1. An electronic apparatus comprising:
a printed circuit board including a printed wiring board and a part mounted on the print wiring board;
a first connector provided in a peripheral portion of the printed wiring board separately from the part;
a reinforcing plate having a first portion extending in a direction along the printed wiring board and to be attached in a region corresponding to the part on the printed circuit board, a second portion extending in a direction crossing the first portion at a position outside the peripheral portion of the printed wiring board and attached to the printed circuit board to reinforce the first connector, and a connecting portion which connects the first portion and the second portion and provided with a position away from the printed wiring board;
a first fixing member which fixes the first portion to the printed circuit board at an end of the first portion that is opposite to a portion facing the second portion; and
a second fixing member which fixes the second portion to the printed circuit board,
wherein the part is a circuit part embedded with a semiconductor chip, and the first portion has a through hole in its central portion.
2. The electronic apparatus of claim 1, wherein the connecting portion has a surface parallel to the printed circuit board.
3. The electronic apparatus of claim 1, wherein the first portion has a first bent portion projecting from its peripheral portion.
4. The electronic apparatus of claim 3, wherein the second portion has a second bent portion, which projects in a direction parallel to the first portion from ends in a width direction of the second portion perpendicular to a longitudinal direction thereof.
5. The electronic apparatus of claim 4, wherein the connecting portion is formed integral with the second bent portion.

1. A wall assembly for mixing polluted air with less polluted air to provide moderately polluted air, the polluted air comprising at least one roadway pollutant in at least one elevated concentration moving from a roadway region above a roadway toward a leeward region above a leeward area, the less polluted air comprising said at least one roadway pollutant in at least one lower concentration located distal to the roadway, and the moderately polluted air comprising said at least one roadway pollutant at a reduced concentration disposed proximal to the leeward area, the wall assembly comprising:
an outer wall spaced apart from the roadway with an upper end thereof positioned a first predetermined height above the ground;
an inner wall disposed between the roadway and the outer wall and comprising a lower portion with a top end thereof positioned a second predetermined height above the ground, the lower portion extending between the top end and a bottom end thereof, the lower portion being spaced apart from the outer wall by at least one preselected distance to at least partially define a first channel therebetween;
the inner wall additionally comprising a deflector positioned at the top end of the lower portion, the deflector comprising an upper end thereof positioned at a first preselected height above the ground to permit at least a portion of said less polluted air to pass over the upper end while the less polluted air moves from the roadway region toward the leeward region; and
the lower portion being formed to at least partially define at least one aperture for directing a first part of said polluted air into the first channel, such that said first part of said polluted air is directed substantially upwardly thereby to mix with said less polluted air to provide said moderately polluted air proximal to the leeward area.
2. A wall assembly according to claim 1 in which the first and second predetermined heights are substantially equal.
3. A wall assembly according to claim 1 in which the bottom end of the lower portion of the inner wall is positioned a second preselected height above the ground to at least partially define said at least one aperture and a second channel in communication therewith and in communication with the first channel, for directing said first part of said polluted air into the first channel.
4. A wall assembly according to claim 1 in which the deflector is positioned for directing at least a second part of said polluted air substantially upwardly, for mixing with said less polluted air.
5. A wall assembly according to claim 1 in which the lower portion comprises an exposed inner wall surface adapted to direct said second part of said polluted air substantially upwardly for mixing thereof with said less polluted air.
6. A wall assembly according to claim 5 in which the deflector and the exposed inner wall surface substantially define an obtuse dihedral angle therebetween substantially facing the roadway region.
7. A wall assembly according to claim 6 in which the dihedral angle is approximately 135\xb0.
8. A wall assembly according to claim 1 in which the outer wall comprises an outer wall channel surface and the inner wall comprises an inner wall channel surface facing the outer wall channel surface, the inner wall channel surface and the outer wall channel surface at least partially defining the first channel.
9. A wall assembly according to claim 1 additionally comprising at least one pollution treatment device positioned for treatment of said first part of said polluted air as said first part of said polluted air moves through the first channel.
10. An inner wall for positioning relative to an outer wall to provide a wall assembly for mixing polluted air with less polluted air to provide moderately polluted air, the polluted air comprising at least one roadway pollutant in at least one elevated concentration moving from a roadway region proximal to a roadway toward a leeward region substantially above a leeward area, the less polluted air comprising said at least one roadway pollutant in at least one lower concentration located distal to the roadway, and the moderately polluted air comprising said at least one roadway pollutant at a reduced concentration disposed proximal to the leeward area, the outer wall including an upper end thereof positioned a first height above the ground, the inner wall comprising:
a lower portion positionable between the roadway and the outer wall, the lower portion comprising a top end thereof positioned at a second height above the ground, the second height being substantially equal to the first height, the lower portion extending between the upper end and a bottom end thereof;
the lower portion being positionable spaced apart from the outer wall by at least one preselected distance to at least partially define a first channel therebetween;
a deflector positioned at the top end of the lower portion, the deflector comprising an upper end thereof positioned at a first preselected height above the ground to permit at least a portion of said less polluted air to pass over the upper end while the less polluted air moves from the roadway region toward the leeward region; and
the lower portion being formed to at least partially define at least one aperture for directing a first part of said polluted air into the first channel, such that said first part of said polluted air is directed substantially upwardly thereby to mix with said less polluted air to provide said moderately polluted air proximal to said leeward area.
11. An inner wall according to claim 10 in which the bottom end of the lower portion is positionable at a second preselected height above the ground to at least partially define said at least one aperture and a second channel in communication therewith, for directing said first part of said polluted air into the first channel.
12. An inner wall according to claim 10 in which the deflector is positioned for directing at least a second part of said polluted air substantially upwardly, for mixing with said less polluted air.
13. An inner wall according to claim 10 in which the lower portion comprises an exposed inner wall surface adapted to direct said second part of said polluted air substantially upwardly for mixing thereof with said less polluted air.
14. An inner wall according to claim 13 in which the deflector and the exposed inner wall surface substantially define an obtuse dihedral angle therebetween substantially facing the roadway region.
15. An inner wall according to claim 14 in which the dihedral angle is approximately 135\xb0.
16. An inner wall according to claim 10 additionally comprising at least one pollution treatment device positioned for treatment of said first part of said polluted air as said first part of said polluted air moves through the first channel.
17. A wall assembly for mixing polluted air with less polluted air to provide moderately polluted air, the polluted air comprising at least one roadway pollutant in at least one elevated concentration moving from a roadway region proximal to a roadway toward a leeward region substantially above a leeward area, the less polluted air comprising said at least one roadway pollutant in at least one lower concentration located distal to the roadway, and the moderately polluted air comprising said at least one roadway pollutant at a reduced concentration disposed proximal to the leeward area, the wall assembly comprising:
means for dividing air from the roadway region into a lower part and an upper part;
means for permitting at least a portion of the upper part to flow substantially in at least one flow direction toward the leeward region; and
means for directing the lower part substantially upwardly in a direction substantially transverse to said at least one flow direction to intersect with the upper part and to mix the polluted air with said less polluted air, to provide said moderately polluted air proximal to the leeward area.

1. A method for removing flash artifacts comprising the steps of:
a) capturing a first digital image of a subject;
b) capturing a second digital image of said subject with the use of a flash;
c) selecting an intensity threshold; and
d) for each pixel to be processed performing the sub-steps of:
i) subtracting intensity of current pixel in said first digital image from intensity of current pixel in said second digital image resulting in a pixel to difference; and
ii) replacing current pixel in said second digital image with current pixel from said first digital image when said pixel difference is greater than said intensity threshold.
2. A method for removing flash artifacts as recited in claim 1, wherein said intensity threshold is set by a user.
3. A method for removing flash artifacts as recited in claim 1, further comprising the step of:
e) after all of said pixels to be processed have been processed, saving said second digital image in a memory device as a final digital image.
4. A method for removing flash artifacts comprising the steps of:
a) capturing a first digital image of a subject;
b) capturing a second digital image of said subject with the use of a flash;
c) selecting at least three primary color thresholds; and
d) for each primary color of each pixel to be processed performing the sub-steps of:
i) subtracting primary color value of current pixel in said first digital image from primary color value of current pixel in said second digital image resulting in a primary color pixel difference for the current primary color of the current pixel; and
ii) replacing primary color value of current pixel in said second digital image with primary color value of current pixel form said first digital image when said primary color pixel difference for the current primary color of the current pixel is greater than said primary color threshold for said current primary color.
5. A method for removing flash artifacts as recited in claim 4;
wherein said primary colors include red, green, and blue.
6. A method for removing flash artifacts as recited in claim 4;
wherein said primary colors include yellow, cyan, and magenta.
7. A method for removing flash artifacts as recited in claim 4;
wherein said primary color thresholds are set by a user.
8. A method for removing flash artifacts as recited in claim 4, further comprising the step of:
e) after all of said pixels to be processed have been processed, saving said second digital image in a memory device as a final digital image.
9. A method for removing flash artifacts comprising the steps of:
a) capturing a first digital image of a subject;
b) capturing a second digital image of said subject with the use of a flash;
c) selecting at least three primary color thresholds; and
d) for each primary color of each pixel to be processed performing the sub-steps of:
i) subtracting primary color value of current pixel in said first digital image from primary color value of current pixel in said second digital image resulting in a primary color pixel difference for the current primary color of the current pixel; and
ii) replacing primary color value of current pixel in said second digital image with a color value calculated from said primary color value of current pixel in said first digital image, and said primary color value of current pixel in said second digital image, when said primary color pixel difference for the current primary color of the current pixel is greater than said primary color threshold for said current primary color.
10. A method for removing flash artifacts as recited in claim 9;
wherein said primary colors include red, green, and blue.
11. A method for removing flash artifacts as recited in claim 9;
wherein said primary colors include yellow, cyan, and magenta.
12. A method for removing flash artifacts as recited in claim 9;
wherein said primary color thresholds are set by a user.
13. A method for removing flash artifacts as recited in claim 9, further comprising the step of:
j) after all of said pixels to be processed have been processed, saving said second digital image in a memory device as a final digital image.

What is claimed is:

1. Apparatus for lifting a load having an upright tubular sidewall, comprising:
a plurality of clamps constructed and disposed to grip spaced sidewall portions, each of the clamps having cooperable, relatively movable outer and inner jaws shaped to conform to the shape of the respective sidewall portions, the outer jaws being disposed to engage outer surfaces of the respective sidewall portions and the inner jaws being disposed to engage inner surfaces of the respective sidewall portions; and
a lifting mechanism constructed to close the clamps to grip the respective sidewall portions frictionally and then to raise the lifting apparatus with the load suspended from the clamps.
2. Apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the outer jaws are fixed to a frame, and the inner jaws are supported on the frame for movement relative to the outer jaws.
3. Apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the clamps are constructed and disposed to grip opposite sidewall portions.
4. Apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the lifting mechanism is operatively connected to the inner jaws and is constructed to move the inner jaws into engagement with inner surfaces of the sidewall portions.
5. Apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the apparatus has elements that support the apparatus on a top edge of the sidewall when the apparatus is positioned relative to the load for lifting.
6. Apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the lifting mechanism comprises a frame and a lifting member movable vertically relative to the frame, and the clamps are closed in response to upward movement of the lifting member relative to the frame.
7. Apparatus according to claim 6, wherein the lifting mechanism includes linkages that connect the jaws of the clamps to the lifting member and that move to close the clamps when the lifting member is raised.
8. Apparatus according to claim 6, wherein the lifting mechanism includes a pair of incline surfaces that move followers when the lifting member is raised, and thereby close the clamps.
9. Apparatus according to claim 8, wherein the incline surfaces are part of wedge members mounted on the lifting member so as to move upwardly when the lifting member is raised, and the followers are mounted on pivot members pivotally supported on the frame, one of the jaws of each clamp being mounted on a respective pivot member and the other jaw of each clamp being fixed to the frame.
10. Apparatus according to claim 6, wherein the inner jaws are mounted on pivot members that are pivotally supported on the frame, and wherein the lifting member has a pair of wedges mounted thereon adjacent to the respective pivot members, each pivot member having a follower thereon engaging an incline surface of a respective wedge so that when the wedges are moved upwardly by the lifting member, the upward movement of the wedges is converted to pivotal movement of the pivot members and the inner jaws are moved toward the outer jaws to close the clamps on the sidewall portions, and then continued upward movement of the lifting member lifts the load.
11. Apparatus according to claim 10, wherein the wedges have guide surfaces, spaced from the incline surfaces and engaging guide members mounted on the frame for guiding movement of the wedges relative to the frame, and wherein the lifting member has additional guide surfaces engaging guide members mounted on the frame for guiding movement of the lifting member relative to the frame.
12. Apparatus according to claim 10, wherein the frame comprises a pair of spaced plates and the lifting member comprises a plate disposed between the plates of the frame.
13. Apparatus according to claim 6, wherein the inner jaws are mounted on first end portions of respective first links pivotally supported on the frame at intermediate regions of the first links, and wherein the lifting mechanism includes the first links and second links pivotally connected between respective second end portions of the first links and the lifting member.
14. Apparatus according to claim 13, wherein the frame comprises a pair of parallel frame parts, each of the first links comprises a pair of parallel link parts disposed adjacent to respective frame parts, and each of the second links comprises a pair of parallel link parts disposed adjacent to respective first link parts.
15. Apparatus according to claim 13, wherein the apparatus has a releasable latch for holding the links in positions that maintain the clamps open.
16. Apparatus according to claim 6, wherein the apparatus has a releasable latch for holding the lifting member at a position relative to the frame at which the clamps are open.
17. Apparatus according to claim 16, wherein the releasable latch comprises a pin insertable through corresponding holes in the lifting member and the frame.
18. Apparatus according to claim 1, wherein jaws of the clamps have tapered lead-in portions to facilitate placement of the clamps over an upper edge of the sidewall portions.
19. Apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the apparatus includes handles for manually positioning the apparatus relative to a container.
20. A method of lifting a load having spaced sidewall portions, comprising:
disposing a plurality of clamps adjacent to respective sidewall portions, each clamp having cooperable, relatively movable outer and inner jaws shaped to conform to the shape of the respective sidewall portions, the outer jaws being disposed to engage outer surfaces of the respective sidewall portions and the inner jaws being disposed to engage inner surfaces of the respective sidewall portions;
moving the jaws of each clamp to close the clamps to grip respective sidewall portions frictionally; and
lifting the clamps so as to lift the load with the load suspended from the clamps.
21. A method according to claim 20, further comprising increasing clamping pressure between the jaws of each clamp in response to lifting of the load.
22. A method according to claim 21, wherein the increasing of the clamping pressure is due to a levering action that urges one of the jaws of each clamp toward the other jaw of each clamp.
23. A method according to claim 21, wherein the increasing of the clamping pressure is due to a wedging action that urges one of the jaws of each clamp toward the other jaw of each clamp.
24. A method according to claim 21, wherein the clamps are supported on a frame, and prior to closing the clamps on the respective sidewall portions the frame is supported on a top edge of the sidewall.
25. Lifting apparatus comprising a plurality of gripping devices having shaped surfaces for gripping spaced sidewall portions of a container between the surfaces of each gripping device, the surfaces being shaped to conform to the shape of the spaced sidewall portions and being actuated by the weight of the container andor its contents as the container is lifted to create a gripping force on the sidewall portions that allows the container and any contents to be lifted with the container suspended from the shaped surfaces.
26. Lifting apparatus according to claim 25, wherein the gripping devices are actuated by mechanical advantage devices.
27. Lifting apparatus according to claim 25, wherein the gripping devices are constructed to lift containers having straight sidewalls extending to a top edge of the sidewalls, the sidewalls being free of crimping, beading, or other surface formations that would aid in lifting of the containers.
28. Lifting apparatus comprising clamp means including cooperable first and second jaws, a frame, and a lifting member movable relative to the frame, the first jaw being fixed to the frame and the second jaw being mounted on a pivot member pivotally supported on the frame, and incline surface means fixed to the lifting member, the pivot member having a follower that engages the incline surface means to move the second jaw toward the first jaw in response to movement of the lifting member relative to the frame.
29. Lifting apparatus comprising a pair of spaced clamps, a frame, and a lifting member movable relative to the frame, each clamp having a first jaw fixed to the frame and a second jaw mounted on a pivot member pivotally supported on the frame, and a pair of incline surface members fixed to the lifting member, the pivot members having followers cooperable with the incline surface members, respectively, for moving the second jaws toward the first jaws when the lifting member is moved relative to the frame.
30. Lifting apparatus comprising a frame, a pair of spaced clamps, each clamp having cooperable first and second jaws, a pair of linkages, and a lifting member movable relative to the frame, the first jaws being fixed to the frame, and the second jaws being fixed to first links of the linkages, respectively, the first links being pivotally mounted on the frame and being pivotally connected to second links of the linkages, respectively, that are pivotally connected to the lifting member, the linkages being constructed to move the second jaws toward the first jaws in response to movement of the lifting member relative to the frame.
