a first scanning line;
a second scanning line;
a data line;
a first pixel circuit including:
a first driving transistor having a first gate, a first drain, and a first source;
a first electro-optical element of which brightness is set according to a state of conduction between the first drain and the first source; and
a first switching element that is controlled by a first scanning signal supplied through the first scanning line; and

a second pixel circuit including:
a second driving transistor having a second gate, a second drain, and a second source;
a second electro-optical element of which brightness is set according to a state of conduction between the second drain and the second source; and
a second switching element that is controlled by a second scanning signal supplied through the second scanning line,

the electro-optical device being configured such that:
a first setting of a level of a first gate voltage of the first gate to a first voltage level is carried out by electrically connecting the first gate to any one of the first drain and the first source;
a first supply of a first data signal to the first gate through the data line and the first switching element is carried out;
a second setting of a level of a second gate voltage of the second gate to a second voltage level is carried out by electrically connecting the second gate to any one of the second drain and the second source; and
at least a part of the first supply and at least a part of the second setting being carried out simultaneously.
2. An electronic apparatus comprising the electro-optical device according to claim 1.
3. A driving method of an electro-optical device including:
a first scanning line;
a second scanning line;
a data line;
a first pixel circuit including:
a first driving transistor having a first gate, a first drain, and a first source;
a first electro-optical element of which brightness is set according to a state of conduction between the first drain and the first source; and
a first switching element that is controlled by a first scanning signal supplied through the first scanning line; and

a second pixel circuit including:
a second driving transistor having a second gate, a second drain; and a second source;
a second electro-optical element of which brightness is set according to a state of conduction between the second drain and the second source; and
a second switching element that is controlled by a second scanning signal supplied through the second scanning line,

the method comprising:
setting a level of a first gate voltage of the first gate to a first voltage level corresponding to a threshold voltage level of the first driving transistor;
supplying a first data signal to the first gate through the data line and the first switching element; and
setting a level of a second gate voltage of the second gate to a second voltage level corresponding to a threshold voltage level of the first transistor,
at least a part of the supplying of the first data signal and at least a part of the setting of the level of the second gate being carried out simultaneously.
4. An electronic apparatus comprising the electro-optical device according to claim 3.
5. An electro-optical device comprising:
a first scanning line;
a second scanning line;
a data line;
a first pixel circuit including:
a first driving transistor having a first gate, a first drain, and a first source;
a first electro-optical element of which brightness is set according to a state of conduction between the first drain and the first source; and
a first switching element that is controlled by a first scanning signal supplied through the first scanning line; and

a second pixel circuit including:
a second driving transistor having a second gate, a second drain, and a second source;
a second electro-optical element of which brightness is set according to a state of conduction between the second drain and the second source; and
a second switching element that is controlled by a second scanning signal supplied through the second scanning line,

the electro-optical device being configured such that:
a level of a first gate voltage of the first gate is set to a first voltage level corresponding to a threshold voltage level of the first driving transistor during a first period;
a first data signal is supplied to the first gate through the data line and the first switching element during a second period after the first period; and
a level of a second gate voltage of the second gate is set to a second voltage level corresponding to a threshold voltage level of the second driving transistor during the second period.
6. The organic electroluminescent device according to claim 5,
the electro-optical device being configured such that a second data signal is supplied to the second gate through the data line and the second switching element during a third period after the second period.
7. An electronic apparatus comprising the electro-optical device according to claim 5.
8. An electro-optical device comprising:
a first scanning line;
a second scanning line;
a data line;
a first pixel circuit including:
a first driving transistor having a first gate, a first drain, and a first source;
a first electro-optical element of which brightness is set according to a state of conduction between the first drain and the first source; and
a first switching element that is controlled by a first scanning signal supplied through the first scanning line; and

a second pixel circuit including:
a second driving transistor having a second gate, a second drain, and a second source;
a second electro-optical element of which brightness is set according to a state of conduction between the second drain and the second source; and
a second switching element that is controlled by a second scanning signal supplied through the second scanning line,

the electro-optical device being configured such that:
a first setting of a level of a first gate voltage of the first gate to a first voltage level corresponding to a threshold voltage level of the first driving transistor is carried out;
a first supply of a first data signal to the first gate through the data line and the first switching element is carried out;
a second setting of a level of a second gate voltage of the second gate to a second voltage level corresponding to a threshold voltage level of the second driving transistor is carried out; and
at least a part of the first supply and at least a part of the second setting being carried out simultaneously.
9. The electro-optical device according to claim 8,
the first setting being carried out by electrically connecting the first gate to any one of the first drain and the first source, and
the second setting being carried out by electrically connecting the second gate to any one of the second drain and the second source.
10. The electro-optical device according to claim 8,
the first setting being carried out in an off-state of the first switching element, and
the second setting being carried out in an off-state of the second switching element.
11. The electro-optical device according to claim 8, further comprising:
a third scanning line; and
a third pixel circuit including:
a third driving transistor having a third gate, a third drain, and a third source;
a third electro-optical element of which brightness is set according to a state of conduction between the third drain and the third source; and
a third switching element that is controlled by a third scanning signal supplied through the third scanning line,

the electro-optical device being further configured such that:
a second supply of a second data signal to the second gate through the data line and the second switching element is carried out;
a third supply of a third data signal to the third gate through the data line and the third switching element is carried out; and
a third setting of a level of a third gate voltage of the third gate to a third voltage level corresponding to a threshold voltage level of the third driving transistor is carried out, and
the third supply being carried out during at least a part of a period from a time when the first supply is completed to a time when the second supply commences.
12. The electro-optical device according to claim 11,
the third scanning line being positioned at a position between the first scanning line and the second scanning line.
13. The electro-optical device according to claim 11,
a mismatch of threshold voltage levels of the first driving transistor, and the second driving transistor, and the third driving transistor being compensated by the first setting, the second setting, and the third setting.
14. The electro-optical device according to claim 8,
the first voltage level being equal to a threshold voltage level of the first transistor.
15. The electro-optical device according to claim 8,
the level of the first gate voltage being set to a sum of the first voltage level and a voltage level corresponding to the first data signal.

in the first supply, the first data signal being supplied as a first data voltage, and

I claim:

1. A transmission efficient packet based display interface arranged to couple a multimedia source device to a multimedia sink device, comprising:
a bi-directional auxiliary channel arranged to transfer information between the multimedia source device and the multimedia sink device and vice versa, wherein the information transferred over the auxiliary channel includes a set of packet attributes; and
a unidirectional main link arranged to carry a number multimedia data packets from the multimedia source device to the multimedia sink device each having a multimedia data packet header, wherein each of the headers is substantially reduced in size over what would otherwise be necessary since the packet attributes are communicated via the auxiliary channel prior to the transmission of the main link packets over main link thereby minimizing the packet overhead and providing a very high main link efficiency.
2. A transmission efficient packet based display interface as recited in claim 1, further comprising:
a transmitter unit coupled to the source device arranged to receive a source packet data stream in accordance with a native stream rate;
a receiver unit coupled to the sink device; and wherein the main link has an associated link transmission rate that is independent of the native stream rate.
3. A transmission efficient packet based display interface as recited in claim 1, wherein associated ones of the multimedia data packets form a particular multimedia data packet stream.
4. A transmission efficient packet based display interface as recited in claim 3, wherein the multimedia data packet stream is one of a number of multimedia data packet streams each having an associated adjustable data stream link rate that is independent of the native stream rate.
5. A transmission efficient packet based display interface as recited in claim 1, wherein the bi-directional auxiliary channel is formed of a uni-directional back channel configured to carry information from the sink device to the source device and a uni-directional forward channel included as part of the main channel for carrying information from the source device to the sink device in concert with the back channel.
6. A transmission efficient packet based display interface as recited in claim 5, wherein the main link further comprises:
a number of virtual links each being associated with a particular one of the multi media data packet streams wherein each of said virtual links has an associated virtual link bandwidth and a virtual link rate.
7. A transmission efficient packet based display interface as recited in claim 6, wherein a main link bandwidth is at least equal to an aggregate of the virtual link bandwidths.
8. A transmission efficient packet based display interface as recited in claim 1, further comprising:
a hot plug event detector unit arranged to automatically determine when an active sink device is connected to the linking unit.
9. A transmission efficient packet based display interface as recited in claim 1, wherein the information includes display timing information used by the sink device to provide a displayed image based upon the received data stream.
10. A transmission efficient packet based display interface as recited in claim 1, wherein the information includes sync loss information, dropped packets information and the results of training sessions information.
11. A transmission efficient packet based display interface as recited in claim 1, wherein the multimedia data packet transfer is an isochronous type transfer that includes a videographics data stream and a multichannel audio stream and wherein the information transfer is an asynchronous transfer.
12. A transmission efficient packet based display interface as recited in claim 1, wherein the main link rate is adjustable in a range of approximately 1.0 Gigabits per second (Gbps) to approximately 2.5 Gbps.
13. A display interface as recited in claim 1, wherein the receiver unit includes a time-base recovery unit arranged to regenerate a particular data stream’s native rate based upon a time stamp embedded within the main link data packets and wherein the time stamp is based upon a determination of a number of native stream clocks in 220 cycles of link cycle clock frequency period.
14. A transmission efficient packet based display interface as recited in claim 13, wherein when the multimedia data stream is an audio stream, then there is no associated time stamp.
15. A transmission efficient packet based display interface as recited in claim 14, wherein the source device informs the display device by way of the auxiliary channel of an audio sample rate and a number of bits per sample corresponding to the audio stream.
16. A transmission efficient packet based display interface as recited in claim 15, wherein a native audio stream rate is calculated based upon the audio sample rate, the number of bits per sample and the corresponding link rate.
17. A display interface as recited in claim 1, wherein some of the multimedia data packets include a number of sub-packets each having an associated sub-packet header.
18. A display interface as recited in claim 17 further comprising:
a selective refresh unit included in the sink device that updates only a portion of a displayed graphics image for every video frame based upon a number of image coordinates corresponding to the updated portion of the displayed image by way of sub-packets included in a corresponding video data stream.
19. A method for efficiently transmitting packet data between a multimedia source device and a multimedia sink device, comprising:
transferring information between the multimedia source device and the multimedia sink device and vice versa by way of a bi-directional auxiliary channel, wherein the information transferred over the auxiliary channel includes a set of packet attributes; and
carrying a number multimedia data packets from the transmitter unit to the receiver unit each having a multimedia size reduced data packet header by a unidirectional main link, wherein each of the headers is substantially reduced in size over what would otherwise be necessary since the packet attributes are communicated via the auxiliary channel prior to the transmission of the main link packets over main link thereby minimizing the packet overhead and providing a very high main link efficiency.
20. A method as recited in claim 19, further comprising:
coupling a transmitter unit coupled to the source device arranged to receive a source packet data stream in accordance with a native stream rate;
coupling a receiver unit coupled to the sink device; and wherein the main link has an associated link transmission rate that is independent of the native stream rate.
21. A method as recited in claim 19, wherein associated ones of the multimedia data packets form a particular multimedia data packet stream.
22. A method as recited in claim 21, wherein the multimedia data packet stream is one of a number of multimedia data packet streams each having an associated adjustable data stream link rate that is independent of the native stream rate.
23. A method as recited in claim 19, wherein the bi-directional auxiliary channel is formed of a uni-directional back channel configured to carry information from the sink device to the source device and a uni-directional forward channel included as part of the main channel for carrying information from the source device to the sink device in concert with the back channel.
24. Computer program product for efficiently transmitting packet data between a multimedia source device and a multimedia sink device, comprising:
computer code for transferring information between the multimedia source device and the multimedia sink device and vice versa by way of a bi-directional auxiliary channel, wherein the information transferred over the auxiliary channel includes a set of packet attributes;
computer code for carrying a number multimedia data packets from the transmitter unit to the receiver unit each having a multimedia size reduced data packet header by a unidirectional main link, wherein each of the headers is substantially reduced in size over what would otherwise be necessary since the packet attributes are communicated via the auxiliary channel prior to the transmission of the main link packets over main link thereby minimizing the packet overhead and providing a very high main link efficiency; and
computer readable medium for storing the code.
25. Computer program product in claim 24, further comprising:
computer code for coupling a transmitter unit coupled to the source device arranged to receive a source packet data stream in accordance with a native stream rate;
computer code for coupling a receiver unit coupled to the sink device; and wherein the main link has an associated link transmission rate that is independent of the native stream rate.
26. Computer program product as recited in claim 24, wherein associated ones of the multimedia data packets form a particular multimedia data packet stream.
27. Computer program product as recited in claim 26, wherein the multimedia data packet stream is one of a number of multimedia data packet streams each having an associated adjustable data stream link rate that is independent of the native stream rate.
28. Computer program product as recited in claim 24, wherein the bi-directional auxiliary channel is formed of a uni-directional back channel configured to carry information from the sink device to the source device and a uni-directional forward channel included as part of the main channel for carrying information from the source device to the sink device in concert with the back channel.

a pair of ground regions, each of which is continuous in a longitudinal direction of the metal base, provided along opposite side edges of the metal base,
a plurality of first openings formed at predetermined intervals longitudinally relative to the metal base so as to be located corresponding to the first conductor for data writing, the first openings extending longitudinally relative to the metal base,
a plurality of second openings formed parallel to the first openings and at the predetermined intervals so as to be located corresponding to the second conductor for data writing, the second openings extending longitudinally relative to the metal base,
a ladder portion extending transversely relative to the metal base between the ground regions of the metal base,
a band-like portion formed between the first and second openings and located longitudinally relative to the first and second conductors for data writing in a position overlapping a gap between the conductors for data writing when the metal base is viewed vertically in a thickness direction from above, the band-like portion extending longitudinally relative to the metal base, and

A computer program product comprising one or more storage media for use in performing a transaction with multiple entities, wherein the multiple entities generate notifications that update a status of the transaction for a user, and for coordinating the notifications that are generated by the multiple entities and sent to the user, the computer program product comprising:
storage media storing computer-executable instructions, which when executed, implement a method comprising the following:
providing a notification interface, wherein the notification interface includes a standardized application programming interface (API) for each of the multiple entities to send notifications to a user, wherein the notification interface is enabled to send notifications to a user from multiple entities involved in a particular transaction with the user, and wherein each of the multiple entities that generates a notification corresponding to the transaction is enabled to communicate with the notification interface in order to send notifications to a user corresponding with the particular transaction and in a coordinated manner;
receiving, at the notification interface, notifications sent from the multiple entities, the notifications corresponding to the particular transaction, wherein each of the notifications comprises an identifier that enables the notification interface to uniquely identify the user and includes data identifying the particular transaction;
identifying the user from the identifier such that each notification may be sent to the user; and
the notification interface sending the notifications to a router, wherein the router upon receiving the notifications determines how to deliver the notifications to the user by consulting preferences set by the user and by selecting from a plurality of different delivery methods specified by the user preferences as available for delivering notifications to the user, and such that each of the notifications corresponding to the particular transaction with the user are ultimately sent to the user in a coordinated manner.
2. The computer program product as defined in claim 1, wherein the API is a common interface through which each of the multiple entities transmit their notifications.
3. The computer program product as defined in claim 1, wherein the act of receiving notifications from each of the multiple entities that generated a notification at the notification interface further comprises an act of authenticating each of the multiple entities that sends a notification to the notification interface.
4. The computer program product as defined in claim 1, wherein the method further comprises: receiving, by at least one of the multiple entities, the identifier from the user; and accessing the at least one of the multiple entities using an authentication service that authenticates the user.
5. The computer program product as defined in claim 1, wherein the notification comprises one or more of: an identifier field that contains one of a user identifier or a subscription identifier; a content field that contains a status of the transaction; an action field that contains an object, wherein the object is a URL; a priority field indicating a priority of the notification; a category field indicating a category of the notification; and an authenticate field that allows a sender of the notification to be authenticated.
6. The computer program product as defined in claim 5, wherein the method further comprises determining how to deliver the notifications to the user by consulting preferences set by the user and one or more of: user devices, presence information of the user, the priority field of the notification, or the category field of the notification.
7. The computer program product as defined in claim 6, wherein the act of sending the notifications to the user further comprises an act of identifying the user from the user identifier or the subscription identifier.
8. The computer program product as defined in claim 7, wherein the method further comprises delivering, by the router, the notifications to the user.
9. The computer program product as recited in claim 1, wherein the notification includes content that updates the user about the transaction, and wherein the method further includes:
sending each notification to the user according to the determined delivery method determined by the router.
10. The computer program product as defined in claim 1, wherein the method further comprises an act of the notification interface identifying the user from the authentication service using the user identifier.
11. The computer program product as defined in claim 1, wherein the method further comprises an act of the router identifying the user from the authentication service using the user identifier.
12. The computer program product as defined in claim 5, wherein the act of consulting, by the router, preferences set by the user further comprises an act of the router consulting the category and the priority included in the notification to determine a delivery method of the notification.
13. The computer program product as defined in claim 1, wherein the notification further comprises: a category and a priority of the transaction; an action field that permits the user to take an action regarding the transaction; and an authenticate field that enables the notification interface to authenticate the entity that generated the notification.
14. The computer program product as recited in claim 1, wherein the notifications include a plurality of notifications, each of the plurality of notifications being received from a different one of the multiple entities.
15. The computer program product as recited in claim 1, wherein the notifications are standardized by the API prior to being sent to the user.
16. The computer program product as recited in claim 14, wherein the method further includes at least one of the multiple entities passing the identifier to at least one additional entity of the multiple entities, prior to the at least one additional entity sending a notification to the notification interface.
17. The computer program product as recited in claim 1, wherein the router determines which of a plurality of user devices to send the notifications to, the plurality of user devices including at least one of a desktop computer, cellular telephone, pager, personal digital assistant, internet terminal, or facsimile.
18. The computer program product as recited in claim 1, wherein the notifications are a plurality of notifications that cover the transaction from beginning to end in a coordinated fashion.
19. The computer program product as recited in claim 1, wherein the same identifier is used by each of the one or more multiple entities.
20. The computer program product as recited in claim 1, wherein each notification comprises each of:
an identifier field containing at least one of a user identifier or a subscription identifier;
a content field containing a status of the particular transaction from one or more of the multiple entities;
an action field containing an object enabling the user to take further action regarding the particular transaction;
a priority field indicating the importance of the notification;
a category field indicating the type of transaction; and
an authenticate field for authenticating an entity that sends or generates the notification.
21. The computer program product as recited in claim 1, wherein the preference are inferentially set by the user.
22. The computer program product as recited in claim 1, wherein the storage media is system memory and wherein the computer program product comprises a computer system having a processor.
