1. A mold for forming a molding member on a package, comprising:
an upper surface;
a lower surface having an outer peripheral surface and a concave surface surrounded by the outer peripheral surface; and
injection and discharge holes extending from the upper surface to the lower surface; and
a protrusion provided on an edge of the outer peripheral surface to surround a sidewall of the package.
2. The mold as claimed in claim 1, wherein the injection and discharge holes extend from the upper surface to the outer peripheral surface of the lower surface.
3. The mold as claimed in claim 2, wherein the injection and discharge holes are positioned to be opposite to each other with the concave surface being interposed therebetween.
4. The mold as claimed in claim 1, wherein the outer peripheral surface is substantially flat.
5. The mold as claimed in claim 1, wherein the outer peripheral surface of the lower surface surrounds the injection and discharge holes.
6. A method of forming a molding member, comprising:
preparing a mold including an upper surface, a lower surface having an outer peripheral surface and a concave surface surrounded by the outer peripheral surface, injection and discharge holes extending from the upper surface to the lower surface, and a protrusion provided on an edge of the outer peripheral surface;
preparing a package having an LED (Light Emitting Diode) mounted thereon;
coupling the package and the mold so that the concave surface covers the LED, the outer peripheral surface is adjacent to an upper surface of the package, an edge portion of the package adjacent to the discharge hole is directed upward, and an other edge portion opposite to the edge portion of the package body is directed downward; and
injecting a molding material into the injection hole,
wherein the protrusion provided on an edge of the outer peripheral surface surrounds the sidewall of the package.
7. The method as claimed in claim 6, wherein the injection and discharge holes extend from the upper surface to the outer peripheral surface of the mold.
8. The method as claimed in claim 7, wherein the injection and discharge holes are positioned to be opposite to each other with the concave surface being interposed therebetween.
9. The method as claimed in claim 6, wherein the injection hole is formed to be substantially perpendicular to an upper surface of the package or inclined upward from the lower surface to the upper surface of the mold, when the mold and the package are coupled.
10. The method as claimed in claim 7, wherein the outer peripheral surface is substantially flat.
11. The method as claimed in claim 6, wherein the preparation of the package having the LED mounted thereon comprises:
preparing a lead frame having lead electrodes;
forming on the lead frame a package body with a recess exposing the lead electrodes, wherein the lead electrodes protrude out of the package body;
mounting the LED in the recess region; and
electrically connecting the LED with the lead electrodes.
12. The method as claimed in claim 11, wherein the package body is formed to have a guide groove for guiding the molding material injected through the injection hole to the recess and a guide groove for guiding inner gas to the discharge hole.
13. The method as claimed in claim 11, further comprising:
coupling a heat sink to the package body after the formation of the package body,
wherein an upper surface of the heat sink protrudes into the recess region, and the LED is mounted on the upper surface of the heat sink.
14. The method as claimed in claim 11, further comprising:
coupling a heat sink to the lead frame prior to the formation of the package body, wherein the LED is mounted on an upper surface of the heat sink.
15. The method as claimed in claim 11, wherein coupling the package and the mold comprises:
inserting a lower part of the package body into a recess of a lower jig, wherein the lead frame is seated on an upper surface of the lower jig;
covering the lower jig and the lead frame using a cover seat, the cover seat having a through-hole through which the package body is allowed to pass for an upper part of the package body to protrude upward from the cover seat;
arranging the mold on the package body;
pressing the mold against the package body using an upper jig having a through-hole for exposing the injection and discharge holes of the mold therethrough; and
fixing the mold by coupling the upper jig and the lower jig.
16. The method as claimed in claim 15, wherein coupling the package and the mold further comprises rotating the jigs after the upper and lower jigs are coupled.
17. The mold as claimed in claim 15, wherein the outer peripheral surface of the lower surface surrounds the injection and discharge holes.

What is claimed is:

1. A wrapping material for a smoking article, the wrapping material adapted to be wound on a roll, the wrapping material comprising:
a smoking article wrapping material substrate; and
a plurality of coatings deposited in a pattern on the substrate; the plurality of coatings comprising a first coating effective in reducing the inherent porosity of the substrate and a second coating effective in preventing blocking when the wrapping material is unwound from the roll, the second coating overlying the first coating.
2. The wrapping material of claim 1, wherein the plurality of coatings comprise four coatings applied to the wrapping material substrate in an overlying relationship, at least one of the coatings being discontinuous.
3. The wrapping material of claim 2 wherein the plurality of coatings comprise three coatings including ethylene vinylacetate, one of those coatings being discontinuous; and one coating including ethylcellulose overlying the three ethylene vinylacetate coatings.
4. The wrapping material of claim 1 wherein the first coating includes ethylene vinylacetate and the second coating includes ethylcellulose.
5. The wrapping material of claim 1 wherein at least one of the coatings is a film-forming material that includes ethylcellulose, polyvinylacetate, nitrocellulose, cellulose acetate propionate or ethylene vinylacetate.
6. The wrapping material of claim 1 wherein the first coating is a film-forming material that includes ethylcellulose, polyvinylacetate, nitrocellulose, cellulose acetate propionate or ethylene vinylacetate.
7. The wrapping material of claim 1 wherein the second coating is a film-forming material that includes ethylcellulose, polyvinylacetate, nitrocellulose, cellulose acetate propionate or ethylene vinylacetate.
8. The wrapping material of claim 1 wherein the first coating is a film-forming material that includes ethylcellulose and calcium carbonate.
9. The wrapping material of claim 1 wherein at least one of the coatings includes calcium carbonate.
10. The wrapping material of claim 1 wherein at least one of the coatings includes an organic filler that includes rice flour or polyvinyl alcohol.
11. The wrapping material of claim 1 further comprising a hydrophobic coating applied to the wrapping material substrate prior to said first and second coatings, the first coating provided from a water-based emulsion, and the first coating overlying the hydrophobic coating.
12. A wrapping material for a smoking article, the wrapping material adapted to be wound on a roll, the wrapping material comprising:
a smoking article wrapping material substrate; and
at least two coatings deposited in a pattern on the substrate; the at least two coatings comprising a first coating being deposited directly onto the wrapping material substrate and being effective to reduce the water absorption of the substrate; and a water-based second coating deposited on the first coating, the second coating being effective to cause a reduction in inherent porosity of the substrate.
13. The wrapping material of claim 12 wherein the first coating is a film-forming material that includes ethylcellulose, polyvinylacetate, nitrocellulose, cellulose acetate propionate or ethylene vinylacetate.
14. The wrapping material of claim 12 wherein the second coating is a film-forming material that includes polyvinylalcohol, ethylene vinylacetate, or combinations thereof.
15. The wrapping material of claim 12 further comprising a third coating overlying the second coating, the third coating being effective in preventing blocking when the wrapping material is unwound from a roll.
16. The wrapping material of claim 15 wherein the first and third coatings include ethylcellulose and the second coating includes ethylene vinylacetate.
17. A wrapping material for a smoking article, the wrapping material adapted to be wound on a roll, the wrapping material comprising:
a smoking article wrapping material substrate; and
at least three coatings deposited in a pattern on the substrate, the at least three coatings comprising a first coating incorporating ethylcellulose and being modified to be hazy in appearance, a second coating overlying the first coating and being effective in causing reduction in inherent porosity of the substrate, and a third coating overlying the second coating and being effective in preventing blocking when the wrapping material is unwound from the roll.
18. The wrapping material of claim 17 wherein the first coating is a blend of ethylcellulose and ethylene vinylacetate.
19. A smoking article comprising a smokable material contained within the wrapping material of claim 1, 12 or 17.
20. The smoking article of claim 19 wherein at least one of the coatings is a film-forming material that includes ethylcellulose, polyvinylacetate, polyvinylalcohol, nitrocellulose, cellulose acetate propionate or ethylene vinylacetate.
21. The smoking article of claim 19 wherein the coating pattern has the form of spaced bands, each band having a width of about 6 mm.
22. A wrapping material for a smoking article, the wrapping material comprising:
a base sheet possessing a major surface; and
a plurality of bands applied to the major surface in the form of a pattern; each band of the plurality of bands including a bottom layer applied over the major surface of the base sheet, and an upper layer applied over the bottom layer; the bottom layer incorporating ethylcellulose and the upper layer incorporating polyvinylacetate.
23. The wrapping material of claim 22 wherein each band has a width of about 6 mm.
24. A wrapping material for a smoking article, the wrapping material comprising:
a base sheet possessing a major surface; and
a plurality of bands applied to the major surface in the form of a pattern; each band of the plurality of bands including a bottom layer applied over the major surface of the base sheet, a middle layer applied over the bottom layer, and an upper layer applied over the middle layer; the bottom and upper layers incorporating ethylcellulose, and the middle layer incorporating ethylene vinylacetate.
25. The wrapping material of claim 24 wherein each band has a width of about 6 mm.
26. A wrapping material for a smoking article, the wrapping material comprising:
a base sheet possessing a major surface; and
a plurality of bands applied to the major surface in the form of a pattern; each band of the plurality of bands including a bottom layer applied over the major surface of the base sheet, a middle layer applied over the bottom layer, and an upper layer applied over the middle layer; the upper layer incorporating ethylcellulose, and the bottom and middle layers incorporating ethylene vinylacetate.
27. The wrapping material of claim 26 wherein each band has a width of about 6 mm.
28. A wrapping material for a smoking article, the wrapping material comprising:
a base sheet possessing a major surface; and
a plurality of bands applied to that major surface in the form of a pattern; each band of the plurality of bands including a bottom layer applied over the major surface of the base sheet, a bottom middle layer applied over the bottom layer, an upper middle layer applied over the bottom middle layer, and an upper layer applied over the upper middle layer; the bottom middle and upper middle layers incorporating ethylene vinylacetate, and the bottom and upper layers incorporating ethylcellulose.
29. The wrapping material of claim 28 wherein each band has a width of about 6 mm.
30. A wrapping material for a smoking article, the wrapping material comprising:
a base sheet possessing a major surface; and
a plurality of bands applied to that major surface in the form of a pattern; each band of the plurality of bands including a bottom layer applied over the major surface of the base sheet, a bottom middle layer applied over the bottom layer, an upper middle layer applied over the bottom middle layer, and an upper layer applied over the upper middle layer; each bottom, bottom middle and upper middle layer incorporating ethylene vinylacetate, and the upper layer incorporating ethylcellulose.
31. The wrapping material of claim 30 wherein each band has a width of about 6 mm.
32. A wrapping material for a smoking article, the wrapping material comprising:
a base sheet possessing a major surface; and
a plurality of bands applied to the major surface in the form of a pattern; each band of the plurality of bands including a bottom layer applied over the major surface of the base sheet, and an upper layer applied over the bottom layer; each layer incorporating ethylcellulose and calcium carbonate.
33. The wrapping material of claim 32 wherein each band has a width of about 6 mm.
34. A wrapping material for a smoking article, the wrapping material comprising:
a base sheet possessing a major surface; and
a plurality of bands applied to the major surface in the form of a pattern; each band of the plurality of bands including a bottom layer applied over the major surface of the base sheet, a middle layer applied over the bottom layer, and an upper layer applied over the middle layer; each layer incorporating ethylcellulose and calcium carbonate.
35. The wrapping material of claim 34 wherein each band has a width of about 6 mm.
36. A wrapping material for a smoking article, the wrapping material comprising:
a base sheet possessing a major surface; and
a plurality of bands applied to that major surface in the form of a pattern; each band of the plurality of bands including a bottom layer applied over the major surface of the base sheet, a bottom middle layer applied over the bottom layer, an upper middle layer applied over the bottom middle layer, and an upper layer applied over the upper middle layer; each layer incorporating ethylcellulose and calcium carbonate.
37. The wrapping material of claim 36 wherein each band has a width of about 6 mm.
38. A wrapping material for a smoking article, the wrapping material comprising:
a base sheet possessing a major surface; and
a plurality of bands applied to the major surface in the form of a pattern; each band of the plurality of bands including a bottom layer applied over the major surface of the base sheet, and an upper layer applied over the bottom layer; each layer incorporating ethylene vinyl acetate and calcium carbonate.
39. The wrapping material of claim 38 wherein each band has a width of about 6 mm.
40. A wrapping material for a smoking article, the wrapping material comprising:
a base sheet possessing a major surface; and
a plurality of bands applied to the major surface in the form of a pattern; each band of the plurality of bands including a bottom layer applied over the major surface of the base sheet, a middle layer applied over the bottom layer, and an upper layer applied over the middle layer; each layer incorporating ethyl vinyl acetate and calcium carbonate.
41. The wrapping material of claim 40 wherein each band has a width of about 6 mm.
42. A wrapping material for a smoking article, the wrapping material comprising:
a base sheet possessing a major surface; and
a plurality of bands applied to the major surface in the form of a pattern; each band of the plurality of bands including a bottom layer applied over the major surface of the base sheet, a bottom middle layer applied over the bottom layer, an upper middle layer applied over the bottom middle layer, and an upper layer applied over the upper middle layer; each layer incorporating ethylene vinyl acetate and calcium carbonate.
43. The wrapping material of claim 42 wherein each band has a width of about 6 mm.
44. A wrapping material for a smoking article, the wrapping material comprising:
a base sheet possessing a major surface; and
a plurality of bands applied to the major surface in the form of a pattern; each band of the plurality of bands including a bottom layer applied over the major surface of the base sheet, and an upper layer applied over the bottom layer; each layer incorporating nitrocellulose and calcium carbonate.
45. The wrapping material of claim 44 wherein each band has a width of about 6 mm.
46. A wrapping material for a smoking article, the wrapping material comprising:
a base sheet possessing a major surface; and
a plurality of bands applied to that major surface in the form of a pattern; each band of the plurality of bands including a bottom layer applied over the major surface of the base sheet, a middle layer applied over the bottom layer, and an upper layer applied over the middle layer; each layer incorporating nitrocellulose and calcium carbonate.
47. The wrapping material of claim 46 wherein each band has a width of about 6 mm.
48. The wrapping material of claim 30 wherein the bottom and bottom middle layers both are continuous layers, and the upper middle layer is a discontinuous layer.
49. A smoking article comprising a smokable material contained within the wrapping material of claims 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32, 34, 36, 38, 40, 42, 44 or 46.

1. An electrical connector comprising:
a housing having a terminal supporting member and a space at a base portion of the terminal supporting member;
a plurality of terminals attached to the housing and arranged on the terminal supporting member in parallel;
a latch member arranged on the terminal supporting member in parallel to the terminals for locking a mating connector; and
a housing cover attached to the housing for covering a part of the housing, said housing cover including a cylindrical portion for covering the terminal supporting member, said cylindrical portion including a base portion held in the space.
2. The electrical connector according to claim 1, wherein said terminal supporting member extends in a first direction toward the mating connector, said terminals and said latch member being arranged along the first direction.
3. The electrical connector according to claim 1, wherein said housing includes the space extending toward inside the housing.
4. The electrical connector according to claim 2, wherein said housing further includes thick wall portions extending at left and right sides of the terminal supporting member along the first direction so that the space surrounds at least circumferences of the thick wall portions.
5. The electrical connector according to claim 1, wherein said terminal supporting member includes one surface facing the space and the other surface opposite to the one surface with the terminals arranged thereon.
6. The electrical connector according to claim 1, wherein each of said terminals includes a contact piece arranged on the terminal supporting member in a state that a substantially upper half thereof is exposed.
7. The electrical connector according to claim 6, wherein said housing further includes an upper surface having terminal holes for exposing the contact pieces; a latch receiving portion for receiving the latch member; and a lower supporting column so that the space surrounds a whole circumference of the housing except the upper surface, the latch receiving portion, and the lower supporting column.
8. The electrical connector according to claim 2, wherein said cylindrical portion includes a slit opened at the base portion of the cylindrical portion and closed at a front portion thereof, said slit extending along the first direction.
9. The electrical connector according to claim 1, wherein said terminal supporting member is integrated with the housing.
10. The electrical connector according to claim 1, wherein said housing cover further includes a first cover portion having the cylindrical portion and a second cover portion separate from the first cover portion.
11. The electrical connector according to claim 1, wherein said housing cover is formed of one metal plate punched out and bent.
12. The electrical connector according to claim 1, wherein said terminal supporting member has a plate shape.
13. The electrical connector according to claim 2, wherein said cylindrical portion includes a protruding portion extending in a direction perpendicular to the first direction.

1. A mass storage device comprising:
a host bus adaptor configured to emulate a SATA device over a PCIe link; and
a SATA storage device, coupled to the host bus adaptor, configured to respond to SATA commands from the host bus adaptor.
2. The device of claim 1 wherein the SATA storage device is a solid state drive.
3. The device of claim 2 wherein the solid state drive is comprised of one of flash memory, MRAM, or 3D memory.
4. The device of claim 1 wherein the SATA storage device is one of an optical drive or a magnetic disk drive.
5. The device of claim 1 wherein the host bus adaptor comprises an Advanced Host Control Interface (AHCI) Host Bus Adaptor (HBA) emulator.
6. The device of claim 5 wherein the AHCI HBA emulator comprises a hardware interface configured to interface host system software with the SATA storage device.
7. The device of claim 1 wherein the SATA storage device comprises storage media configured to store data and a media manager coupled to the storage media for controlling operations of the storage media.
8. A PCIe mass storage device comprising:
an Advanced Host Control Interface (AHCI) Host Bus Adaptor (HBA) emulator configured to emulate a SATA HBA over a PCIe link; and
storage media for storing and retrieving data in response to the AHCI HBA, the storage media comprising a media manager configured to control operation of the storage media.
9. The device of claim 8 wherein the AHCI HBA emulator comprises:
a PCIe physical layer configured to interface the mass storage device to the PCIe link;
a PCIe Core, coupled to the PCIe physical layer, configured to encodedecode PCIe packets;
a PCIe-to-AHCI Bridge, coupled to the PCIe Core, configured to translate PCIe data to SATA format data and SATA format data to PCIe data;
an AHCI engine, coupled to the PCIe-to-AHCI Bridge, configured to act as a bus master between a host memory and the PCIe mass storage device; and
a SATA device, coupled to the AHCI engine, configured to provide SATA emulation for the PCIe mass storage device.
10. The device of claim 9 wherein the PCIe physical layer is configured to down-convert PCIe data from a PCIe link data rate to a lower data rate for the PCIe mass storage device and up-convert SATA data from the lower data rate to the PCIe link data rate.
11. The device of claim 9 wherein the AHCI engine performs direct memory access operations between the host memory and the PCIe mass storage device.
12. The device of claim 9 wherein the PCIe physical layer is configured to convert analog PCIe signals to digital SATA signals and the PCIe physical layer is further configured to convert digital SATA signals to analog PCIe signals.
13. The device of claim 9 wherein the PCIe physical layer further comprises buffers for temporary storage of incoming and outgoing data.
14. The device of claim 9 wherein the PCIe physical layer is comprised of a hardware function.
15. The device of claim 9 wherein the AHCI Engine comprises:
a direct memory access write engine configured to perform direct memory access write operations to host memory;
a direct memory access read engine configured to perform direct memory access read operations from the host memory; and
AHCI registers that configure and control the PCIe mass storage device.
16. The device of claim 9 wherein the PCIe-to-AHCI Bridge, the AHCI Engine, and the SATA device comprise an AHCI device controller that provides data movement between host memory and the storage media.
17. The device of claim 8 wherein the storage media comprises a solid state drive and the media manager generates control signals for reading, writing, and erasing the solid state drive.
18. A method for operating a PCIe mass storage device, the method comprising:
instructing a host that the PCIe mass storage device is a SATA host bus adaptor;
receiving communication in a SATA format; and
emulating the SATA format.
19. The method of claim 18 wherein instructing the host that the PCIe mass storage device is a SATA host bus adaptor comprises instructing the host that a PCIe mass storage device coupled to the host over a PCIe interface is a SATA host bus adaptor.
20. The method of claim 18 and further comprising receiving configuration data in configuration registers in the PCIe mass storage device, the configuration data being in a SATA format.
21. The method of claim 18 and further comprising transmitting, in a SATA format, status data regarding operational status of the PCIe mass storage device.
22. A PCIe mass storage system comprising:
a host system configured to control operations of the mass storage system; and
a PCIe mass storage device coupled to the host system over a PCIe interface, the mass storage device comprising:
a host bus adaptor configured to emulate a SATA device with the host system; and
a SATA mass storage device coupled to the host bus adaptor and configured to respond to SATA commands from the host system.
23. The system of claim 22 wherein the host system is a computer having a PCIe link circuit.
24. The system of claim 22 wherein the host system comprises software configured to communicate in a SATA format.
25. The system of claim 23 wherein the computer comprises an operating system with a capability of communicating with a SATA mass storage device over the PCIe interface.
26. The system of claim 22 wherein the PCIe mass storage device is coupled to the host system without a PCIe-to-SATA bridge.
27. A mass storage device comprising:
a host bus adaptor configured to emulate a first interface device over a second interface link, wherein the first interface and second interface are different interface standards; and
a first interface storage device, coupled to the host bus adaptor, configured to respond to first interface commands from the host bus adaptor.
