wherein no object is detected, and utilizing sensed parameter values during said movement cycle to calculate said coefficients.
5. The method as recited in claim 1, wherein said predicted values are initialized by values taken from actual values after motion.
6. The method as recited in claim 1, wherein at least some of said variable parameter values during different periods during the movement, occur during a current path of movement of said closure.
7. A method for detecting the presence of an object caught between a closure and its respective frame of a power system comprising:
providing a closure for opening and closing via being driven by an electric drive motor controlled by a control circuit;
calculating a variable parameter value utilizing a system equation, said system equation including a number of coefficients which are multiplied by a number of different parameter values measured over a period of time, such that said variable parameter value for any one of a series of different times is based upon a plurality of measured parameter values measured over a period of time;
sensing a variable parameter value of the power system during closing of the closure;
comparing said sensed variable parameter value to a previously calculated variable parameter value based upon a presumption of how said predicted variable parameter value would behave without the presence of an object; and
detecting an object caught between the closure and its respective frame based on the result of the compared parameter values.
8. The method as recited in claim 7, wherein the closure is a side window mounted in a vehicle door frame.
9. The method as recited in claim 7, wherein the sensed or predicted parameter is the speed of said drive motor.
10. The method as recited in claim 7, wherein said coefficients are calculated utilizing information from a movement cycle of said closure wherein no object is detected, and utilizing sensed parameter values during said movement cycle to calculate said coefficients.
11. The method as recited in claim 7, wherein said predicted values are initialized by values taken from actual values after motion.
12. The method as recited in claim 7, wherein at least some of said variable parameter values during different periods during the movement, occur during a current path of movement of said closure.
13. A method for controlling activation of a motor for moving a window or panel along a path of travel and de-activating the motor if an obstacle is encountered during movement of the window or panel along its path of travel, the method comprising:
measuring a parameter of the motor that varies in response to the window or panel encountering an obstacle while moving along its path of travel;
calculating a threshold value utilizing a system equation, said system equation including a number of coefficients which are multiplied by a number of different parameter values measured over a period of time, such that said threshold value for any one of a series of different times is based upon a plurality of measured parameter values measured over a period of time;
sensing a value of the parameter during movement of the window or panel along its path of travel; and
determining if an obstacle has been encountered by the window or panel by comparing the sensed parameter value to the previously calculated threshold value based upon a presumption of how said calculated threshold value would behave without encountering an obstacle.
14. The method as recited in claim 13, wherein the window or panel is a side window mounted in a vehicle door frame.
15. The method as recited in claim 13, wherein the sensed parameter value or the calculated threshold value is the speed of the motor.
16. The method as recited in claim 13, wherein the calculated threshold value is calculated utilizing information from a movement cycle of the panel or window wherein no obstacle is encountered, and utilizing sensed parameter values during said movement cycles to calculate said coefficients.
17. The method as recited in claim 13, wherein said calculated threshold values are initialized by values taken from actual sensed parameter values after motion of the window or panel.
18. The method as recited in claim 13, wherein at least some of the plurality of said sensed parameter values during different periods during the movement, occurring a current path of movement of the window or panel.
19. A power closure system comprising:
a closure opening and closing via a regulator that is driven by an electric drive motor which is controlled by a motor control circuit;
a sensor for sensing a variable parameter value of the power system; and
a digital control circuit in communication with said sensor for comparing the sensed variable parameter value during closing of the closure to a previously predicted variable parameter value calculated utilizing a system equation which includes coefficients multiplied by parameter values from various locations through a path of movement of said closure and providing an indication of how said predicted variable parameter value would behave without the presence of an object in order to detect an object caught between the closure and its respective frame based on the result of the compared parameter values.
20. The system as recited in claim 19, wherein the closure is a side window mounted in a vehicle door frame.
21. The system as recited in claim 19, wherein the sensed or predicted parameter is the speed of said drive motor.
22. The system as recited in claim 19, wherein said coefficients are calculated utilizing information from a movement cycle of said closure wherein no object is detected, and utilizing sensed parameter values during said movement cycle to calculate said coefficients.
23. The system as recited in claim 19, wherein said predicted values are initialized by values taken from actual values after motion.
24. A system as set forth in claim 19, wherein at least some of said variable parameter values during different periods during the movement, occur during a cuffent path of movement of said closure.

1. A system for creating verification and characterization information for a first display device for use with a second display device comprising:
a computer readable medium in communications with said first display device;
an electronic image file stored in said computer readable medium representing a visual image;
a set of luminance values associated with said first display device embodied in said computer readable medium;
a lookup table embodied in said computer readable medium having luminance values and represented by an array of floating point number mapped to a grey scale; and,
a set of computer readable instructions embodied in said computer readable medium for initializing said lookup table to default value, initializing said luminance values to a default value, mapping said lookup table to a gray ramp, adjusting said lookup table according to said gray ramp mapping, adjusting said luminance values according to said gray ramp, associating said adjusted lookup table, containing said adjusted luminance values, with said electronic image so that said luminance values can be transmitted to said second display device with said electronic image when said electronic image is transmitted to said second display so that said second display device can verify that said electronic image is being properly displayed.
2. The system of claim 1 wherein said computer readable instructions include instructions for measuring RGB color map information, determining an ICC profile according to said gray ramp and said RGB color map information, associating said ICC profile with said electronic image so that said ICC profile can be transmitted to said second display device with said electronic image for verification that said second display device can correctly display said electronic image.
3. The system of claim 2 wherein said computer readable instructions include instructions for receiving from said second display device information representing whether said second display can correctly display said electronic image according to said ICC profile and notifying a user of said first display device if said second display device cannot correctly display said electronic image.
4. The system of claim 1 wherein said set of computer readable instructions include instructions for initializing color temperature values of said first display device and associating said color temperature values with said electronic image so that said color temperature values can be transmitted to a second display device with said electronic image for verification that said second display device can correctly display said electronic image.
5. The system of claim 4 wherein said computer readable instructions include instructions for receiving from said second display device information representing whether said second display can correctly display said electronic image according to said color temperature values and notifying a user of said first display device if said second display device cannot correctly display said electronic image.
6. The system of claim 4 wherein said computer readable instructions include instructions for determining whether said color temperature values exceed a predetermined level and displaying a warning that said color temperature values exceed said predetermined level.
7. The system of claim 4 wherein said computer readable instructions include instructions for determining whether said color temperature values exceed a predetermined level and modifying said color temperature values if said color temperature values exceed said predetermined level.
8. The system of claim 1 wherein said computer readable instructions include instructions for receiving from said second display device information representing whether said second display can correctly display said electronic image according to said luminance values and notifying a user of said first display device if said second display device cannot correctly display said electronic image.
9. The system of claim 1 wherein said computer readable instructions include instructions for measuring said gray ramp at approximately 33 distinct intervals between 0% black and 100% white.
10. The system of claim 1 wherein said computer readable instructions include instructions for transmitting said luminance values associated with said electronic image to said second display device so it can be determined if said second display device can display said electronic image using said luminance values.
11. The system of claim 1 wherein said computer readable instructions include instructions for determining whether said luminance values exceed a predetermined level and displaying a warning that said luminance level exceeds said predetermined level.
12. The system of claim 1 wherein said computer readable instructions include instructions for determining whether said luminance value exceeds a predetermined level and reducing said luminance level of said first display device if said luminance level exceeds said predetermined level.
