transmitting a first physical layer command to a Node B of a time division-synchronous code division multiple access (TD-SCDMA) network to suspend data transmission; and
transmitting a second physical layer command to the Node B to resume data transmission.
2. The method of claim 1 in which the first physical layer command and the second physical layer command are transmitted using uplink synchronization shift bits.
3. The method of claim 1 in which the data transmission is on at least one of a downlink dedicated physical channel and an uplink dedicated physical channel.
4. The method of claim 1 further comprising, between transmitting the first physical layer command and transmitting the second physical layer command, measuring a GSM network.
5. The method of claim 1 further comprising, prior to transmitting the first physical layer command, determining flow control of data is desired.
6. The method of claim 5 further comprising, prior to transmitting the second physical layer command, determining flow control of data is no longer desired.
7. The method of claim 1 further comprising, prior to transmitting the first physical layer command, determining a desire to measure another network.
8. The method of claim 7 further comprising, prior to transmitting the second physical layer command, determining completion of measurement of the other network.
9. The method of claim 1 further comprising repeating transmission of the first physical layer command until detecting that data transmission has been suspended.
10. The method of claim 1 further comprising repeating transmission of the second physical layer command until detecting that data transmission has resumed.
11. A user equipment (UE) configured for wireless communication in a multicarrier radio access network, the UE comprising:
means for transmitting a first physical layer command to a Node B of a time division-synchronous code division multiple access (TD-SCDMA) network to suspend data transmission; and
means for transmitting a second physical layer command to the Node B to resume data transmission.
12. The user equipment of claim 11 in which the first physical layer command and the second physical layer command are transmitted using uplink synchronization shift bits.
13. The user equipment of claim 11 in which the data transmission is on at least one of a downlink dedicated physical channel and an uplink dedicated physical channel.
14. The user equipment of claim 11 further comprising means for, prior to transmitting the first physical layer command, determining flow control of data is desired.
15. The user equipment of claim 14 further comprising means for, prior to transmitting the second physical layer command, determining flow control of data is no longer desired.
16. The user equipment of claim 11 further comprising means for repeating transmission of the first physical layer command until detecting that data transmission has been suspended.
17. The user equipment of claim 11 further comprising means for repeating transmission of the second physical layer command until detecting that data transmission has resumed.
18. A computer program product, comprising:
a computer-readable medium having program code recorded thereon, the program code comprising:
program code to transmit a first physical layer command to a Node B of a time division-synchronous code division multiple access (TD-SCDMA) network to suspend data transmission; and
program code to transmit a second physical layer command to the Node B to resume data transmission.
19. The computer program product of claim 18 in which the first physical layer command and the second physical layer command are transmitted using uplink synchronization shift bits.
20. The computer program product of claim 18 in which the data transmission is on at least one of a downlink dedicated physical channel and an uplink dedicated physical channel.
21. The computer program product of claim 18 further comprising program code, prior to transmitting the first physical layer command, to determine flow control of data is desired.
22. The computer program product of claim 21 further comprising program code, prior to transmitting the second physical layer command, to determine flow control of data is no longer desired.
23. The computer program product of claim 18 further comprising program code to repeat transmission of the first physical layer command until detecting that data transmission has been suspended.
24. The computer program product of claim 18 further comprising program code to repeat transmission of the second physical layer command until detecting that data transmission has resumed.
25. A user equipment (UE) configured for wireless communication, the UE comprising:
at least one processor; and
a memory coupled to the at least one processor, wherein the at least one processor is configured:
to transmit a first physical layer command to a Node B of a time division-synchronous code division multiple access (TD-SCDMA) network to suspend data transmission; and
to transmit a second physical layer command to the Node B to resume data transmission.
26. The user equipment of claim 25 in which the first physical layer command and the second physical layer command are transmitted using uplink synchronization shift bits.
27. The user equipment of claim 25 in which the data transmission is on at least one of a downlink dedicated physical channel and an uplink dedicated physical channel.
28. The user equipment of claim 25 wherein the at least one processor is further configured, prior to transmitting the first physical layer command, to determine flow control of data is desired.
29. The user equipment of claim 28 wherein the at least one processor is further configured, prior to transmitting the second physical layer command, to determine flow control of data is no longer desired.
30. The user equipment of claim 25 wherein the at least one processor is further configured to repeat transmission of the first physical layer command until detecting that data transmission has been suspended.
31. The user equipment of claim 25 wherein the at least one processor is further configured to repeat transmission of the second physical layer command until detecting that data transmission has resumed.

an identification module configured to identify a receiver machine as available for inclusion in a consumer pool of receiver machines, the consumer pool including a plurality of receiver machines configured to receive messages for the consumer pool from a transmitter machine;
a processor configured by a generation module to generate a consumer address of the receiver machine with respect to the consumer pool, the consumer address being unique to the receiver machine among the plurality of receiver machines within the consumer pool, the generating being based on registration data received from the receiver machine; and
a provision module configured to provide the consumer address to the receiver machine, the consumer address being usable by the receiver machine to generate a multicast communication based on the consumer address, the multicast communication indicating that the receiver machine is available to receive at least some of the messages for the consumer pool from the transmitter machine.
2. The system of claim 1, further comprising a reception module configured to receive publication data from the transmitter machine, the publication data indicating that the transmitter machine is configured to transmit the messages for the consumer pool to the consumer pool.
3. The system of claim 2, wherein the reception module is further configured to receive registration data from the receiver machine, the registration data indicating that the receiver machine is available to receive at least some of the messages for the consumer pool from the transmitter machine.
4. The system of claim 1, wherein the provision module is further configured to provide configuration data to the receiver machine, the configuration data being usable by the receiver machine to perform a comparison of the configuration data to a hash of a message among the messages received from the transmitter machine and to process the message based on the comparison.
5. The system of claim 1, further comprising a storage module configured to store pool data that corresponds to the consumer pool, the pool data referencing each receiver machine of the plurality of receiver machines, and to update the pool data by including a reference to the receiver machine and the consumer address of the receiver machine in the pool data.
6. The system of claim 1, wherein a message among the messages includes a hash generated based on the consumer address.
7. The system of claim 1, wherein the consumer pool corresponds to a topic and the messages for the consumer pool indicate the topic.
8. The system of claim 7, wherein:
the topic that corresponds to the consumer pool is a root topic of the consumer pool;
the consumer pool corresponds to the root topic;
the messages indicate the root topic and a subtopic of the root topic; and
the messages indicate occurrences of events relating to the subtopic of the root topic that corresponds to the consumer pool.
9. A method comprising:
identifying a receiver machine as available for inclusion in a consumer pool of receiver machines, the consumer pool including a plurality of receiver machines configured to receive messages for the consumer pool from a transmitter machine;
generating a consumer address of the receiver machine with respect to the consumer pool, the consumer address being unique to the receiver machine among the plurality of receiver machines within the consumer pool, the generating being performed by a processor of a machine and based on registration data received from the receiver machine; and
providing the consumer address to the receiver machine, the consumer address being usable by the receiver machine to generate a multicast communication based on the consumer address, the multicast communication indicating that the receiver machine is available to receive at least some of the messages for the consumer pool from the transmitter machine.
10. The method of claim 9, further comprising:
providing configuration data to the receiver machine, the configuration data being usable by the receiver machine to perform a comparison of the configuration data to a hash of a message among the messages received from the transmitter machine and to process the message based on the comparison.
11. The method of claim 9, wherein the consumer pool corresponds to a topic and the messages for the consumer pool indicate the topic.
12. The method of claim 11, wherein the receiver machine corresponds to the topic and the receiver machine is available to receive at least some of the messages for the consumer pool that indicate the topic.
13. A non-transitory machine-readable storage medium comprising instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a machine, cause the machine to perform operations comprising:
identifying a receiver machine as available for inclusion in a consumer pool of receiver machines, the consumer pool including a plurality of receiver machines configured to receive messages for the consumer pool from a transmitter machine;
generating a consumer address of the receiver machine with respect to the consumer pool, the consumer address being unique to the receiver machine among the plurality of receiver machines within the consumer pool, the generating being based on registration data received from the receiver machine; and
providing the consumer address to the receiver machine, the consumer address being usable by the receiver machine to generate a multicast communication based on the consumer address, the multicast communication indicating that the receiver machine is available to receive at least some of the messages for the consumer pool from the transmitter machine.
14. The non-transitory machine-readable storage medium of claim 13, the operations further comprising:
providing configuration data to the receiver machine, the configuration data being usable by the receiver machine to perform a comparison of the configuration data to a hash of a message among the messages received from the transmitter machine and to process the message based on the comparison.
15. A system comprising:
a reception module configured to receive a consumer address from a configurator machine, the consumer address being unique to the system within a consumer pool of receiver machines, the consumer pool comprising a plurality of receiver machines configured to receive messages for the consumer pool from a transmitter machine, the consumer address being generated by the configurator machine based on registration data transmitted by the system, the registration data indicating that the system is available to receive at least some of the messages for the consumer pool from the transmitter machine;
a processor configured by a generation module to generate a multicast communication based on the consumer address, the multicast communication indicating an availability of the system to receive at least some of the messages for the consumer pool from the transmitter machine; and
a transmission module configured to transmit the registration data and to transmit the multicast communication.
16. The system of claim 15, wherein the reception module is further configured to receive a message among the messages for the consumer pool from the transmitter machine, the message including a hash generated based on the consumer address.
17. The system of claim 15, wherein the reception module is further configured to receive publication data from the transmitter machine, the publication data indicating that the transmitter machine is configured to transmit the messages for the consumer pool to the consumer pool.
18. The system of claim 15, wherein the transmission module is further configured to transmit registration data, the registration data indicating that the system is available to receive at least some of the messages for the consumer pool from the transmitter machine.
19. The system of claim 15, wherein reception module is further configured to receive configuration data from the configurator machine, the configuration data being usable by the system to perform a comparison of the configuration data to a hash of a message among the messages received from the transmitter machine and to process the message based on the comparison.
20. The system of claim 15, wherein the consumer pool corresponds to a topic and the messages for the consumer pool indicate the topic; and wherein the multicast communication further indicates that the system is available to receive at least some of the messages that indicate the topic.
21. The system of claim 20, wherein:
the topic that corresponds to the consumer pool is a root topic of the consumer pool;;
the consumer pool corresponds to the root topic;
the messages indicate the root topic and a subtopic of the root topic;
the messages indicate occurrences of events relating to the subtopic of the root topic that corresponds to the consumer pool; and
the registration data includes a topic identifier that identifies the root topic.
22. A non-transitory machine-readable storage medium comprising instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a machine, cause the machine to perform operations comprising:
receiving a consumer address from a configurator machine, the consumer address being unique to the system within a consumer pool of receiver machines, the consumer pool comprising a plurality of receiver machines configured to receive messages for the consumer pool from a transmitter machine, the consumer address being generated by the configurator machine based on registration data transmitted by the system, the registration data indicating that the system is available to receive at least some of the messages for the consumer pool from the transmitter machine;
generating a multicast communication based on the consumer address, the multicast communication indicating an availability of the system to receive at least some of the messages for the consumer pool from the transmitter machine; and
transmitting the multicast communication.
23. The non-transitory machine-readable storage medium of claim 22, the operations further comprising: receiving a message among the messages for the consumer pool from the transmitter machine, the message including a hash generated based on the consumer address.
24. A method comprising:
receiving a consumer address from a configurator machine, the consumer address being unique to the system within a consumer pool of receiver machines, the consumer pool comprising a plurality of receiver machines configured to receive messages for the consumer pool from a transmitter machine, the consumer address being generated by the configurator machine based on registration data transmitted by the system, the registration data indicating that the system is available to receive at least some of the messages for the consumer pool from the transmitter machine;
generating a multicast communication based on the consumer address, the generating being performed by a processor of a machine, the multicast communication indicating an availability of the system to receive at least some of the messages for the consumer pool from the transmitter machine; and
transmitting the multicast communication.
25. The method of claim 24, further comprising: receiving a message among the messages for the consumer pool from the transmitter machine, the message including a hash generated based on the consumer address.

1. A clutch assembly comprising:
a rotor having a rotational axis and an outer surface;
a first clutch element contact surface disposed on the rotor outer surface;
a second clutch element contact surface disposed on the rotor outer surface spaced axially from the first clutch element contact surface and having a smaller radial distance to the rotational axis than the first clutch element contact surface;
a stator disposed around at least a portion of the rotor and having an inner surface;
a clutch element disposed between and in contact with the rotor and the stator inner surface; and
an axial force source in communication with the clutch element, the axial force source configured to supply a predetermined axial force to the clutch element,
wherein when an opposing force is applied to the clutch element in a direction opposite the axial direction, the assembly selectively (i) engages by providing contact between the clutch element and the first clutch element contact surface, when the opposing force is less than the predetermined axial force, and (ii) disengages by providing contact between the clutch element and the second clutch element contact surface, when the opposing force is greater than the predetermined axial force.
2. The assembly of claim 1, further comprising an axial groove formed in the stator, the axial groove defining a first lateral position and a second lateral position between which the clutch element selectively moves.
3. The assembly of claim 2, further comprising a radial spring configured to supply a force to maintain the clutch element at the first lateral position.
4. The assembly of claim 3, wherein the radial spring is a leaf spring.
5. The assembly of claim 1, wherein the ramped land is a protrusion extending radially outwardly from the rotor and the first clutch element contact surface is located on the protrusion.
6. The assembly of claim 5, wherein the protrusion extends circumferentially around the rotor.
7. The assembly of claim 1, wherein the ramped land is a groove formed in the rotor outer surface, and the first and second clutch element contact surfaces are located axially along the groove.
8. The assembly of claim 7, wherein the groove extends circumferentially around the rotor.
9. The assembly of claim 1, further comprising a separator mounted around the rotor and configured to receive the predetermined axial force, the separator including a pocket formed therein within which the clutch element is disposed.
10. The assembly of claim 1, wherein the axial force source is a spring coupled to the stator and axially fixed relative to the rotor.
11. A brakeclutch assembly comprising:
a rotor having a rotational axis and an outer surface including a plurality of first clutch element contact surfaces and second clutch element contact surfaces, each first clutch element contact surface having a radial distance to the rotational axis, and each second clutch element contact surface having a second radial distance that is less than the first radial distance;
a stator disposed around at least a portion of the rotor and having an inner surface;
a plurality of clutch elements each corresponding to one of the first clutch element contact surfaces and one of the second clutch element surfaces, the clutch elements disposed between and in contact with the rotor and the stator inner surface; and
an axial force source in communication with each of the clutch elements, the axial force source configured to supply a predetermined axial force against the clutch elements,
wherein when an opposing force is applied to at least one of the clutch elements, the assembly selectively (i) engages by providing contact between at least one of the clutch elements and its corresponding first clutch element contact surface, when the opposing force is less than the predetermined axial force, and (ii) disengages by providing contact between the clutch element and its corresponding second clutch element contact surface, when the opposing force is greater than the predetermined axial force.
12. The assembly of claim 11, wherein the plurality of clutch elements is disposed around the shaft in an annular pattern.
13. The assembly of claim 12, further comprising a second plurality of clutch elements disposed in an annular pattern proximate the first plurality of clutch elements.
14. The assembly of claim 11, further comprising a plurality of axial grooves formed in the stator, the axial grooves each defining a first lateral position and a second lateral position between which the clutch elements selectively move.
15. The assembly of claim 14, further comprising a plurality of radial springs configured to supply a force to maintain the clutch elements at the first lateral position.
16. The assembly of claim 11, further comprising a separator mounted around the rotor and configured to receive the predetermined axial force, the separator including a plurality of pockets formed therein within which the plurality of clutch elements are disposed.
17. The assembly of claim 11, further comprising at least one protrusion extending radially outwardly from the rotor, wherein at least one of the first contact surfaces is located on the protrusion.
18. The assembly of claim 17, wherein the protrusion extends circumferentially around the rotor.
19. The assembly of claim 11, further comprising a groove formed in the rotor outer surface, wherein at least one of the second contact surfaces is located in the groove.

extracting by a computer file information from the selected at least one input file to an output file in the selected output file format; and
circulating by the computer the output file to at least one recipient entity using the selected mode for circulation.
2. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the at least one input file comprises a product manufacturing report from a semiconductor foundry.
3. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, further comprising converting by the computer the at least one input file to a different file format prior to the extracting.
4. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the mode for circulation comprises e-mail.
5. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the mode for circulation comprises facsimile.
6. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the mode for circulation comprises a wireless device.

10. A computer-implemented method for circulating a file associated with the manufacture or sale of semiconductor devices, the method comprising:
closing by a computer an application file responsive to a user request;
querying the user by the computer if the application file is to be circulated;
if the application file is to be circulated, checking and determining by the computer the application file type;
preparing by the computer the application file for circulation, wherein the preparing comprises converting the application file to another application file type if necessary; and
circulating by the computer the output file to at least one recipient using a selected one of a plurality of circulation modes.
11. The computer-implemented method of claim 10, wherein the application file comprises a product manufacturing report from a semiconductor foundry.
12. The computer-implemented method of claim 10, wherein preparing the application file comprises converting the application file to a different file format.
13. The computer-implemented method of claim 10, wherein a mode for circulating comprises e-mail.
14. The computer-implemented method of claim 10, wherein a mode for circulating comprises facsimile.
15. The computer-implemented method of claim 10, wherein a mode for circulating comprises a wireless device.
16. The computer-implemented method of claim 10, wherein the application file comprises at least two separate application files.
17. The computer-implemented method of claim 10, wherein circulating comprises sending an e-mail to at least two different users, the at least two different users having different e-mail systems.

19. A system for circulating a file, the system comprising:
a virtual fabrication system comprising a plurality of components located in at least two different locations, the components connected by a network;
a memory system connected to the network configured to store files regarding the operation of the virtual fabrication system;
a communication system connected to the network, and configured to extract data from at least one input file to an output file having a format selected from one of a plurality of file formats and circulate the output file to a plurality of recipients using a selected one of a plurlaity of modes for circulation.
20. The system of claim 19, wherein the at least one input file comprises a product manufacturing report from a semiconductor foundry.
21. The system of claim 19, wherein the communication system is adapted to convert the at least one input file to a different file format.
22. The system of claim 19, wherein the communication system is adapted to send emails.
23. The system of claim 19, wherein the communication system is adapted to send facsimiles.
24. The system of claim 19, wherein the communication system is adapted to send the files to a wireless device.
25. The system of claim 19, wherein the communication system is adapted to send emails and facsimiles.
